Even after the main characters arrived, they could more or less guess that the two were not ordinary people.
After sitting down, Sun Lixin completely ignored the manager next to him and started complaining.
"Why not open a bigger store? The lines outside are so long."
The manager could only manage a wry smile.
When asked what he wanted to order, Sun Lixin didn't even look at the menu and just blurted out his order.
"Braised pork belly, salted chicken with cheese, soft-boiled chicken, scallion oil noodles, crab roe tofu, stir-fried eel with hot oil, and deep-fried shrimp."
"One side dish, two main courses and one dessert."
"Keep the drinks simple, just something to whet your appetite."
The manager kept wiping away cold sweat, afraid that he might neglect Sun Lixin in the slightest.
After the manager left, Sun Lixin lit a cigarette and quietly complained to Lin Yifeng.
"Mr. Lin, let's not talk about what this store is like yet."
"The taste here is definitely fine."
"If you want to eat authentic old Shanghai cuisine, you have to come here. Nowhere else can compare."
Lin Yifeng raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah?"
To be honest, this was also Lin Yifeng's first time visiting this store.
However, just by looking at the number of Shanghainese people in the restaurant, you can tell how much locals like the cuisine here.
Lin Yifeng picked up the menu and looked at it; the prices here weren't exactly cheap.
The dishes Sun Lixin just ordered would cost over 300 to nearly 400 yuan, which is almost half a month's salary for an average family.
Sun Lixin enthusiastically introduced the situation to Lin Yifeng.
"Mr. Lin, do you know what 'Benbang cuisine' is?"
Lin Yifeng shook his head.
Sun Lixin grinned as he introduced the products to Lin Yifeng.
"Shanghai cuisine is characterized by its rich, dark sauces, mellow flavor, and exquisite presentation."
Sun Lixin began to talk at the table, introducing the origins of local Shanghai cuisine.
His voice also attracted the attention of many customers in the store.
After hearing Sun Lixin's introduction, many locals in Shanghai nodded in agreement, and their gazes toward Lin Yifeng and his group became much more friendly.
After chatting for a while at the dinner table, the first dish was served.
It's a local braised pork dish.
This braised pork is different from the braised pork that Lin Yifeng and his friends have eaten outside. The main difference is that it comes in a large piece of meat and is served with a braised egg.
Sun Lixin then introduced the products to Lin Yifeng.
"This is braised pork."
"The braised pork in Shanghainese cuisine is quite different from what we usually eat."
"The meat here is characterized by its bright red color, rich but not greasy texture, tenderness and flavor. It is usually served with braised eggs or tofu knots, and is a must-order dish when eating local Shanghai cuisine."
Upon hearing this, an elderly local man standing nearby also praised it repeatedly.
Wow, you can eat a lot.
"I'm an old-timer."
"Where did it come from?"
Sun Lixin smiled and replied with a smile.
"Kyoto."
"I'm in Shanghai for work, so I thought I'd treat my friend to a meal at his restaurant."
The old man nodded and then gave it a repeated recommendation.
"Try the braised eel in hot oil later, that's even better."
Lin Yifeng also began to sample the local cuisine after being introduced to it by Sun Lixin.
Just as Sun Lixin said, the food here is indeed very good, better than most of the meals Lin Yifeng has eaten in Shanghai.
Unfortunately, Lin Yifeng is from the north, and he wasn't used to the sweet taste after eating too much of it.
Sun Lixin didn't introduce a single dish, yet he won the approval of everyone around him in Shanghai, with some even clapping and giving him a thumbs up.
Some of them even added dishes to Sun Lixin's table so that he could try other delicacies.
After all the food was served, everyone started eating.
After eating for a while, Sun Lixin finally revealed his purpose in following Lin Yifeng to Shanghai.
"Mr. Lin? Would you be able to stay in Shanghai for a while longer recently?"
Lin Yifeng raised an eyebrow.
"Is there anything I can help you with, Master Sun?"
He guessed that Sun Lixin's eagerness to find him was definitely not that simple.
Sun Lixin grinned.
"Here's the thing, Liu Wei and I have thought about it and we're planning to open a Bianyifang in Shanghai."
"I don't need you to help me take a look."
"Let's see if there's a suitable place."
Lin Yifeng looked at Sun Lixin's beaming face and couldn't help but laugh and cry.
When Sun Lixin invited him to dinner and introduced the restaurant so enthusiastically, Lin Yifeng had already guessed that Sun Lixin wanted his help in choosing a restaurant.
Lin Yifeng did not want to refuse this offer.
Firstly, he did have some free time, and secondly, he had a good relationship with Sun Lixin, so if he could help, future cooperation would be easier.
"I can be picky."
"But shops in Shanghai aren't cheap."
"Master Sun, are you prepared to bleed a lot of money?"
Sun Lixin nodded with a wry smile.
If they want to expand beyond Kyoto, their first step is to increase their scale.
In addition to Shanghai, they plan to open another Bianyifang store in Shenzhen within three years.
The plan is to start building in major first-tier cities and then gradually expand to second-tier cities.
It must be said that Liu Wei and Sun Lixin took Lin Yifeng's advice to heart and, after discussion, finalized the plan.
It just so happens that Lin Yifeng is also in Shanghai, and they hope that he can lend a hand in this regard.
Of course, opening a restaurant is not that simple. Sun Lixin and his team need to have a plan if they want to establish themselves in Shanghai.
