Chapter 376 Replicating Luxury Stores in Shanghai

How could Wei Guochang not care about this matter?

He asked Lin Yifeng to wait a couple of days to organize the information on the remaining two counties, and then they would consider other matters later.

After waiting for two days, Lin Yifeng set off with Wei Guochang again.

Having learned from their previous experience, Wei Guochang saved a lot of trouble in collecting information about the shops. In just one afternoon, the two of them visited two counties and checked out all the shops.

Lin Yifeng selected a total of twenty-four shops, and entrusted Wei Guochang with negotiating prices.

When these twenty-four shops heard that someone was willing to buy them, the vast majority sold them directly. Only a very small number were dissatisfied with the price, and Wei Guochang was still negotiating between them.

For shops that start at 200,000, Wei Guochang successfully lowered the price to 180,000, and for shops that start at 200,000, the price was also reduced to around 200,000.

Lin Yifeng waited patiently and strolled around the area around Shanghai.

After spending a few days in Shanghai, Sun Lixin finalized the price and completed the contract. He then prepared to return to Beijing with the property certificate to discuss more details with Liu Wei.

After seeing Sun Lixin off at the airport, Lin Yifeng estimated the time.

He's been in Shanghai for almost ten days now, and it's time for him to go back to Muye.

Before leaving, Lin Yifeng planned to browse the shopping malls in Shanghai and bring back some small gifts for Bai Yejin and the others.

In 1993, Shanghai had a department store that many other cities longed to have.

Xuhui District, in particular, is a shopping paradise.

Lin Yifeng got off the bus in Xuhui District and arrived at Pacific Department Store, which opened in Shanghai in 1993.

The department store here is a model that Shanghai imitated in 1993, similar to the shopping malls of the future. It integrates shopping, leisure and entertainment and is the most fashionable place in Shanghai today.

In front of the department store, many smartly dressed women carrying designer bags walked the street, attracting the attention of onlookers.

Lin Yifeng wasn't actually interested in this place; he mainly came to buy some gifts to take back with him.

After entering the department store, Lin Yifeng walked around twice and found that it was not as comprehensive as in later years.

Although Pacific Department Store is one of the top stores in Shanghai, most of its products are luxury goods, followed by cosmetics.

Send cosmetics to Bai Yejin and the others?

This is undoubtedly the most clueless choice a guy could make when giving a girl a gift, because you have no idea what kind of cosmetics she actually likes to use.

Is it suitable? Are you allergic to it?

Instead of buying expensive cosmetics, it would be better to give Bai Yejin and the others a couple of pieces of jewelry.

After walking around for a while, Lin Yifeng became more curious about the sparsely populated luxury stores on both sides of the street.

Although this place is newly opened, most of the shops are still under renovation.

Lin Yifeng sat on a bench prepared in the street, quietly drinking iced water.

Soon, a man in a suit passed by the store and, upon seeing Lin Yifeng sitting next to him, strode over.

"Hey! What are you doing!"

"Why are you slacking off here?"

"The shop owner hired you here not so you could slack off."

Lin Yifeng was slightly taken aback.

Turning around, he saw a man carrying a briefcase and wearing gold-rimmed glasses calling out to Lin Yifeng.

This left Lin Yifeng somewhat bewildered.

But the foreman in the shop quickly noticed the situation and came forward to explain.

The man paused for a moment, then looked at the contractor and then at Lin Yifeng. The atmosphere became somewhat awkward.

After giving instructions to the shop, the man took out a pack of Zhonghua cigarettes from his briefcase and hurriedly walked towards Lin Yifeng, apologizing repeatedly.

"Excuse me, buddy."

"You know what a mess this is."

"Brother, it's my problem. Have a smoke, have a smoke."

Lin Yifeng was both amused and exasperated by the man's sincere expression.

He looked at his equipment and realized it was indeed a bit outdated.

Back in Makino City, he was too lazy to put any effort into this, wearing just an ordinary short-sleeved shirt, loose pants, and sneakers.

To be honest, with Lin Yifeng's gear in such a luxurious commercial center in Shanghai, he really looks like someone who came from out of town to work.

"I don't smoke, it's okay, it's okay."

Lin Yifeng waved his hand.

Upon seeing Lin Yifeng's refusal, the man felt even more guilty and hurriedly told his henchman to buy Lin Yifeng a bottle of water or something. He then sat down next to Lin Yifeng, lit a cigarette, and started chatting.

Lin Yifeng could also tell that the supervisor was probably not a local from Shanghai.

However, the other party's worried expression puzzled Lin Yifeng.

With such a prime location and such thriving business, how could we possibly have any worries?

Lin Yifeng then started the conversation.

"Brother, you're not from Shanghai, are you? You're probably from Northeast China, right?"

"Hey buddy, you can tell from my accent?"

Faced with the man's obvious accent, Lin Yifeng smiled but didn't know what to say.

"This is my first time visiting this department store. I think the location is pretty good. I reckon it will be a huge success once it opens up."

"Ugh, don't even mention it."

The man sighed deeply, his tone tinged with helplessness.

"No one can decide this; it depends on whether the people here are willing to come."

"I took on this outsourcing business, and I haven't even recouped my costs yet."

"This shop is only a third full, who knows if anyone else will come later."
