"There's a meeting this afternoon, and Teacher An will probably be there."
What time will it finish operating?
"It's hard to say. It depends on how long the leader takes. Maybe around four or five o'clock?"
"Okay, I understand."
Lin Yifeng stroked his chin and gave instructions to Zhou Xuelan beside him.
"After the meeting, tell Old Man An that I'll come and have a word with him."
"If I get him on my side first, I should be fine with the exams later."
Zhou Xuelan looked at Lin Yifeng with a puzzled expression, not quite understanding what he was planning to do.
Lin Yifeng didn't explain the matter, but after leaving the office, he called Xu Qingyi.
...
In the afternoon, in the conference room of Zhongzhou University, having just finished a meeting, Old Man An, carrying a thermos, prepared to go home down the stairs.
Just as they were about to turn the corner, Zhou Xuelan hurriedly caught up with them.
"Teacher An, Teacher An, wait a minute."
Old Man An looked at Zhou Xuelan with displeasure.
Old Man An had absolutely no liking for this homeroom teacher who helped students get leave at will.
Putting everything else aside, he was extremely disgusted by that student named Lin Yifeng alone.
Old Man An's tone was also somewhat unfriendly.
"Teacher Zhou, is there anything about work?"
These words left Zhou Xuelan speechless.
What Old Man An meant was that we shouldn't talk about things that aren't work-related.
However, remembering Lin Yifeng's instructions, Zhou Xuelan still forced herself to reply.
"It's like this, Teacher An, a student is looking for you and is waiting for you in your office."
"student?"
Old Man An looked puzzled, but Zhou Xuelan's next words quickly made his face darken.
"Lin Yifeng, that's Lin Yifeng from your class."
"He's looking for you."
"If you have time, could you come over there?"
Old Man An frowned, his tone full of dissatisfaction.
"Hmph, what does he want from me?"
"This Lin Yifeng is quite something."
"I have no right to interfere with him."
Old Man An waved his hand and prepared to leave, showing no respect to Zhou Xuelan whatsoever.
Seeing that the other party was about to leave, Zhou Xuelan was also anxious and hurriedly called out from behind.
"Teacher An, Teacher An, please go there."
"I heard it's something urgent."
"It won't take much longer."
Old Man An looked somewhat surprised to see that Zhou Xuelan still wouldn't give up.
He simply couldn't understand why a homeroom teacher would need to plead for a student's sake.
What he couldn't understand even more was why Lin Yifeng wanted to see him; the two of them had absolutely no connection.
After thinking it over, Old Man An could only conclude that Lin Yifeng felt he was going to fail his course this year and wanted to ask him for help.
Thinking about this made Old Man An even more unhappy.
Just as I was about to refuse, I heard the dean walking over from the corner of the stairs, earnestly advising me.
“Teacher An, if the students have something to say, please listen to them.”
"As teachers, we should try to understand our students."
"You're right, aren't you, Teacher Zhou?"
When Zhou Xuelan saw the dean suddenly come to help, she nodded repeatedly.
Seeing that the dean had spoken, Old Man An felt embarrassed to continue refusing.
On his way to the office, Old Man An became angrier and angrier. He didn't want to come in the first place. If the dean hadn't spoken up and he hadn't had to cooperate with the leadership, he wouldn't have bothered to see this Lin Yifeng.
And so, Old Man An went to his office with a belly full of resentment.
From a distance, he could see three people standing at the door: Lin Yifeng, who was leading the group, and two other young men beside him, one of whom was Meng Ran, whom he had met once before.
As for the other young man, Old Man An did not know him.
He guessed that they were Lin Yifeng's cronies, but they didn't look like the kind of idle young people.
However, both of them were carrying a black bag.
When Old Man An walked into the office and opened the door, he also glanced at the three people behind him out of the corner of his eye.
"What do you want?"
"Just say it directly."
Xu Qingyi and Meng Ran greeted each other repeatedly.
"Hello, teacher."
"Hello, Teacher An."
Lin Yifeng simply smiled, greeted him politely, and then followed him into the office.
As soon as he entered, Old Man An put down his teacup on the table, then looked for the kettle to refill it with hot water.
Lin Yifeng and the other two waited patiently in front of the desk.
At this point, Old Man An was still rambling on and on.
"Lin Yifeng, Lin Yifeng, right?"
"My humble office is hardly worthy of your presence today."
Lin Yifeng smiled and replied modestly.
"Teacher An, you flatter me."
Old Man An glanced coldly at Lin Yifeng, then snorted coldly.
"snort."
"I heard from Teacher Zhou that you wanted to see me about something."
"Just tell me what it is."
Lin Yifeng hesitated for a moment, and waited for Old Man An to sit down before slowly beginning to speak.
"Well, I've been busy with some business lately."
"Teacher An, I may need to ask for leave again next week."
Old Man An frowned, glancing at Lin Yifeng out of the corner of his eye, his tone laced with sarcasm.
"Business? You have business?"
"What kind of business?"
Lin Yifeng only gave a vague answer.
"Just some small businesses."
Old Man An continued to speak in a sarcastic tone.
"This is incredible!"
“Now, my students are starting to take leave from school in order to go into business.”
