Meeting my younger sister
She stopped what she was doing and went to the outside of Li Jinghe's room, waiting anxiously.
"Dongyang! Add some hot water for me," a voice came from inside.
Su Yuexing sighed deeply; just what she feared most had come to pass.
She fetched hot water from the kitchen, carefully pushed open the door, and kept her head down, not daring to look around.
Li Jinghe frowned slightly. "Why is it you?"
Su Yuexing explained, "Dongyang had diarrhea, so he asked me to stay and watch over him for a while."
"The hot water is here, should I pour it now?"
Li Jinghe nodded and said, "Yes."
Su Yuexing didn't dare look into the bathtub, turned her head away, and lifted the bucket to pour water into it.
"Ah!" Li Jinghe screamed in agony.
"What's wrong?" Su Yuexing put down the wooden bucket she was holding and looked into the water.
Li Jinghe's fair skin was red from the hot water. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" she apologized desperately.
He frantically reached out to touch it, and cried out, "Ah!"
Su Yuexing instinctively withdrew her hand, nervously saying, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to."
Li Jinghe's mood for taking a bath vanished instantly after being scalded like that. He said, "Help me up."
"Huh?" Su Yuexing exclaimed in surprise.
"Huh! What? I can't get up by myself?" Li Jinghe said irritably.
Su Yuexing's face was conflicted, "But...but..."
"Do you want me to catch a cold?" Li Jinghe retorted.
Helpless, Su Yuexing bent down and slowly helped him up from the bathtub, revealing his entire body.
She could clearly feel her cheeks burning.
Li Jinghe actually enjoyed seeing her so embarrassed, and said, "Don't be shy, you'll see this sooner or later."
After Su Yuexing sat in the wheelchair, she threw the clothes next to her at him and said, "I'm not a female hooligan."
Li Jinghe lowered his head and let her push him back into the room, his mind replaying the words she had just uttered about the female hooligan.
"You're a female hooligan, and I'm a male hooligan. Isn't it natural for hooligans to be paired with each other?" he said with a wicked grin.
Su Yuexing looked at him in shock and asked, "What are you talking about?"
"Put your clothes on quickly!" she said, turning to leave.
Li Jinghe took her hand and said, "Have we forgotten something important?"
Su Yuexing frowned, puzzled, and asked, "What important matter?"
Li Jinghe leaned closer and said, "That's our wedding night."
He reached out and put his arm around her waist, letting her sit on his lap. "You..." she said.
Li Jinghe stepped forward to kiss her lips, but she dodged backward.
"You don't want to?" he asked.
Su Yuexing said with a serious expression, "Yes, I don't want to."
Hearing her answer, Li Jinghe felt a void in his heart and subconsciously asked, "Why?"
Su Yuexing looked away and did not answer him.
Li Jinghe said, "As my wife, it's perfectly normal for you to do things with me as husband and wife."
"Why are you unwilling? What gives you the right to refuse?" He increased the pressure on his hand.
Although Su Yuexing was in a lot of pain, she didn't want to cry out, as if she were arguing with him.
She struggled to break free from his grasp and said, "Is that your reason? Fine! I'll tell you!"
"Because the identity of Mrs. Li was forced upon me by you, I have no feelings for you."
Li Jinghe shouted, "Su Yuexing!"
"So what!" Su Yuexing had talked back to him so much that she wasn't afraid of him at all now.
Li Jinghe's body was trembling uncontrollably again. Su Yuexing was stunned. She really thought something had happened to him. Ignoring that they had just been arguing, she stepped forward and asked, "What's wrong?"
Su Yuexing held him and placed him on the bed, took a deep breath, and prepared herself mentally.
She dressed him as quickly as possible, and seeing that he was still trembling, she said, "I'll go get a doctor for you."
Li Jinghe grabbed her hand and said, "You know I don't like doctors."
"It will pass by itself, you just stay here with me."
Su Yuexing looked conflicted, but seeing the pleading look in Li Jinghe's eyes, she had no choice but to nod in agreement and say, "Okay."
Li Jinghe discovered that whenever he had an attack, she would soften her heart towards him.
Xie Xuanye's injuries had almost healed, and the clear skies that Li Jinghe had been longing for finally arrived.
Li Jinghe received a letter from the capital. He opened it and said, "Dongyang, go and call Young Master Xie."
"Yes." Dongyang left and soon brought Xie Xuanye in.
"What's wrong, Jinghe?" he asked.
Xie Xuanye handed him the letter, and his pupils contracted upon reading it. "What do we do? My father knows I'm here!"
"No! I need to find another place to hide." With that, he turned to run outside.
“Wait,” he called out.
Xie Xuanye stopped in his tracks and asked, "What? Jinghe, do you have a good idea?"
Li Jinghe said, "Judging from the letter, your father just wants you to get married and start a career."
Why didn't you go with him?
Xie Xuanye laughed and said, "Jing He, don't you know best why I disagree?"
"I'm just like you, I don't like to settle. My wife is definitely someone I like."
"I don't like her, why should I marry her?"
Su Yuexing finished brewing the medicine and walked into the room. Hearing their conversation, her curiosity made her stop.
“Take Su Yuexing, whom you married now, for example. You don’t like her, so you’ve been keeping her out of Xinning Garden.”
“Who said I don’t like her?” Li Jinghe said.
Su Yuexing felt her heart skip a beat.
Xie Xuanye nodded, a mischievous grin on his face, and said, "That's right, you two have developed feelings for each other over time."
Su Yuexing was at a loss for words. Li Jinghe likes me? How could that be?
As she recalled the scenes of her time with him, her face grew redder and redder.
Xie Xuanye continued, "Your uncle's original intention in helping you marry this woman was that he hoped she could cure your illness."
“But I didn’t see it coming. My father wanted me to get married in order to consolidate the family’s power.”
"It was a political marriage! Do you know how much resentment my sister suffered when he forced her into the palace to marry the emperor?" Xie Xuanye said with heartache.
"Now he's going to persecute me again!"
Li Jinghe said, "Perhaps that girl is quite nice?"
Xie Xuanye sneered, "Not bad? I've looked into that girl."
"Her father is the Prince of Chu Yuan, and her ancestors are from the same lineage as the current emperor. She was spoiled since childhood and has an extremely bad temper."
"Why would I marry such a troublesome person? Isn't this just making myself suffer for nothing?" Xie Xuanye said with a bitter expression.
Li Jinghe said, "But running away like this isn't a solution."
Xie Xuanye said, "We can only take it one step at a time. At worst, I'll never go back."
Su Yuexing thought that if she didn't go in soon, the medicine in her hand would get cold, so she knocked on the door and said, "Young master, the medicine is here."
"Come in," Li Jinghe said.
Su Yuexing placed the medicine on the table and then prepared to leave.
"Wait!" Li Jinghe called out.
"When will you take me hunting in the mountains?" he asked.
Xie Xuanye's eyes lit up when he heard about hunting, and he asked, "Where are we going to hunt?"
"Jinghe, you have no idea how badly my bones feel when I'm lying in bed these past few days."
Su Yuexing looked at the weather outside and said, "If it's sunny tomorrow, then we'll go tomorrow."
Xie Xuanye perked up at the news and said, "Tomorrow! Great! I'll go with you."
"I'll go get ready." With that, she disappeared.
"I'm going downstairs now," Su Yuexing said.
Li Jinghe nodded.
The next day, the sun rose.
Cao Lü had been waiting outside. When she saw them leave the mansion, she was excited and ran to tell Li Wanxi.
"Left the manor? Where did they go?" Li Wanxi asked.
Cao Lu said, "I don't know, but I saw they were carrying bows and arrows, so they must be going hunting in the mountains."
Li Wanxi pondered to herself and said, "Send a few people, and then..."
After listening to the order, Cao Lü accepted it and went to carry it out.
The group went hunting in the mountains. Xie Xuanye said, "Su Yuexing, let's have a competition to see who can hunt the most game?"
“Okay!” Su Yuexing replied confidently.
Xie Xuanye thought for a moment and said, "The loser will have to travel from the mountain all the way to the Li residence by crane."
When we came before, we took a horse-drawn carriage to the foot of the mountain, and then Dongyang and the other two took turns carrying him up the mountain.
Su Yuexing readily agreed, "Okay!" So what if she lost? Her purpose today wasn't to hunt at all.
Xie Xuanye looked at Li Jinghe with a smug expression.
“Fine, you two are using me as a wager,” Li Jinghe said.
Fearing that time would run out, Su Yuexing walked towards a certain place and said, "I will not lose!"
Xie Xuanye watched her figure disappear into the grass and said, "Jinghe! Don't worry, I will definitely make her lose to me."
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Yuexing walked over carrying two wild rabbits and said, "Since you're free anyway, roast these two rabbits."
"When we get back, there will be food to satisfy our hunger."
Xie Xuanye looked at her in shock and said, "You're too fast!"
Li Jinghe was also surprised by her speed, and Dongyang, who was standing next to her, praised, "Young Madam, you are amazing!"
Su Yuexing said proudly, "We'll see the results tonight at dusk. Dongyang, you give us the statistics."
"Yes, young mistress!"
Su Yuexing entered the bushes again; no one knew this mountain better than her.
She knew exactly what animals could be found in which places, but all she wanted now was to go home and see her family. She ran as fast as she could, knowing that this route would get her to Xikou Village within an hour.
She suddenly heard cries for help, "Is anyone there? Help! Is anyone there?"
Su Yuexing followed the sound, which was coming from a cave in front of her.
"This trap was specifically set by hunters to catch large animals."
Su Yuexing looked up and was startled by the little girl inside. "Yuewei!"
"Sister!" Su Yuewei was also very surprised to see her sister suddenly appear.
Su Yuexing used the vines nearby to pull her out of the pit.
"Sister!" Su Yuewei said, hugging Su Yuexing with a wronged expression.
Su Yuexing patted her back to comfort her, "What happened? Why did you come out hunting?"
Where are Father and Mother?
Su Yuewei cried, "Sister! Mother and I miss you so much!"
With tears welling in her eyes, Su Yuexing said, "I miss you all so much too."
"Yuewei, tell me quickly, what exactly happened?"
