Wang Qiang looked at Yan Jiecheng and Yan Jiefang sitting to one side and picked up his wine glass.
Looking at Wang Qiang's posture, Yan Jiecheng cursed inwardly: If I didn't need your help today, I would have knocked your front teeth out long ago. Yu Li still ignores me.
Wang Qiang put down his wine glass and pretended to take out a cigarette from his pocket. Yan Jiefang, who was next to him, was quick-witted and immediately took out a cigarette as well.
Wang Qiang saw two packs of cigarettes on the table.
This cigarette is of very low quality; it's also quite difficult to buy good cigarettes these days.
Looking at the simple white paper packaging, Wang Qiang had no interest whatsoever.
"If you're going to smoke, smoke something good. This one tastes like rotten leaves. I can't stand it."
Wang Qiang took out another pack of cigarettes and gave one to each of the three men as he spoke.
"Try this. Once you get used to the taste, you won't want to smoke anything else."
Yan Jiefang took the cigarette and couldn't wait to smoke it: "Uncle Wang is right, good cigarettes are just different."
Wang Qiang laughed. "If you work hard in the future, you'll be able to afford this cigarette too."
Yan Bugui watched his two sons puffing away on cigarettes, feeling a pang of heartache. He didn't smoke his own cigarette, but instead tucked it behind his ear.
The air was thick with the smell of secondhand smoke. Yan Bugui kept inhaling it; the smell was indeed quite pleasant and very satisfying.
"Dad, what are you doing with those cigarettes? If you're not going to smoke them, give them to me."
Yan Jiefang saw Yan Bugui tucking a cigarette behind his ear.
Yan Bugui shook his head: "You want it? Two cents!"
Upon hearing this, Yan Jiefang thought, "Fine, my father is really cunning. He not only schemes against outsiders, but he even schemes against his own son."
Wang Qiang looked at them and found it amusing, wondering if Yan Bugui would feel sorry for them this time.
Yan Jiefang and Yan Jiecheng were feeling down. Although Yan Bugui was paying for it this time, they had agreed that once they got into the steel rolling mill, they would have to give their families an extra 10 yuan each month.
Seeing that Wang Qiang wasn't interested in the cigarettes he had just taken, Yan Jiefang took the two packs back and carefully put them into his pocket.
Then, seeing his older brother Yan Jiecheng beside him with a resentful look, he rolled his eyes.
Wang Qiang coughed and cleared his throat.
He said in a serious tone, "Jiecheng, Jiefang, since you two brothers want to work in the factory, tell me what kind of work you can do?"
Yan Jiecheng nodded, somewhat expectantly, and said, "Okay, I only graduated from junior high school, and my current salary is a little over 30 yuan a month. I was wondering if the steel rolling mill could pay more?"
Yan Jiefang, however, scratched his head: "I'm in a light industrial manufacturing plant, just started working here. Are the wages higher in a steel rolling mill?"
"And I also heard, Uncle Wang, that the person you introduced works in the security department, which is much better than working in the workshop."
Yan Bugui glanced at his two sons and said to Wang Qiang, "Is Xu Damao's position still vacant?"
Upon hearing this, the Yan brothers' eyes lit up. Xu Damao's job was quite good; he rode his bicycle to the countryside every day to show movies.
When they showed movies in a village, the village would provide meals. They could also earn some extra money in the village.
The thought of having a bicycle made them even more excited, since they only had one bicycle at home and it was impossible for them to ride it together.
Wang Qiang stubbed out his cigarette and said, "This job is already taken. But we can try to apply to have you guys help him out or something."
Upon hearing the first part, the two of them deflated like punctured balloons, but perked up again upon hearing the second part.
After leaving Yan Bugui's house, I went to my own room.
A moment later, Qin Huairu pushed open the door and came in. Wearing a floral cotton-padded jacket and with her hair tied up, she first looked at Wang Qiang, and then said timidly.
"Um, my sister wrote to me, asking why you didn't go?"
Wang Qiang then remembered that he had originally planned to go find Qin Jingru, but he was delayed by some things, and then the heavy snow came, so he completely forgot about it.
Qin Huairu was conflicted, but she thought that if Qin Jingru married Wang Qiang, she would be considered her sister, and Wang Qiang would definitely treat her differently in the future.
"Okay, I'll go tomorrow. I've been quite busy with work lately."
Qin Huairu nodded, looking at Wang Qiang who didn't make any further moves, and felt a little strange. Why was Wang Qiang acting differently today?
If it were before, she would already be in Wang Qiang's arms.
"Well, it's nothing else, I'll be going now. My child at home has been sick recently, and my mother-in-law fell outside and can't get out of bed."
Wang Qiang saw Qin Huairu with her head down, her face flushed under the light, and he understood what she was thinking. However, he hadn't fully digested the true energy he had cultivated with her a couple of days ago.
Moreover, he only regarded Qin Huairu as a cauldron for his cultivation.
"Then you stay home and take good care of them!"
Seeing Wang Qiang's coldness, Qin Huairu's eyes reddened, and she turned and left.
the next day.
Wang Qiang left home early to sign in at the factory, and then used the excuse of buying pheasants to go to the countryside.
Because of the heavy snow, Wang Qiang struggled to ride his bicycle through the snow.
"Why didn't I learn to fly? If only I could fly on a sword now!"
Although the biting cold wind wouldn't harm Wang Qiang, such weather was still unwelcome.
By the time Wang Qiang arrived at Qin Family Village, it was already afternoon.
At noon, Wang Qiang found a secluded spot, went into his spatial dimension, ate some spiritual fruits, and roasted a leg of lamb.
Qin Family Village is located at the foot of the mountain. The village has more than 100 households, all of whom share the surname Qin. Due to the heavy snow, everyone in the village stayed at home and no one went out.
As Wang Qiang walked, he scanned the entire village with his X-ray vision. Some men were embracing women in bed, some were beating children, and there was a big yellow dog hiding under the eaves.
Finally, they found Qin Jingru's house on the west side of the village.
Qin Jingru was warming herself by the stove. Her face was flushed red from the firelight, but she was lost in thought, seemingly preoccupied. Her parents, watching from the side, couldn't help but sigh.
Ever since her visit to the courtyard house, Qin Jingru has been either smiling foolishly to herself or lost in thought, muttering to herself, "Brother Wang Qiang, have you really forgotten me?"
It's snowing heavily today, so everyone's staying home. Qin Jingru started spacing out again.
Qin's mother said, "Girl, what are you doing? If you can't marry someone in the city, we'll find one in the countryside and live the same life."
Qin Jingru's face darkened upon hearing this: "What's so great about the countryside? They work hard all year round, and they can't even get enough coarse grains to eat."
As the family was chatting, the gate to the yard was pushed open, followed by the crunching sound of footsteps on the snow.
Qin Huairu jumped up when she heard the sound, almost startling her parents.
"Listen, someone's coming! It must be Brother Wang Qiang. He's come looking for me in this heavy snow!"
Before her family could react, Qin Jingru suddenly opened the door, and sure enough, standing in the snow was Wang Qiang.
