Wang Qiang cleared his throat and solemnly said to He Yuzhu, "Comrade He Yuzhu, I am now giving you a difficult task. I hope you can overcome all difficulties, rise to the challenge, and successfully complete the task."
He Yuzhu was dumbfounded when he heard these words. What was going on?
"Brother Wang, just say what you want to say. I'm not used to you talking like this."
"Here's the thing, we're leaving tomorrow, but the sheep are still on the truck tonight. So, could you please go check on them tonight?"
Before He Yuzhu could speak, Wang Qiang continued, "Today I saw two people circling our truck; they probably had ill intentions. So this heavy responsibility can only be entrusted to you now."
He Yuzhu was stunned when he heard this. He stared blankly at Wang Qiang before he came to his senses.
“This isn’t right. I can’t just go and watch over things by myself. It’s freezing cold tonight.”
Wang Qiang nodded.
“What you said makes sense. How about this, we split the work, you do the first half of the night and I'll do the second half?”
He Yuzhu thought this was a good idea, since only the two of them could go. The rest would either be a woman or Li Yong, but Li Yong wouldn't be willing to watch the car for them.
"Okay, no problem. Brother Wang, whatever you say goes."
He Yuzhu agreed and then went to make preparations.
"Zhu Zi, remember 12 o'clock sharp. We'll hand over our shifts on time. You have to keep an eye on it. If we lose this sheep, we'll lose money."
Wang Qiang didn't forget to add a word of advice. He Yuzhu called out without turning his head.
"Brother Wang, don't worry. As long as I'm here, not a single sheep will be lost, let alone a sheep."
Seeing He Yuzhu leave wrapped in a blanket, Wang Qiang smiled wickedly.
Wang Qiang ran to each room and told Qin Huairu and the others that he was on night duty and needed to rest early, asking them not to disturb him.
After finishing these tasks, Wang Qiang returned to his guest room. He closed the door and entered the spatial dimension. He quickly soaked in the Ruyi Pool, hoping to improve his Palm Thunder cultivation level.
Time passed quickly. Wang Qiang saw that it was almost time, so he came out of the space and went outside to look for He Yuzhu by the truck.
When they found He Yuzhu, he was shivering from the cold, leaning against the carriage, hugging two sheep to keep warm.
"Zhu Zi, how are you? It's time to go back."
He Yuzhu's lips were pale, and he was completely numb. Hearing Wang Qiang's words, he tried to stand up with difficulty, but failed three or four times.
"Brother Wang, can you help me? I can't stand up, my legs are numb."
Seeing He Yuzhu in this state, Wang Qiang had no choice but to pull him up and get him off the truck. After moving around for a few minutes, He Yuzhu finally regained feeling in his legs.
A gust of cold wind blew by, and He Yuzhu couldn't help but wrap his quilt tighter around himself. He noticed that Wang Qiang was only wearing a cotton-padded jacket and hadn't brought any other warm clothing.
“Brother Wang, it’s so cold today. I’m afraid you won’t be able to stand it like this.”
"If you don't mind, I'd like to leave my whole life to you."
Wang Qiang shook his head. "It's alright, I'm fine. You go back and remember to get some rest. We have to leave tomorrow."
Seeing that Wang Qiang did not accept his kindness, He Yuzhu wrapped himself in a blanket and went back to sleep.
Seeing that no one was around, Wang Qiang put the truck into his spatial storage.
He then used his memory to go to his godson Hu Shengli's house.
Hu Shengli was overjoyed to see Wang Qiang arrive and was about to prepare food and drinks when Wang Qiang stopped him.
“Gang’s son, I’ve called you here today because I want to share in the wealth and fortune with you. I don’t know if you have the guts.”
Hu Shengli, nicknamed Hu the Bold, immediately replied upon hearing Wang Qiang's words, "No problem, godfather. I'll go through fire and water without batting an eye."
Wang Qiang nodded in approval. "After you pull off this job, you won't have to worry about food and drink for years."
Hu Shengli rubbed his hands together excitedly. Ever since his last night raid on Section Chief Ma's house, he had discovered that this was a faster way to make money than going to the tomb.
"Okay, then get ready, let's set off now."
Hu Shengli asked, "Godfather, where are we going today?"
"Do you know Director Wang of the Animal Husbandry Bureau? Let's go see him today."
Hu Shengli said, "I know that. People call it the Three Basics."
"Oh, which three?"
Hu Shengli chuckled and said, "I basically don't use my wife, my salary is basically untouched, and I mostly get my cigarettes and alcohol from gifts."
Wang Qiang was stunned after listening to it; it felt like a crosstalk performance he had seen before.
But thinking about it, it's all the same throughout history. Perhaps it's just a summary of the wisdom of others.
"Regardless of how many there are, we basically have to deal with them today."
Hu Shengli nodded. "Godfather, don't worry, I have no qualms about dealing with this kind of person."
"It's not as exciting as going to a tomb."
Seeing Hu Shengli's nonchalant attitude, Wang Qiang tapped him on the head and warned, "Better safe than sorry. Always be cautious, extremely cautious."
As the two were talking, Hu Shengli had already prepared himself, wearing a black cotton-padded coat and a black hat that covered his face, leaving only his eyes showing.
Hu Shengli led the way, and the two of them walked through the streets and alleys until they arrived at Director Wang's house.
Wang Qiang could tell at a glance that Director Wang was much more extravagant than Section Chief Ma; he owned a two-story house with its own courtyard. The upstairs was currently dark, with all the lights off.
Seeing that the courtyard wall was very tall, Hu Shengli explained, "This used to be the house of a landlord. The original family has disappeared, so it has now been allocated to Director Wang."
Wang Qiang pushed off with his feet, leaping up the wall and scraping against it. Hu Shengli, not as agile as Wang Qiang, took a few steps back, then used a running start to climb onto the wall as well.
The two looked carefully into the courtyard and found it to be very clean. In addition to a two-story building, there were two single-story houses on each of the left and right sides.
Wang Qiang climbed down the courtyard wall first, followed by Hu Shengli. The two arrived at the door of the two-story building. Finding the door unlocked, they quietly opened it and went inside.
Although there were no lights, the interior layout could still be roughly seen by the faint starlight. Upon entering, there was a living room with four sofas and a glass coffee table in the center.
Further to the right, against the wall, were two rows of bookshelves filled with various books. The two quickly searched the living room but didn't find anything of value.
He led the group to the left side of the living room. There was a small bedroom there, which looked like it used to be a maid's room. Hua Qiang quietly pushed open the door to the small bedroom.
Unexpectedly, there was indeed a woman sleeping on the double bed in the bedroom.
