Chapter 88 Yi Zhonghai is taken away

Upon hearing Liu Guangtian's report, the police station dispatched two officers to accompany Liu Guangtian to the courtyard house.

Banggeng peered curiously into the yard and saw Yi Zhonghai collapsed on the ground, with no one around to help. His grandmother, Jia Zhangshi, was weeping.

Qin Huairu, the mother, stared intently at Yi Zhonghai, who was lying on the ground, her face dark with hatred. She wished she could tear him to pieces. This old man had ruined her reputation, as if she and he really had something going on.

The way people in the compound looked at him changed.

After investigating the situation, the police officers from the local police station found that Yi Zhonghai was still unconscious.

"This situation is difficult to handle. The suspect has already passed out, so we can't verify what you're saying."

Yan Bugui quickly smiled and said, "Officer, everyone in our compound can testify that what you just said is true. You can get it tested if you don't believe me. Aunt Jia's fingernails are full of flesh and blood she tore from him during the fight."

Then he continued to say to the police officers, "Officers, you can't let the bad guys get away with this, otherwise we won't be safe living in this compound."

The two officers were also in a dilemma after hearing the story. Based on their assessment, although Yi Zhonghai was suspected of attempting to assault Jia Zhangshi, it was an unsuccessful attempt, and he was now unconscious. There was no way to bring him back to the station for questioning.

"I'm glad you're so proactive in maintaining order. Let's take him to the hospital first, and then question him after he wakes up."

The two police officers were in a difficult position, but they had no choice but to comply with their duties.

They also invited Yi Zhonghai's family members, including an older woman.

Wang Qiang stood up and said with a smile, "We are very happy that the two officers were able to uphold justice for us. We will definitely present you with a banner of appreciation. May we ask how we should address you, officers?"

A younger police officer was touched by this. He had just started working and someone was already presenting him with a banner of appreciation, which would definitely help his future career development.

He smiled modestly and said, "Comrade, you flatter me. We serve the people; it is our duty. My surname is Miao, and my name is Miao Dajiang. This is my mentor, Ding Yifei."

Wang Qiang nodded with a smile. "I've noted down both of your names. Officer Ding, Officer Miao, I hope this matter can be handled well. We all want to live a peaceful life."

Yan Bugui felt increasingly uneasy upon hearing this. Could Wang Qiang be trying to climb the ranks, bypassing him, the third uncle?

Why not go up and show your face? He approached the two police officers.

He spoke with particular sincerity. "To be honest, we can't believe that someone like this exists around us. Officers, we hope we can interrogate him properly and see how much more he hasn't confessed."

The two officers felt that they had dragged this out for a while, as Yi Zhonghai was still unconscious. However, they were quite satisfied with what Wang Qiang and Yan Bugui had said.

It wasn't a wasted trip to respond to a call; I was able to bring home a banner, which will be a valuable asset when it comes to year-end evaluations for outstanding individuals and groups.

Ding Yifei: "Dear neighbors, please rest assured, we will absolutely not let a bad person go unpunished, nor will we wrong an innocent person. The facts will be as they are, so please don't worry."

"You guys tidy up the yard first... We'll take him to the hospital first."

Ding Yifei and Miao Dajiang carried the unconscious Yi Zhonghai out of the courtyard. An older woman followed behind, her face ashen. Good heavens, how are they going to live now? Her own husband had actually done something like this.

The older woman felt increasingly uneasy about her uncertain future, and wished Yi Zhonghai were dead so she could have some peace and quiet.

Last night, Yi Zhonghai told himself that he had gathered some food to send to Qin Huairu's family. He said he wanted Qin Huairu to take care of him in his old age, so what was wrong with giving her a little something now?

I never expected the old man to have such a purpose.

At the hospital, the two police officers had a doctor examine Yi Zhonghai. The doctor said he had fainted due to a sudden surge of anger and that an injection would fix it. He then told the family to pay the bill.

The middle-aged woman felt like she'd swallowed fly droppings. She couldn't swallow it, and she couldn't spit it out. But she had no choice but to hold her nose and pay the money.

The doctor had two police officers help pull down Yi Zhonghai's pants and give him an injection in the buttocks.

A few minutes later, Yi Zhonghai slowly woke up, looking completely bewildered.

Ding Yifei shook his head, somewhat puzzled. He knew Yi Zhonghai. He was usually a moral exemplar, managed the courtyard house well, and was a certified level 8 worker at the steel rolling mill. He never expected someone so old to do something like this.

Yi Zhonghai said to Ding Yifei and Miao Dajiang, "Officers, I've been framed. Please don't arrest me."

Miao Dajiang's face darkened. "We will investigate whether you are innocent or not, but now you need to explain everything you have done in detail."

Yi Zhonghai nodded.

After consulting with the doctor and learning that Yi Zhonghai was fine, Ding Yifei and Miao Dajiang took him to the police station.

They arrived at the police station. The officers there saw two people bringing in an old man, followed by an older woman. Some of the officers recognized him and began to discuss the situation.

Yi Zhonghai felt extremely uncomfortable. Was he really going to be ruined?

They randomly found an empty room and had Yi Zhonghai squat in the corner. An older woman waited outside the door.

Ding Yifei glanced at Yi Zhonghai, who was squatting in the corner, his eyes darting around. It seemed this guy was cunning and wouldn't confess so easily.

Miao Dajiang placed a notebook on the table. He looked up, his eyes fixed on Yi Zhonghai, who was crouching in the corner.

Yi Zhonghai has gray hair, but his eyes are very bright.

Yi Zhonghai secretly glanced at the two figures. He didn't recognize the younger one, but he remembered seeing the older one a few times; his surname was Ding.

He was unaware that the two people actually believed seven or eight parts of what the people in the courtyard had said, and were just checking with him.

Ding Yifei saw Yi Zhonghai squatting in the corner, and with a smile, he went over and brought him a stool. He then spoke with a laugh.

"Don't be nervous, just say what's on your mind. Come, sit down first."

“I know something about the courtyard house incident. Logically speaking, the neighborhood committee has praised you as a moral exemplar.”

Upon hearing this, Yi Zhonghai's lips curled up into a smile. It seemed that his years of hard work had paid off and this title was indeed useful.

He smiled and said, "Officer Ding, this really isn't my fault. I was just trying to be helpful by bringing them some flour, and I got framed."

As Yi Zhonghai spoke, he stood up and walked to the bench, intending to sit down.

"Ouch."

Yi Zhonghai missed his target with a thud and landed directly on the ground, nearly breaking his tailbone!

He stared blankly at Ding Yifei next to him, even though it was clearly Ding Yifei who deliberately prevented him from sitting.
