Chapter 60: Filming Completed, First Time as a Lead Actor
"Don't run, see where you can run to!" Mother Yang stared at the cockroach.
There are indeed cockroaches in my house, and not just one.
Mother Yang was swatting cockroaches with a broom, hitting them here and there. Miao Guifeng snorted coldly when she saw this.
"You'd better be able to hit that cockroach." Miao Guifeng said, "Once there is one cockroach, there will be many cockroaches, and they will be everywhere in the corners."
"..." Mother Yang did not answer Miao Guifeng, she continued to beat the cockroaches.
"Guifeng." Miao's mother stood in front of Miao Guifeng holding the child.
"Mom, come in." Miao Guifeng said.
After Miao's mother arrived, Miao Guifeng, her mother, and the eldest child slept on the bunk bed, while the younger child slept on the smaller bed, which had previously belonged to Miao Guifeng's eldest son. Because the space was too small, Yang Bingrong slept on the floor in the living room.
Yang's mother and her men must be careful when they go out at night so as not to step on Yang Bingrong.
One night, Miao's mother took Miao Guifeng's eldest daughter back to the countryside, bringing some milk powder with her. Miao Guifeng also gave her some money. If Miao Guifeng hadn't given them some money, her sister-in-law would have said that Miao Guifeng only cared about raising the child and treated it as if it was free.
In her previous life, Miao Guifeng's eldest daughter complained that her life in the countryside wasn't easy. She said she was chased by dogs and that all the things Miao Guifeng and her husband had sent were given to her aunt's children by her aunt. Miao Guifeng, having heard those words in her past life, decided to send her eldest daughter to the countryside in this life. She felt that her eldest daughter had been quite obedient and sensible in her past life, and that she was quite filial. She decided to send her daughter to the countryside. If she had a second and third daughter, she would send them there for training.
If Miao Guifeng didn't send her children to the countryside, it was probably because she earned more money.
Miao Guifeng didn't feel too reluctant to part with her daughter. What she had experienced in her previous life was just a repetition in this life.
Many people in the compound knew that Miao Guifeng had sent her child to the countryside, but they didn't say much about it. Whether the child had settled down there, or where, was of little concern to them.
Jiang Yuqin and Wang Chunfen had a falling out. When Jiang Yuqin was discharged from the hospital, Wang Chunfen did not go to see her. Wang Chunfen did not want to waste time on Jiang Yuqin anymore. No matter how good she was to Jiang Yuqin, Jiang Yuqin did not care. Jiang Yuqin only had Ding Chao in her heart.
Jiang Yuqin herself told others about the falling out between her and Wang Chunfen. She told others that Wang Chunfen always provoked her and Ding Chao, saying that her miscarriage had nothing to do with Ding Hongwang, and Wang Chunfen even said that it was Ding Hongwang who was to blame. They could no longer be friends.
"I've been friends with her for so many years, but she really doesn't understand me at all. Fortunately, she knew me very well before."
"It's not that I don't want to be friends with her, it's that she doesn't want to be friends with me."
"She doesn't understand me, nor does she respect my husband. Is that how she would talk about my man?"
"Hongwang is so young, yet she still says that."
…
Jiang Yuqin said this deliberately to let Ding Chao know that she had truly broken up with Wang Chunfen. She had no intention of continuing to be friends with Wang Chunfen, nor did she think that Ding Hongwang had caused her miscarriage. In order to make Ding Chao happy and to clear herself of suspicion of Ding Hongwang, Jiang Yuqin said this to Wang Chunfen.
After this news spread, some people thought Jiang Yuqin was crazy. Wang Chunfen was right. Jiang Yuqin had worked so hard to raise someone else's child, and that was why she had a miscarriage. How could this matter not be related to Ding Hongwang and Ding Chao? It was just that Jiang Yuqin loved Ding Chao too much, and whatever Ding Chao did was right.
Aunt Zhao, who is a big mouth, of course spread what Jiang Yuqin said everywhere.
When Wang Chunfen heard the news, she was very disappointed with Jiang Yuqin. She had long known that Jiang Yuqin would do a lot for Ding Chao, but when she encountered these things, she was still very sad. Wang Chunfen was really thinking about Jiang Yuqin and wanted to make Jiang Yuqin feel a little more relaxed, but Jiang Yuqin blamed Wang Chunfen.
At the filming site of "Dream of Red Mansions", Jiang Moli's scenes were finished and the filming was wrapped up.
Jiang Moli breathed a sigh of relief. When she was acting, she was worried that she would not perform well, and she also wanted to communicate with others.
Some people in the crew had a good relationship with Jiang Moli, and when Jiang Moli finished filming, someone even ordered a cake. Of course, they didn't smear the cake on Jiang Moli's face, but cut it into pieces and shared them.
When the director saw these people eating cake, she wanted to shake her head and say, "Keep in shape, stay in shape."
The director suspected that these people were celebrating the completion of Jiang Moli in a fake way, and that eating cake was real.
"Director, you have some too." Someone brought a piece of cake to the director.
"Don't get fat," the director reminded the actors. "Men and women, eat less. Don't get fat. Don't get fat."
The director was afraid that these people would gain weight. The filming took a long time, so many actors had to pay attention to what they ate, especially those who were prone to gaining weight.
"It tastes good." Jiang Moli said, "It's soft and sweet but not greasy."
"Eat, eat more." Ruan Songling said with a smile, "They've been wanting to eat something delicious for a long time, but they haven't been eating because they're trying to control their diet. It's perfect for them to eat now that you've finished filming."
"It's okay to eat it occasionally." Jiang Moli said.
"Other people are still wrapping up their filming. We'll have a chance to eat depending on when it's finished." Ruan Songling asked, "When are you going back?"
"We'll go back early the day after tomorrow," Jiang Moli said. "It's already late today, so we'll take a short rest tomorrow."
Jiang Moli calculated the time. According to her secondment schedule, she would be flying back the day after tomorrow, which wasn't too late. The room the crew had booked also allowed Jiang Moli to stay until the day after tomorrow, after all, she was filming a night scene. Some scenes were indoors, but the director still waited until night to shoot, using screens during the day. The director felt that this didn't look natural enough, and waiting until the actual night would be more natural.
Therefore, Jiang Moli basically sleeps during the day and films here at night these days.
"That's fine." Ruan Songling said, "You usually shoot night scenes, which are tiring."
"Aren't you guys also going to shoot night scenes?" Jiang Moli said, "It's all the same. Everyone is working hard."
"Eat, there's more, eat quickly." Someone next to her asked Jiang Moli to eat quickly. In addition to the cake, there were some other foods.
After the wrap party, Jiang Moli went back to the hotel to rest.
During the day, Jiang Moli didn't go out shopping, but rested well in the hotel. She was really tired. Those scenes were shot over and over again. If the lighting was not good, they would shoot again. If someone didn't perform well, they would shoot again. If they couldn't see where they were dissatisfied, they would just feel it was not good enough, so they would shoot again.
Jiang Moli followed those people to film over and over again. There were many people in a scene, and that was how it was. There were always various situations.
When Jiang Moli returned to Nancheng, Sheng Jiahao went to pick her up as usual.
"Don't you have anything to do?" Jiang Moli asked.
"Let others do the work." Sheng Jiahao said, "I don't come to the airport to pick you up every day."
The airport is some distance away from the city, and Sheng Jiahao felt that he would feel more at ease if he came to pick up Jiang Moli in person.
"A couple of days ago, someone disappeared after leaving the airport, and they haven't been found yet," Sheng Jiahao said. "I don't know if they took a taxi or some other form of transportation. Since they haven't been found yet, I'm afraid something must have happened. For ordinary people, they're not kidnapped for ransom, they're basically just robbed and murdered."
When Sheng Jiahao saw the news, he became more and more worried. He had to come and pick up Jiang Moli himself and make sure she was safe.
"Something happened?" Jiang Moli was surprised.
"Don't think that just because Nancheng is a big city, nothing will happen," Sheng Jiahao said. "If something happens, it happens."
"We still have to be careful," Jiang Moli said, "With you here, nothing will happen."
"Yeah." Sheng Jiahao nodded. "Try not to travel alone on business trips in the future. If you do, be more careful and avoid taking public transportation alone."
"Okay." Jiang Moli said, "I'm going to film this time, and it's all night scenes. I don't have time to buy gifts, so I didn't bring any for you."
"The gift isn't the main point. What's important is that you return safely." Sheng Jiahao said, "It's always hard filming night scenes, isn't it?"
"It's hard work," Jiang Moli said. "I feel okay, but others have worked even harder. Some of them have been attending Red Mansion study classes for quite a while, while I haven't had to go to any yet. Those people are really, really hardworking. As soon as they start acting, they get into the groove and feel like they're actually in the Red Mansion. And the senior actors are all really good. It ended the night before yesterday, and I took a day off yesterday before returning."
"You've worked so hard, how can you not rest?" Sheng Jiahao said, "Don't worry about them not arranging a hotel for you. At worst, you can just book a room there with your own money."
"The hotel was booked by the crew," Jiang Moli said. "I didn't need to book another one. The crew also said I could take a short break and didn't need to rush back."
Jiang Moli didn't rush off immediately. She still had time, so she took a short break. Jiang Moli cared about her health and couldn't tire herself out.
On the way Sheng Jiahao sent Jiang Moli home, they also bought some food to take back to Jiang's house. Jiang's mother cooked a table of dishes and asked Sheng Jiahao to stay and eat together.
"Look, you've lost weight." Jiang's mother picked up some food for Jiang Moli. After not seeing her for half a month, she noticed that her daughter's face had lost a lot of weight. "Your father bought this meat early this morning. It's beef brisket, and he stewed it especially for you. Your father heard that this beef contains high-quality protein and iron, which is perfect for you."
Jiang's mother made stewed beef brisket with potatoes and added tomatoes. Jiang's mother is a very good cook and the stewed beef brisket tasted particularly good.
"Thank you, Dad." Jiang Moli said to her father.
"Eat more." Jiang's father said, and then he looked at Sheng Jiahao, "Jiahao, you eat too."
"Eating." Sheng Jiahao said.
"I won't be polite with you." Jiang Moli ate a piece of beef brisket, not even thinking about eating more rice. Just a small bite of rice was enough. "Delicious."
"How is the food on the crew? Are you not used to it?" asked Jiang's mother.
"It's a little hard to get used to. We all come from all over the place, and our tastes are quite different," Jiang Moli said. "And the crew can't prepare meals that suit everyone's tastes, so we all have to eat together. I'm okay, I still eat some food. If I don't, I won't have the energy to shoot at night. To stay energetic at night, I rest more during the day. Those days, some people had to shoot daytime scenes. I was one of the lucky ones, so I had to shoot the night scenes. That honor guard was so big and magnificent."
Jiang Moli sighed, "The crew really put a lot of effort into making the scenes very good. The people who came to visit the emperor were also arranged very well. The female officials also performed well."
"The props team worked hard, the set design team worked hard, everyone worked hard." Jiang Moli said.
"Did you have a new experience?" asked Jiang's mother.
"Yeah." Jiang Moli nodded. "If I have the chance in the future, I can still play some roles like this. If it's too important, I don't have that much time, and people won't ask me to play it. It's just some simple roles, just shoot them, that's all."
Mother Jiang continued to pick up food for Jiang Moli. She also served her some chicken soup. Later, Mother Jiang served Sheng Jiahao some soup.
"I'll do it." Sheng Jiahao said quickly.
"Thanks to you for picking up Jasmine at the airport," Jiang's mother said. "Without you, I don't know how she would have gotten back."
"Wait for the bus." Jiang Moli said, "It's not too late. There are buses from the airport, but it depends on the time. If you miss it, you'll have to wait."
There are special buses from the airport to the city, but whether they can go directly to your door depends on the situation. They usually stop at a few stations, and you can get off at a station close to your home.
"That would take a long time," Jiang's mother said. "It wouldn't be as fast as Jiahao picking you up. If you took the bus, you might still be on it now."
"That's a possibility." Jiang Moli said.
"The quilt cover in your room has been washed, and the sheets have also been washed and put up," Jiang's mother said. "When the sun was shining, we even dried the quilt in the sun. The temperature has fluctuated quite a bit recently, and it's getting much colder at night."
"It's warm here with mom here." Jiang Moli said with a smile.
Sheng Jiahao went back after dinner. Jiang Moli wanted to wash up and rest early, so Sheng Jiahao couldn't stay any longer. Jiang Moli also asked Sheng Jiahao to tell Teacher Lu that she didn't bring any gifts this time and asked Teacher Lu to forgive her.
When Teacher Lu heard what Sheng Jiahao said, she laughed, "There's no need for this kid to bring a gift. She's on a business trip, working, not bringing us gifts on purpose. Is Jasmine doing well on the set?"
"From what she said, it went pretty smoothly." Sheng Jiahao said, "Auntie cooked a lot of dishes, and I got some of the credit."
"Hello, Jasmine," Teacher Lu said. "Her family is nice, too."
"Jasmine will come to see you another day." Sheng Jiahao said.
"Don't worry." Teacher Lu said, "Let Jasmine have a good rest."
Teacher Lu knew that Jiang Moli did not buy anything from the filming location, but if Jiang Moli came, she would still bring something with her.
After Jiang Moli washed up, she didn't go to bed immediately. She washed her hair and had to wait for it to dry. Jiang Moli originally wanted to fall asleep, but she also thought that the sheets had been washed fresh, so she had to wash them thoroughly from head to toe.
Jiang Moli turned on the fan and then sat on the sofa to watch TV.
"Mom, did anything happen at home while I was away on business?" Jiang Moli asked.
"Nothing happened," Jiang's mother said. "If there was anything, it was that Jiang Yuqin had a miscarriage, and Miao Guifeng had her mother take her daughter to the countryside."
"Miscarriage..." Jiang Moli was surprised.
"Yes, Jiang Yuqin had a miscarriage. Not only did she have a miscarriage, she also had a falling out with her best friend." Jiang's mother said.
"Is that Wang Chunfen?" Jiang Moli asked.
"Yes, that's her," Jiang's mother said. "Jiang Yuqin is now saying that Wang Chunfen instigated her to act against her husband and her adopted son, and that Wang Chunfen is vicious."
"..." Jiang Moli's lips curled slightly, "Wang Chunfen is really too good to Jiang Yuqin."
"Even if I treat her well, no matter how good I am to her, it's useless. I can't let it go." Jiang's mother said, "Jiang Yuqin only thinks about her man."
Jiang's mother hadn't expected Jiang Yuqin to have a falling out with her friend at this point, rather than using this opportunity to ask Ding Chao to temporarily send their adopted son to the Ding family or elsewhere. Someone like Jiang Yuqin really wasn't worth making close friends with. No matter how well others treated her, she would betray her friends for a man. In Jiang Yuqin's eyes, friends were worthless.
"Don't be like Jiang Yuqin," Jiang's mother said. "You don't know what's good or bad about others, you only think about men."
"I wouldn't do that." Jiang Moli said, "I'm not stupid."
"It's okay as long as you're not stupid," Jiang's mother said. "I'm just worried that you might become stupid. Women are prone to this."
"I'm not Jiang Yuqin. I can't be like her." Jiang Moli said, "If Jiang Yuqin wants to be a great stepmother, let her be."
Jiang Yuqin later behaved like this. Jiang Moli didn't know if she had other thoughts deep down in her heart. Anyway, Jiang Moli felt that Jiang Yuqin would sooner or later have other problems. Jiang Yuqin was completely controlled by Ding Chao. Unless Jiang Yuqin no longer loved Ding Chao, she would probably treat Ding Chao and his people badly. Otherwise, Jiang Yuqin would just think that others were trying to destroy the relationship between them.
"That's right," said Jiang's mother.
Jiang Moli glanced at her father, who was sitting next to her watching TV. He had nothing to say. Jiang's father no longer had any fatherly affection for Jiang Yuqin. He was more concerned about the fact that he had been cuckolded, and that those people had deliberately let Jiang Yuqin cause trouble in his home. Jiang's father now felt disgusted at the thought of Jiang Yuqin. Even though the Jin family had given him compensation, Jiang's father was still very dissatisfied. That little money was not enough to make up for the damage his family had suffered.
"I didn't buy any gifts when I came back. I'll go buy some things from the store tomorrow and visit Jiaojiao and the others." Jiang Moli said.
"You're going to work," Jiang's mother said. "Every time you go on a business trip and buy gifts, you have to consider whether you have enough money. If you don't have that much money, and you still want to buy things, who will you ask for the money?"
"Looking for you, Dad." Jiang Moli said.
"I don't have that much money to give you." Jiang's mother smiled. "I don't have a job anymore. I'm just a housewife."
"Let dad give it to me, let dad give it to me." Jiang Moli said.
"How much do you want?" asked Jiang's father.
"Give it to Mom, and ask her to make more delicious food for me." Jiang Moli said, "When I was on the crew, I ate pretty well and didn't have to pay special attention to my figure. I never gained weight. Some of the other girls on the crew only ate vegetables and didn't dare to eat too much meat. When I was wrapping up filming, I bought a cake and shared it with everyone. When the director saw it, he asked them to eat less, fearing that they would gain weight. They are not like me. I have fewer scenes and finished filming early, while they still have a long time to shoot."
"Weren't you afraid of eating too much and getting fat before?" Jiang's mother said, "If you want to go on stage, your figure will be important."
After Jiang Moli's hair was almost dry, she went to bed.
The next morning, Jiang Moli bought some peach blossom cakes, biscuits and other things and went to her brother and sister-in-law's house.
"I was in such a rush on my business trip that I didn't buy anything there, so I came back to buy some food for the kids." Jiang Moli rubbed Zhao Jiaojiao's head. Jiaojiao was already in the second grade. "Have you studied hard?"
"I studied hard and practiced the piano well." Zhao Jiaojiao said quickly, "Auntie."
"Take it and eat it." Jiang Moli put the food on the table. "After eating, you must brush your teeth well. You must brush your teeth well to avoid damaging your teeth. Rinse your mouth after eating. Biscuits and other things easily stick to your teeth, so rinse it well."
Jiang Moli always likes to say a few more words. Her teeth in her previous life were not very good. She had a resin filling in her thirties. Jiang Moli searched online and found that many people had fillings. Some parents really didn't know anything. When their children had toothaches, they didn't think of taking them to the dentist, but told them to bear it.
"I understand." Zhao Jiaojiao nodded. She opened her mouth wide and asked her aunt to look at her teeth. "Aunt, my teeth are fine."
"That's good." Jiang Moli said.
Zhao Jiaojiao had already started to change her teeth. She listened to her aunt's advice and brushed her teeth well, not wanting to damage them. Niu Cuihua didn't understand that. She thought that since Jiang Moli had said so, she let Zhao Jiaojiao brush her teeth well.
There weren't many delicious foods at home these days, so Zhao Jiaojiao rarely ate snacks, especially sweets. It wasn't just Zhao Jiaojiao who ate less; her brother also ate less.
"You didn't buy anything on your business trip, so you don't need to buy anything when you come back." Niu Cuihua said, "These things cost a lot of money."
"I bought it, you guys take it." Jiang Moli said, "It's not very valuable."
"Are you going to work?" Niu Cuihua asked.
"Well, I have to go to work this afternoon." Jiang Moli said, "I still have to participate in rehearsals and can't delay them. There will be a performance in a few days, and I have to perform with everyone."
"It's too hard," Niu Cuihua lamented. "I can't even rest properly after a business trip. I still have to work."
"It's always like this," Jiang Moli said. "Working in the office is always hard. My situation is still pretty good. I get allowances for business trips, so it's not a loss."
"Is the subsidy a lot?" Niu Cuihua asked, then realized she shouldn't have asked that question and quickly said, "I don't mean anything else. You don't have to say it, you don't have to say it."
"The subsidy is average, not very much," Jiang Moli said. "Most people are still unwilling to travel for this subsidy. It depends on what the business is."
The crew gave Jiang Moli some remuneration. It wasn't high, but she was happy to take it. The important thing was to do the job well and achieve the ideal state she wanted.
When Jiang Moli went shopping just now, she met Jiang Yuqin. When Jiang Yuqin saw Jiang Moli, she turned sideways, not wanting Jiang Moli to see her. Jiang Moli did not walk in front of Jiang Yuqin. It didn't matter what kind of life Jiang Yuqin lived, it had nothing to do with Jiang Moli.
In the afternoon, Jiang Moli went to the unit. The people in the unit asked Jiang Moli what it felt like to go to film a movie. They all knew that Jiang Moli was going to film "Dream of Red Mansions".
"Understand the role and act well." Jiang Moli said, "We must respect the etiquette teacher and not think of the so-called rules in the same way we think."
They perform operas that tell stories from different eras, and they also have to study certain etiquette and rules. But opera is performed on stage, so sometimes they make adjustments to the body movements to make them look more beautiful.
"You are lucky to have met the right time." Teacher Li sighed.
"Teacher Li, don't you think I shouldn't be performing?" Jiang Moli asked, "I'm not concentrating on singing."
"How long can you perform?" Teacher Li said, "The crew you met this time was very dedicated, that's why they took so long. Maybe next time you go to act, it will take less time, just a few days."
"Have you acted in it?" Jiang Moli asked again.
"I made a cameo appearance," Teacher Li said. "It was finished in two or three days, and I didn't have any scenes."
Teacher Li's ideas are not that old-fashioned. He doesn't think that those who perform operas must only perform operas and cannot do other things.
"You don't go there every day. Do you think you will have so many opportunities to go?" said Teacher Li.
"There aren't that many opportunities," Jiang Moli said, "my focus is still on singing."
Jiang Moli still wanted to sing well, and it would be great if she could win a major award in the future. That would be a comfort to herself. Last year, relevant departments established an award for Chinese drama. Jiang Moli remembered that this award was not originally called the Plum Blossom Award, which means that the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from the bitter cold. The current name of the award is not this, but the Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Actress Award for Drama Stage.
Jiang Moli also wanted to win such an award. The current winners were all seniors who had been singing for many years and had participated in many performances. This was the honor that those seniors deserved, and Jiang Moli envied them.
During the break in the rehearsal, some young people including Qiao Yuwei sat next to Jiang Moli and asked her questions.
"I heard they built a new house. Is that true?"
"When you act out the play, is it the same as when we did the opera before?"
"Did they really read Dream of the Red Chamber together? Did many people sit there and read together?"
…
Jiang Moli heard these questions and answered them one by one. She didn't think these questions were too naive. Jiang Moli answered them seriously, and her colleagues were very happy to hear her answers. Jiang Moli never acted superior, nor did she think she was better than her peers, nor did she think of making things difficult for colleagues who were a few years older than her. Everyone worked in the same unit, so of course they had to get along well.
To make matters worse, when Che Lijuan was arguing with her husband, her husband directly told her about Jiang Yuqin's life experience.
At this time, Che Lijuan realized that her in-laws had already known about Jiang Yuqin's life experience. Since outsiders did not know Jiang Yuqin's life experience, Che Lijuan's in-laws assumed that they did not know either. After all, it would not sound good if this matter was made public.
Che Lijuan was stunned at the time, and after that, she didn't dare to argue loudly with her husband anymore. Che Lijuan went back to her parents' home and told them that her husband's family knew about Jiang Yuqin's life experience.
"Didn't you say those people didn't know? How come my in-laws all knew about it?" Che Lijuan asked, "Is it that everyone else knows about it, but we are the ones in my family who are just pretending that they don't know?"
Che Lijuan felt distressed when she thought about it. In order to prevent her in-laws from knowing about Jiang Yuqin's life experience, she gave Jiang Yuqin money and arranged a job for her. Now, her in-laws already knew about it, but she didn't know when they found out.
"My in-laws told me not to give money to Jiang Yuqin anymore. They know everything!" Che Lijuan's eyes were red.
"This..." Jin Manzhi hesitated for a moment, "Don't worry, you have already given birth to a boy for their family."
"Mom, so many people know this, are you still going to go along with Jiang Yuqin?" Che Lijuan asked, "What's so good about Jiang Yuqin that we should go along with her? She only cares about benefits, benefits, and more benefits. She doesn't even consider us. She just makes us keep paying for her and says we owe her."
Che Lijuan didn't feel that she owed Jiang Yuqin anything. She didn't owe Jiang Yuqin anything, not from the beginning.
"Oh." Jin Manzhi didn't expect that Che Lijuan's in-laws already knew about it.
Che Lijuan's in-laws only found out about Jiang Yuqin's background after she got married. After they learned about it, they tried to pretend they didn't know. What else could they do? They couldn't let everyone outside know about Jiang Yuqin's background. After all, Che Lijuan was Jiang Yuqin's half-sister.
"Anyway, I can't control Jiang Yuqin anymore," Che Lijuan said. "If she can still do that job, then she can do it. If she can't, then forget it."
"Yuqin just had a miscarriage not long ago." Jin Manzhi said, "She still has to do the work. She's not afraid of getting her shoes wet."
Jin Manzhi didn't want Jiang Yuqin to come and make a scene, so she had to comfort Jiang Yuqin.
"Mom, you only know how to say that." Che Lijuan said, "You have to go along with them. You go along with her, but I won't go along with her!"
Che Lijuan said a few words and then went back. It was impossible for Che Lijuan to really get angry with her in-laws. Even if she gave birth to a son, she still had to bow her head. Who made her mother do such a shameful thing?
Jin Manzhi wanted Jiang Yuqin to continue working, but Che Lijuan's in-laws felt that Jiang Yuqin could continue working, but she couldn't be as lazy as before. If Jiang Yuqin didn't intend to work hard, then she should be kicked out. The factory manager didn't say much to Che Lijuan's in-laws, but they still knew what Jiang Yuqin was like.
When Jin Manzhi went to see Jiang Yuqin, she told Jiang Yuqin about this.
"You should work hard in the future," Jin Manzhi said. "Your sister's in-laws all know about this, and they won't allow your sister to help you anymore. So don't ask Lijuan for money anymore. They probably realized something was wrong because you asked your sister for money so often."
"I'm like this..." Jiang Yuqin was still very weak.
"That's just your own stupidity," Jin Manzhi said. "I heard you and Wang Chunfen had a falling out?"
"It's her fault," Jiang Yuqin said. "My man hasn't even come back yet, and she's already saying those unpleasant things to him. It would have been fine if she'd just said them in front of me, but she let him hear them. Isn't she trying to destroy my family?"
Jiang Yuqin didn't want to divorce Ding Chao. If they divorced, it would be like taking Jiang Yuqin's life. Jiang Yuqin wanted to be with Ding Chao for the rest of her life and couldn't be separated from him.
"Don't go looking for Lijuan." Jin Manyi said.
"If you don't want to look for them, then don't look for them. You just care about them. Do you still remember that I am your daughter?" Jiang Yuqin asked.
"I... when did I ever think you weren't my daughter?" Jin Manzhi asked. "Although you lived in the Jiang family for those years, didn't you visit your grandparents every year? We weren't bad to you. Jiang Yuqin, you had a miscarriage now, are you losing your mind?"
Jin Manzhi never felt that she had done anything wrong. She should have left Jiang Yuqin in the Jiang family. Only then could she and her husband live a more stable life, and her second sister would not be so upset because she knew about the incident too early. After so many years, her second sister learned about it too late, and her second sister's mental state was much better. This was all because she had her children to tie her down.
Jin Manzhi was a selfish person. She hadn't told her second sister and second brother-in-law that Che Lijuan's in-laws knew about it. She thought that maybe only Che Lijuan's in-laws knew about it, but no one else knew. If the rest of the Jin family knew about it, they might not be willing to give money to Jiang Yuqin. Jin Manzhi couldn't let them not give money. If they had to give money, they would have to give it to Jiang Yuqin together. That way, Jin Manzhi would have less to bear.
"Rest for a while, then go back to work," Jin Manzhi said. "That's the job your sister's in-laws found for you. They got you in through the boss's favor. When you go back to the company, work hard. People always think it's a private company. Private companies are private companies. If you can go back to your original company, then go back."
The key issue is that Jiang Yuqin can't return to her old job. Her company isn't performing well, and I've heard more people are stopping work. Factory leaders are considering selling the factory, and if that happens, Jiang Yuqin and her colleagues won't be able to return.
These things had nothing to do with Jiang Moli. Jiang Moli didn't care and didn't say much.
In October, Jiang Moli starred in the production of "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai." She had initially worried that since she'd been away on a business trip for nearly two weeks, her supervisor might ask someone else to replace her, potentially preventing her from performing. Fortunately, they chose Jiang Moli to play Zhu Yingtai, and the other actress wasn't upset, though she admitted she wasn't as good as Jiang Moli. She'd initially thought Jiang Moli would fall behind in rehearsals after a two-week absence, but surprisingly, she didn't, and she performed exceptionally well.
This was Jiang Moli's first official starring role of such importance. When she was younger, she'd sung important roles with other children, but that was different. Jiang's mother, father, Sheng Jiahao, and others all attended to support Jiang Moli, as did Teacher Lu and his wife. The rest of the Sheng family didn't go; they hadn't studied opera and weren't particularly passionate about it. Teacher Lu hadn't asked them to accompany her, so they didn't go.
When the other members of the Sheng family went to the opera, they basically accompanied Teacher Lu so that he would not feel so lonely.
"If Yingtai were to wear a red dowry, would you, Brother Liang, be willing to be her partner..." Jiang Moli was singing on the stage.
Jiang Moli was not stage fright and she sang very well.
Teacher Lu was listening on the stage and nodded.
In a corner, He Jingxian was listening. She hadn't recovered her figure after giving birth, and now she was practicing at work, but they hadn't let her perform on stage yet. Second Aunt Qi thought there was no need to rush. He Jingxian had given birth to a daughter, not a son, so she would have to have another one. It didn't matter whether He Jingxian performed on stage or not. The Qi family didn't lack that little money.
He Jingxian and Qi Shixin came to listen to the opera together. She had come out to listen to the opera alone before and left too late, which made her in-laws unhappy. He Jingxian simply asked Qi Shixin to come with her. Qi Shixin didn't like to come, but he still came with He Jingxian.
"I looked, is it her?" Qi Shixin asked.
"It's her." He Jingxian said, "It's Jiang Moli. She really got such an important role."
He Jingxian thought about herself again. She didn't think she was much worse than Jiang Moli, who hadn't married or had children yet. He Jingxian wondered if she could have been like this with Jiang Moli if she hadn't gotten pregnant and had children. She was afraid she couldn't. Even if she hadn't gotten pregnant and had children, the Qi family would have forced her to get pregnant and have children quickly. He Jingxian's environment was different from Jiang Moli's.
"She..." He Jingxian opened her mouth and closed it again.
"I told you not to come, but you still came." Qi Shixin muttered.
Qi Shixin felt He Jingxian's loss. He didn't think He Jingxian had to play any important role. It was enough for He Jingxian to have a job.
"..." He Jingxian felt even more upset after hearing Qi Shixin's words. These people didn't know what she was pursuing. They all thought that since she had stayed in South City and joined the South City Drama Troupe, she should be content and have a child soon, and a son at that.
He Jingxian's eyes were slightly red. She looked at Jiang Moli. She really wanted to be Jiang Moli. How great it would be if she, He Jingxian, could directly turn into Jiang Moli after waking up.
"Women should get married and have children early." Qi Shixin said.
"Could you please speak a little more quietly?" the people behind them reminded Qi Shixin and He Jingxian, "Even if you don't listen, we still have to listen."
Qi Shixin and He Jingxian could only shut up for the time being and not say anything more, so as to avoid being criticized by others. They couldn't disturb others from enjoying the opera.
After the performance, when the actors were still taking their bows, Qi Shixin was about to stand up, but He Jingxian pulled him and asked him to sit down for a while.
"Wait a moment." He Jingxian begged. Although others had already left, if she stood up now, it would be easy for the people on the stage to see her. He Jingxian didn't want Jiang Moli to see her. Even though she knew Jiang Moli would probably not pay attention to her, she still wanted to wait a little. After more people around them had left, they followed the others.
"Let's go." Qi Shixin didn't sit down again. "It's all over. Let's go back!"
"If your wife doesn't want to go back, you can stay with her for a while longer." Someone nearby heard what Qi Shixin said and said.
