Chapter 14: The Heavyweight of Tantrums

"Yes, I've thought about that too." Wang Shouren carefully tidied Qin Huairu's slightly messy hair. This slightly ambiguous action made her blush a little, but all of that was suppressed by Wang Shouren's next words.

"I've asked around, and this situation is illegal. You can go directly to the Women's Federation to file a complaint. Current policy encourages remarriage."

"But I don't want to get married again." Qin Huairu shook her head. Clearly, Bang Geng still held a higher place in her heart.

However, this also shows that Wang Shouren had completely gotten her to lower her guard and open up.

"Yes, I know, but you can use this to negotiate with Jia Zhangshi. Sister Qin, you should know what Jia Zhangshi is most afraid of."

"What is she afraid of?" Qin Huairu was taken aback.

"Are you afraid you'll run away? The rest is up to you." Wang Shouren patted Qin Huairu's plump figure, urging her to stand up.

Qin Huairu blushed; she knew she shouldn't stay there any longer.

She turned around, about to tell Wang Shouren that they couldn't continue.

Her lips were pressed tightly against someone's.

She was startled and was about to resist when Wang Shouren withdrew.

For some reason, she felt a little disappointed, and her face showed shame and anger: "You... how could you do this?"

Her tone carried a hint of coquetry, though she herself was unaware of it.

Wang Shouren blinked his innocent eyes: "How so?"

I'm ignoring you!

"Wait, here you go." Wang Shouren took a small box out of his pocket and stuffed it into Qin Huairu's hand: "I bought some clam oil. It's not expensive. Don't hurt your hands too much in winter, or I'll feel bad."

Qin Huairu looked down at the clam oil in her hand, somewhat dazed. She hadn't touched anything like it in ages.

When Jia Dongxu was around, she could use him, but...

"Okay, sure." Qin Huairu lowered her head, stopped talking to Wang Shouren, and ran off in a hurry.

Wang Shouren smelled the lingering scent of his body on his hands, smiled, walked to the table, took a deep breath, and drank a large mouthful of cold water to cool himself down.

Qin Huairu returned to the house in a state of utter confusion.

"Where's the food?" The child was already asleep in the room, and only Jia Zhangshi was there, staring at the outside world with her triangular eyes.

"Where did the food come from?" Qin Huairu was stunned for a moment, then realized what she had been doing outside, and said angrily, "Food, food, where did all that food come from! Sha Zhu isn't a fool, he has a sister to support too."

The imagined storm did not materialize. Madam Jia Zhang simply looked coldly at Qin Huairu: "Why is your face so red?"

Qin Huairu sneered: "Go walk outside for ten minutes and see if your face turns red."

Jia Zhangshi looked at her suspiciously: "Then why didn't you bring back any food?"

"Are you just going around in circles and not explaining yourself clearly?" Qin Huairu sneered. "I'm not going to beat around the bush with you. If you continue like this, I'll go to the factory tomorrow and give the job back to your Jia family. You can give it to whoever you want! I quit!"

Madam Jia's eyes widened, momentarily questioning the meaning of life. But as a seasoned veteran, she reacted swiftly, immediately slapping her thigh and wailing, "My son!!! Old Jia!! Let's go!!"

The wailing was so loud that even the people in the next yard shook their heads with amusement: "That old woman is up to her old tricks again."

Sure enough, the cries immediately attracted the attention of everyone in the hospital.

When everyone arrived at the central courtyard to watch the play, Jia Zhangshi was already sitting on the ground, slapping her thigh and wailing:

"Which bastard is seducing my daughter-in-law! Help! Someone help me! Old Jia!! You died too soon, come down and take a look! Oh! Son, your mother is useless..."

To be honest, Wang Shouren had his eyes opened.

What is a necromancer? What is the king of shrewish women?

If this guy actually wrote down what he said, the book would probably be banned soon.

Putting everything else aside, the information coming out of Jia Zhangshi's mouth is really exciting.

Is Qin Huairu leaving?

All the neighbors were talking about it.

At this moment, an old man came out, looking at Jia Zhangshi with a very unpleasant expression. Their courtyard had become famous since Jia Dongxu died.

Most importantly, he couldn't manage it. How could he, a grown man, manage the mother and wife of his deceased apprentice? It was a difficult situation to discuss, so he could only let it be.

"Jia Zhangshi! Zhang Xiaohua! What are you yelling about again?!"

Hearing the old man's angry shout, Jia Zhangshi was not angry but happy, as if she had found a way to vent her anger. She scrambled to the old man's side and hugged his leg tightly: "Old man! Old man! You must stand up for me!"

When that crying tone, which had a touch of Peking Opera flavor, came out, Wang Shouren almost couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Wow, that's amazing! This is the first time I've seen someone throw a tantrum with such skill.

The old man was stunned by Jia Zhangshi's move. He was helpless and didn't want to ask anything. But Jia Zhangshi had already sung the song, and if he didn't explain clearly, Qin Huairu wouldn't be able to see anyone tomorrow.

At this moment, Qin Huairu said nothing, did nothing, and simply stood there wiping away her tears. She was just like any other wronged young wife in an ordinary family.

"Jia Zhangshi! Get to the point!" the old man roared, his chest heaving. Even though he was usually good-tempered, he couldn't stand Jia Zhangshi's behavior.

"If you're unwilling to talk about it, then we'll go to the neighborhood committee and talk to them!"

Upon hearing this, Madam Jia realized something was wrong; the old man seemed genuinely angry.

Jia Zhangshi had her own understanding of tantrums. In her view, those tantrums that left everyone humiliated were the tantrums of the weak, lacking any skill whatsoever. But hers—making a scene until everyone obeyed her, and yet she didn't even have to go to jail—that was the kingly level of tantrums. Therefore, knowing when to stop and being opportunistic were things she knew how to apply, even if she didn't know the exact idioms.

"Oh my god! I don't know which damned bastard, the one who gave birth to a son without an anus, was seducing my daughter-in-law!! He made my daughter-in-law..."

As Jia Zhangshi sang and cursed, she was about to continue.

Sha Zhu's voice rang out: "Jia Zhangshi, you're bullying Sister Qin again!"

Sha Zhu was rewarding himself in his room and didn't run out immediately. After the battle, he rushed out and saw Qin Huairu crying, which broke his heart. He immediately stood up and spoke with righteous indignation.
