Chapter 261 The Eight Generals of the Thousand Gates

"I'd only believe you if you didn't look so pained," Wang Shouren rolled his eyes.

"That means what I said wasn't wrong."

The couple argued and bickered as they headed into the factory.

When the gatekeeper, Old Qiu, saw Wang Shouren, it was as if he had seen a ghost.

"Hey kid, you actually know how to come back?" Without saying another word, Grandpa Qiu stopped Wang.

"Uncle Qiu, didn't we tell you not to guard the gate anymore?" Wang Shouren said helplessly. This old man had gotten himself arrested and hospitalized last time for catching a spy. Why was he still guarding the gate? He glanced at Qin Jingru.

"What are you looking at! This old man asked for this himself, it's fine for him to stay at home."

"Why don't you go play chess with the old man? What are you doing here?"

The old man in Beijing has quite a few hobbies in his spare time: walking his birds, playing chess, and occasionally dabbling in antiques. Antiques aren't that expensive these days, so he can afford them all. But this old man doesn't really like those things; well, he prefers to be a doorman. Sometimes Wang Shouren (a famous Chinese historian) even wonders if he should change his surname to Qin.

"I like it!"

"Alright, alright, I won't say that much to you, I still have to get to work."

"Go now, just looking at you annoys me!"

Despite his obvious disdain, Grandpa Qiu's proud little expression loudly proclaimed to everyone that the old man was a proud and arrogant person.

Everyone in this factory knows how good Wang Shouren is.

After chatting with Grandpa Qiu at the door for a few minutes, I went to the office.

As soon as I entered the office, I saw a round thing wriggling.

Qin Jingru stared wide-eyed in disbelief. Seemingly sensing something behind her, Xu Weiwei said without turning her head, "Jingru, my glasses fell into the crevice. Can you help me find them? I can't see."

"Smack!"

Xu Weiwei suffered a severe blow from behind. She turned around angrily, about to unleash her fury, when she saw Wang Shouren and Qin Jingru's furious faces: "Tell me, did you know he was back and did it on purpose!"

Qin Jingru said that she couldn't help but admire how perfectly round her breasts were.

Wang Shouren silently shifted his gaze slightly and looked out the window.

Xu Weiwei's face turned bright red in an instant, and even wisps of heat emanated from the top of her head.

"Ahem, you guys keep chatting, I'm going to check on Old Man Zhuge." Wang Shouren coughed twice and immediately ran off.

To be honest, seeing such a beautiful view when he woke up in the morning made it all worth the trip.

Just as I was coming out of the office, I saw Kui Datou rushing over: "Big Brother, you've finally arrived."

"What's wrong?" Wang Shouren immediately put on a serious expression.

"Are the people from Qianmen targeting our factory?"

That's it?

"Isn't that enough?"

"Almost there." Wang Shouren pursed his lips; he already knew that before he came.

To be honest, the flaws in a mediocre cheating technique are obvious at a glance, while better ones are more subtle. But the best cheating techniques are right under your nose; if you're not paying attention, you won't even notice them. Only experienced people like Wang Shouren can spot them.

"Boss, that's the Thousand Gates, the Upper Thousand Gates, not the Lower Thousand Gates."

"No matter how many tricks they have up their sleeves, no matter how much they've inherited their skills, they're still just a bunch of swindlers. The problem is how we should use them to teach those below a lesson. You gather some information, don't rush to arrest them yet. I'll contact Old Wu and tell him to get ready."

Upon hearing Wang Shouren's words, Kui Datou paused for a moment, then scratched his head: "Yeah..."

In truth, Kui Datou's thinking had always remained rooted in the days when he was still helping the Lou family run their establishments. Or rather, he had never felt the need to use his position to do anything for them.

The brothel owners looked down on the Buddha, but the Buddha was also part of the Lower Thousand Gates. They dared not provoke the Upper Thousand Gates; at least, they knew that the "Wind General" and "Fire General" of the Upper Thousand Gates were not easy to mess with. They instinctively sensed something was wrong.

But Wang Shouren was different. The Eight Generals of the Thousand Gates were, to put it bluntly, nothing more than rats in the gutter.

What is his identity? Why should he be afraid of these things? What he's thinking about is how to use these people to spread awareness about the dangers of gambling. These people always have a period of overconfidence when they have money, and he can take advantage of this to cool them down.

"Take this time to find out who's behind this. Also, allocate some funds to let people gamble on it, but find someone who can control themselves, understand? Don't drag others into it, that's not good."

"An undercover agent? I get it! Don't worry, I have people to handle it!"

In an alley not far from the motorcycle factory.

This place wasn't originally densely populated; in terms of wealth, it was just one of the slums in Beijing. However, with the rise of the Dayun Motorcycle Factory, the houses here became increasingly valuable. Walking further into the West Alley, to the very end, in a corner, there's a small house that everyone in the neighborhood recognizes.

Calling it a single-courtyard house would be an exaggeration. Despite being enclosed on the outside, the inside is just a small room, seemingly built from scraps during the construction of the house.

Legend has it that this house was once used to keep a mistress, and the mistress, who was poor, eventually died here. From the outside, the house is dilapidated and eerie, especially at night when it is often said to emit the wailing sounds of a woman, which are extremely terrifying. The people living nearby quicken their pace whenever they pass by.

But inside this place, which is known as a haunted house, a group of people have gathered.

Everyone was wearing a mask, which looked quite strange.

The leader sat in the main seat, behind him stood a person wearing a demon mask, and on each side sat three people.

The masked man at the head of the group spoke.

"How was the harvest last night?"

“Boss, those bastards are really rich.” The third man on the left spoke up, his tone full of greed: “We spent a whole night, and each of us spent a thousand dollars. They didn’t react except for being envious. They’re really rolling in money.”

“A thousand yuan is small change,” the leader said. “According to our intelligence, the guys in the factory have anywhere from a thousand yuan to tens of thousands of yuan in their pockets. We don’t touch the ones with tens of thousands of yuan. Remember that.”

Why?

"Those who made tens of thousands are high-ranking employees in the factory. If they find out, it's another story whether we can even survive."
