Chapter 133 New Varieties of Vegetables

"The new varieties of vegetables are all sold out," the salesperson said.

"Sold out? So fast? Weren't you told there would be enough supply?" Wang Jing said.

"Sorry, we're out of stock."

When will there be stock?

"We don't know either."

“My dad said that each person is limited to one or two ounces of seeds, which is enough for everyone at the base. How could they have sold out? There must be something fishy going on,” Wang Jing said quietly to Xu Lin as she turned around.

"You're buying new varieties of vegetables, right?" a man asked as he approached.

“Yes, but they’re all sold out,” Wang Jing said, glancing at the person who spoke.

“I have some here,” the man whispered.

"Isn't it limited to one per person? How come you have one? Will there be any problem?" Zheng Ming asked.

"Don't worry about the seeds, they're absolutely genuine, but I can't tell you where they came from," the man said, patting his chest.

“We wouldn’t dare buy from an unknown source; it would be a waste of points if we bought it and couldn’t grow it!” Xu Lin said.

"Hey! It's okay if I tell you, I have a relative in the supply department, we can get as many seeds as you want, as long as you can afford it." The man pulled Xu Lin and the others to a secluded spot and said.

Supply Department?

Xu Lin and Wang Jing looked at Zheng Ming, who also wanted to look in the mirror. He was from the supply department, so why hadn't he gotten any seeds?

"How much are your seeds?" Xu Lin asked.

"50 points per tael, no limit."

"The official rate is only 5 points per tael, but you're giving it ten times that? That's outrageous!" Wang Jing said angrily.

"You can't buy 5 points per ounce, right? And you can only buy one ounce, but I have no limit here," the man said proudly.

"Never mind then, we won't buy it," Zheng Ming said.

"Let me tell you, I'm the only one in the entire base with this stock. You'll regret it if you don't buy it!"

Wang Jing pulled Xu Lin and turned to leave, with Zheng Ming and Zhou Pin following behind.

"Linlinzi, let my dad and Zheng Ming go to the workplace to see what's going on. If we can get some, we'll share some with you."

"Okay, thank you. We live at No. 44 in the villa area. If you have any seeds, you can come and find me."

Zheng Ming went home to ask Lao Zheng about the situation, while Xu Lin and Wang Jing wandered around the service hall for a while before going home. Wang Jing bought daily necessities such as oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar, while Xu Lin didn't buy anything and accompanied Wang Jing to browse through each stall.

“I’ve discovered that being a secondhand dealer is really profitable, maybe I should try it too?” Xu Lin said to Zhou Pin when they got home.

What do you want to sell?

“There are a lot of luxury goods in the space. Those bags, clothes and shoes are all limited editions from big brands. The space doesn’t accept them. They just take up space. We can make money by selling them.” The more Xu Lin thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

“We can go through Zheng Ming’s channels,” Zhou Pin said after a moment’s thought.

"Right, I forgot they're from the supply department, connecting the top and bottom. They should know a lot of wealthy people. We can ask them once the seed issue is settled."

The next day, the two stayed at home and didn't go anywhere. Zhou Pin continued his must-do activity every time he was off work—building a house.

The original plan was to build a garage and warehouse to the right of the main gate. Thanks to Zhou Pin's efforts, only the topping-out work remains, and it will be completed this weekend.

A few days later, Xu Lin was feeding the chicks in the backyard when the doorbell rang at the front gate. It was Wang Jing.

Xu Lin opened the door and welcomed Wang Jing in. From the moment Wang Jing saw Xu Lin, she kept talking.

"Linlinzi, this place is so great! It's close to the road, but it's also a bit far from the other villas."
