The two fished and shrimped until 10 o'clock, when Zhou Pin called a halt.
"Let's act quickly."
Tonight, Brother Long organized a get-together with several of his key confidants for food, drinks, and entertainment. He probably has a new pet, as he takes it everywhere. The party ended early, around 10 PM. Brother Long was drunk and had to be helped back to his bedroom. Shuke, like a loyal lackey, followed with Beta, dutifully playing the role of a lackey.
"It's finally over. I'm sick of hearing those compliments. This is such a pie in the sky, you'd definitely be a leader in a pyramid scheme."
"Let's go."
Zhou Pin and Xu Lin drove towards the gathering place, only to find the gate wide open when they arrived.
"It actually worked!" Xu Lin said, glancing at Zhou Pin.
"You have to trust the dog you own."
Zhou Pin assigned tasks to Shuke and Beta: Shuke was responsible for following Brother Long to steal the key, while Beta kept a low profile by putting drugs into the water to knock everyone out.
It seems Beta has succeeded so far, but we don't know how well Shuke has done with his mission.
As soon as the two entered, Beta came out and led them to the courtyard where Brother Long was. Shuke also came out when he heard the noise, and spat out a bunch of keys with a smug look on his face.
"Well done!" Xu Lin patted Shuke's head.
Upon entering Brother Long's bedroom, Xu Lin raised an eyebrow. This was clearly an attempt to cultivate her imperial demeanor in advance! The room was decorated in an antique style, with a main seat resembling a dragon throne in the reception area—it was practically covered in RMB banknotes as wallpaper.
First, they went to see Brother Long, who was lying unconscious on the "Dragon Bed." Zhou Pin tied him up and dragged him to the yard, while Xu Lin packed up everything in the house.
The two split up. Zhou Pin took Shuke to find people and dragged them all to the yard, while Xu Lin took Beta to Long Ge's warehouse to collect things.
Beta took the lead and brought Xu Lin to a place with the word "warehouse" on it. There were seven large warehouses in total. Xu Lin took out a lock-picking tool that she hadn't used in a long time.
Upon opening the first warehouse door, Xu Lin discovered it was a cold storage room, filled with cold air. Xu Lin shivered. A quick glance revealed a variety of meats: fish, shrimp, crab, beef, lamb, pork, chicken, duck, goose, and so on. She quickly packed everything up and moved on to the next warehouse.
The second one is also a cold storage, filled with vegetables and fruits, including leafy greens such as cabbage, spinach, rapeseed, coriander, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, romaine lettuce, lettuce, endive, potatoes, lotus root, chives, green beans, and yams.
Fungi include oyster mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, seafood mushrooms, lion's mane mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, and silver ear mushrooms.
Fruits include watermelon, apple, pear, banana, tangerine, orange, pomelo, pineapple, durian, mangosteen, mango, cantaloupe, grape, cherry, strawberry, peach, apricot, plum, longan, loquat, and even crabapple.
Xu Lin picked up a crabapple and ate it, thinking to herself that if the apocalypse hadn't come, she wouldn't even be able to eat a crabapple.
The third warehouse contained grains, mainly various types of rice, flour, and oil. These included rice, millet, sorghum, oat rice, broken rice, purple rice, sago, black rice, wheat flour, millet flour, sweet potato flour, sorghum flour, bean flour, corn flour, glutinous rice flour, cake flour, low-gluten flour, high-gluten flour, red yeast rice powder, matcha powder, cocoa powder, corn starch, sweet potato starch, sesame powder, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, soybean oil, olive oil, animal oil, sunflower seed oil, corn oil, and so on.
Xu Lin felt that Brother Long had a much more complete collection than she did, and thankfully she had his warehouse to expand her storage.
