Chapter 161 Digging for Herbs

Zhou Pin was covered in dust, and when Xu Lin hugged him, both of them became muddy figures.

"We'll be going into the cave soon, so I won't change my clothes yet. Let me tell you, Shuke and Beta just took me to dig up a lot of ginseng. We'll keep the big ones and plant the small ones in our space, and then we'll achieve ginseng freedom."

"good."

"Gurgle..."

Xu Lin gave an awkward smile; her stomach was growling.

“Finding ginseng is indeed wonderful, but Ms. Xu, shouldn’t we have our brunch first?” Zhou Pin said with a smile.

"Brunch?"

"Who's so excited this morning that they don't even have time for breakfast and have to blow up a cave first?"

"I forgot, hehe, no wonder I'm so hungry. Let's go inside the space to eat, it's all dusty here."

The two quickly washed their hands and faces and started eating. Xu Lin ate three bowls of rice in one go, showing that she was really hungry.

After finishing her meal, Xu Lin was fully recharged. She pulled Zhou Pin out of the space. There was no more smoke and dust outside, but there was still some inside the cave.

"Let's go dig for ginseng and herbs first, and then go into the cave at night," Zhou Pin planned.

The two people and two dogs began their experience as medicine boys.

Shuke and Beta would call Xu Lin to dig up the ginseng they found, while Zhou Pin would dig up other herbs and saplings that weren't in the space; the division of labor was clear.

Zhou Pin doesn't dig up all herbs; he only digs up a few of each kind to plant in his space later. So the main purpose is to enrich the variety rather than the quantity.

After an afternoon, Xu Lin harvested 136 ginseng plants and 122 Ganoderma lucidum plants. Zhou Pin was more impressive, harvesting Scutellaria baicalensis, Cimicifuga foetida, Dictamnus dasycarpus, Paeonia lactiflora, Atractylodes lancea, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Bupleurum chinense, Adenophora stricta, Rubia cordifolia, Centipeda minima, Astragalus membranaceus, Trollius chinensis, Rosa rugosa, Veratrum nigrum, Echinops latifolius, Clematis chinensis, Polyporus umbellatus, Aconitum carmichaelii, Lithospermum erythrorhizon, Euphorbia fischeriana, Angelica pubescens, Corydalis yanhusuo, Rhodiola rosea, Setaria viridis, Pulsatilla chinensis, Pyrola rotundifolia, Cistanche deserticola, Plantago asiatica, Taraxacum mongolicum, Polygonatum odoratum, Platycodon grandiflorus, Hemerocallis fulva, Gentiana scabra, Panax ginseng, Fritillaria cirrhosa, Codonopsis pilosula, Schisandra chinensis, Agrimonia pilosa, Rhodiola rosea, Solanum nigrum, Artemisia argyi, etc. Although the quantity was not large, the variety was great.

Zhou Pin's herbs were all sorted and put away, and Xu Lin put them into her space to plant them when they returned to the base.

"Let's eat first, then go to the cave," Xu Lin said.

After digging all afternoon, Xu Lin was starving, but she was in a hurry to get to the cave, so she took out two egg pancakes, two roujiamo (Chinese hamburgers), and two bowls of eight-treasure porridge from her spatial storage for dinner.

After finishing their meal, the two of them didn't rest. They changed into protective suits, put on gas masks, turned on their headlamps, and entered the cave with torches in hand.

Shuke and Beta were not taken on this mission; they were left to wait in the spatial dimension. The other side was within the Northeast region, so the two decided to go there, collect supplies, and return directly to base from the Northeast, avoiding retracing their steps.

The cave had settled down, and it became narrower the further in you went. At first, there was room for two people to walk side by side, but later only one person could pass at a time. Zhou Pin led the way, while Xu Lin brought up the rear.

After walking for half an hour, the two finally arrived at the cave where Zhou Pin had stored the supplies. This cave was much larger than the one Long Ge had, and the supplies there were several times more abundant.

"Wow, Zhou Pin, you've hidden so many things deep in the mountains!" Xu Lin was dazzled.

“Now they are all yours,” Zhou Pin said.

"Doesn't it hurt your heart?" Xu Lin asked with a grin.

"You should be more careful with yourself, after all, I'm yours now," Zhou Pin said with a smile.
