"A third of this is bottled water. Here are compressed biscuits, instant noodles, and canned goods. The things I brought back last time came from here. Here are clothes, shoes, and socks. Here are dehydrated vegetables and sweet potatoes. Here are seeds and seedlings. And here...and here..."
The person on the screen walked around the secret room, and thanks to him, Xu Lin gained a basic understanding of Zhou Pin's supplies.
“You think you can just say whatever you want? I bet you’re dreaming about it!” said companion A.
If she didn't have her own personal space, Xu Lin would also think the other person was dreaming if she encountered something like this.
"You can't say that, Xiao Chen found the secret mechanism in the room," said companion B.
“He might be telling the truth, but he might not be entirely telling the truth. He did come here before and went into the secret room, but there were no supplies inside,” said companion C.
Xu Lin nodded, agreeing that the most powerful lie is one that mixes in the truth.
“I think you’re all right, I’ll listen to the boss,” said Ding, looking at one of the men.
Xu Lin wanted to laugh. Where did such a cute little kid come from? She wanted to pet him.
“Xiao Chen wasn’t lying. The owner of the supplies must have moved them. Look, there are still marks on the ground where they were crushed by heavy objects,” said Ding, who was looking at the person. This person must be the leader.
“The boss is right,” said Ding, his companion.
The others nodded in agreement, and Xiao Chen straightened his back, which had been bent by the reprimand.
Xu Lin thought to herself, "As expected of the boss, her analysis of the problem is spot on."
"But... how did he manage to transport the supplies away?"
This person is intelligent.
“Boss, something’s not right about this big rock. I don’t remember seeing any rocks here before,” Xiao Chen said, pointing to the rock that Xu Lin had placed.
"This young Chen has a good memory," Xu Lin remarked to the screen.
"That's good. He can remember roughly all those supplies," Zhou Pin also praised Xiao Chen.
In the video, several people work together to move the stone, revealing the passage behind it.
"He must have taken the supplies from here," the leader said.
"What a pity," said companion A.
“What a pity, it originally belonged to someone else,” said companion B.
"Alright, let's stop thinking about those things and go back to mushroom digging," the eldest said.
The group left the darkroom. Xu Lin and Zhou Pin decided to return directly to the base and stop collecting supplies nearby. Since these people had found the cave, it meant they were active in the vicinity. There was little left to collect or dig in the area, so there was no need to waste time.
After finalizing their plans, the two rested to recharge for their journey the next day. They had been away for six or seven days and were starting to miss home.
Because collecting supplies saved time, the two were not in a hurry on the return trip. They collected supplies wherever they could along the way, digging for herbs, wild vegetables, saplings, and cutting down trees.
When I'm in a good mood, I pick some wildflowers. The temperature is just right now, and everywhere is full of vibrant life, which makes me feel much more relaxed.
In some places, you can still see people cultivating crops. When the granaries are full, people know etiquette. People can eat their fill and stay warm, and there are fewer fights and brawls. Maybe I was just lucky and didn't encounter any robberies on my way back.
"I'll be at the base this afternoon. I'm a little homesick," Xu Lin said, looking at the map.
"Take everything out; there are people from the base moving around up ahead."
Xu Lin wanted to take out some of the supplies collected during this "honeymoon trip" so that they could be used openly when she returned to the base.
