Chapter 168 Untitled Draft

"A telescope? I have one at home too. I'll see what you're up to later." Good grief, it turns out I've been watched all along.

What you did was illegal!

"What law are you breaking? Which law in the base says you can't use binoculars to look at the scenery?" Xu Lin said casually.

"You! If you look at me like that, I'll report you to the base!"

"Sue me for what? Sue me for having binoculars? That doesn't make sense."

"You just wait!" The old lady turned and left.

"Don't go! I haven't finished yet. Let me see what you have at home. If there's anything I want, I can bring it to exchange for chives," Xu Lin called out.

The old lady ran even faster, and quickly reached her home across the street, closing the door behind her.

Xu Lin watched her go home from behind, then closed the door and went back to her own home.

Zhou Pin had already finished cutting all the chives in the yard. Knowing that Xu Lin hadn't argued with anyone in a long time, he didn't go to the door to help her. Instead, he went to the kitchen to get a glass of warm water and brought it over.

"Have some water to soothe your throat," Zhou Pin said, handing the water to Xu Lin.

"I haven't had enough yet. We'll continue next time she comes," Xu Lin said, taking a sip of water.

Zhou Pin smiled helplessly.

"I'm going to work tomorrow, and it's still early. Should I plant the mushrooms?"

“Okay, plant them in the warehouse in the yard, and plant the garlic sprouts there too. I’ll go upstairs and see how things are at the old lady’s house.”

"You go ahead, I'll do the planting."

Xu Lin ran up to the rooftop and took out binoculars to look at the old lady's house.

The old woman was jumping up and down in the yard, probably cursing Xu Lin. It was hard to hear clearly from a distance, but she kept pointing in this direction as she cursed.

The courtyard was small, and there were about ten people standing there, all listening to her curse. One of the men even tried to calm her down; it was unclear whether he was the one using binoculars.

Xu Lin hadn't paid attention to the other villas before, but compared to them, her own home was much better. The old lady's yard was small and noisy due to its proximity to the road, unlike her own home, which had a large yard where she could grow plenty of vegetables and grains.

Xu Lin guessed that the old lady's son might have seen Xu Lin and the others packing things with binoculars at home, but he didn't know what they were, so the old lady came over to see.

This was quite an eye-opener; the smell of chives filled the air as soon as I stepped outside.

There are no chives at the base right now, so Xu Lin is growing seeds that she took from her space, saying that she dug them up from Inner Mongolia.

After seeing the old lady's situation, Xu Lin lost interest in watching the pantomime and came downstairs.

I glanced at the clock; it was already 5:30, but the sky showed no sign of getting dark. The polar day was slowly approaching.

The sun doesn't set until after 7 p.m., and the dogs return before sunset every day, already resting in their comfortable beds.

"I'll get up with you tomorrow and then we'll practice together," Xu Lin said while eating.

"Okay, I'll call you then."

Zhou Pin is perfect in this respect. He doesn't make Xu Lin give up because he thinks the practice is too hard. Instead, he wakes her up and helps her find her shortcomings.

After dinner, Zhou Pin washed the dishes while Xu Lin watched a variety show. After Zhou Pin finished washing the dishes, Xu Lin took out her yoga mat and started doing aerobics.

Xu Lin felt she had gained weight recently, probably because she was only eating and not exercising. So she made a resolution to get up early to train with Zhou Pin, then do chores, and then do aerobics after dinner in the evening. She believed that if she continued this routine, it would definitely have an effect.

Zhou Pin watched Xu Lin doing her aerobics, making Xu Lin feel embarrassed.

Why are you staring at me like that?
