Chapter 204 Fishing

Before they even reached the beach, the two were stopped. Xu Lin glanced at Zhou Pin, thinking that there were always opportunists taking advantage of people's misfortunes.

"Going to catch seafood?" the leader asked.

"What's it to you?"

"This girl's tone is pretty sharp. Does the newcomer not know who's in charge of this area?"

"Who is in charge?"

"Of course it's me, Zhao Ye. Hand over the supplies, or you'll force your grandfather to take action."

"I won't pay."

"Hey, pretty cocky. Brothers, tell them how to talk to Master Zhao." The leader waved his hand, and seven or eight men rushed forward.

Xu Lin and Zhou Pin exchanged a glance, both seeing eager anticipation in each other's eyes.

The two ran straight at each other, and Xu Lin swung her Tang sword, slashing at each other without any mercy.

Ten minutes later, the battle ended, and the result was self-evident: the opponents were lying on the ground.

The two walked past the crowd towards the sea. The person in charge of guarding the beach looked at the letter of introduction in Zhou Pin's hand and checked their ID cards. Zhou Pin then slipped them a pack of cigarettes before letting them in.

There weren't many people on the beach, probably because of the robbery. What Xu Lin didn't know was that the locals didn't enter through the official entrance. They were born and raised here and knew this sea like the back of their hand. The few people she met on the way were just trying their luck on the outskirts of the beach.

Zhou Pin took out a speedboat from his backpack, inflated it, and pushed it into the sea. The two of them then got in and rowed to a secluded spot.

Before it got dark, the two took out their fishing nets and fished like everyone else. Xu Lin even saw someone dive in and come out three minutes later with three or five sea cucumbers and abalone.

Xu Lin sighed: "Those who live near mountains eat from the mountains, those who live near water eat from the water, and those who live in space can eat anything."

Zhou Pin cast his net and caught about ten crucian carp. Xu Lin quickly took them down and put them in the net bag hanging on the speedboat. She would store them in her spatial storage when it got dark.

After about an hour and a half of fishing, it started to get dark, and the others gradually went home. When only Xu Lin and Zhou Pin were left on the sea, Xu Lin took out their diving gear, and Zhou Pin put it on. The two of them then plunged into the water.

The seabed resources are quite abundant, and Xu Lin didn't care what was there; she just collected everything into her spatial storage. Zhou Pin also put some fish, shrimp, and crabs into a net bag, which Xu Lin would collect later.

The two worked for half an hour, then came out of the water to get some fresh air, rested for ten minutes, and went back into the water.

Around 1 a.m., as dawn was breaking, the two returned to the inflatable boat to rest for a while before Zhou Pin started fishing again. Starting around 2 a.m., people gradually came over, and Xu Lin and Zhou Pin had caught almost everything, so they rested on the shore and ate something.

Xu Lin entered the space to check her work. There were flounder, grouper, yellow croaker, and ribbonfish, but not too many species. It seemed she would still have to go to the deep sea.

"Let's go explore the deep sea tomorrow night," Xu Lin said.

Because of Zhou Pinna's letter of introduction, the two of them could stay at sea for five days, while ordinary people could only come in for half a day at a time and had to leave.

When the two came in, they only carried backpacks, buckets, and nets. To go to the deep sea, they needed a boat, so Zhou Pin had to go to the person in charge of the sea area to borrow a boat.

After resting on shore until seven o'clock, presumably when the person in charge had gone to work, Zhou Pin took a carton of cigarettes and two bottles of liquor to borrow a boat.

Half an hour later, Zhou Pin emerged, having acquired the boat. Someone led the two to the dock and then left; thankfully, Zhou Pin had prior experience driving a boat.

It was a small fishing boat, so dilapidated it couldn't be worse, and Zhou Pin steered it away, swaying precariously.
