Chapter 223 Another Antique Exchange

Go to the same city? To the coal mine? Xu Lin didn't ask any more questions and just told Zhou Pin to go and find out.

"Sister Chen, did you bring back any treasures from your trip to the Western Province?" Xu Lin is currently quite interested in antiques.

"Absolutely, we're saving them all for the girls! They're waiting."

After finishing her speech, Sister Chen left the meeting room and pulled out two suitcases from behind the counter.

"These are all top-quality goods, take a look."

Xu Lin's eyes widened as she watched Sister Chen open the box, revealing bronze artifacts, gold, silver, and jade pieces inside. Truly, this province of Xi is renowned for its abundance of fine things.

"How are these priced?" Xu Lin asked.

"These are all good things, so we should get this amount."

Sister Chen gestured 5, so there should be 50. Xu Lin brought 40 this time, and will take out another 10 from her storage space in the tricycle later.

"Okay, I'll go get it now."

Xu Lin went to the tricycle to get her bag. Actually, it wasn't just a bag, but also various accessories, belts, cufflinks, perfume, etc. For now, Xu Lin only took out the bag from the storage space to change.

Xu Lin brought the bag in, and Sister Chen counted it, confirmed that everything was in order, and then put the bag aside.

"Hey girl, do you only have bags? Do you have anything else?"

"I also need to talk to Sister Chen about this. We don't have much stock left, and I don't plan to sell any more. I still have some perfumes and skincare products..."

"Okay, okay, whatever you have, I'll take it." Sister Chen got excited the moment she heard there were perfumes and skincare products.

“Alright, let’s trade again next time you have goods,” Xu Lin said.

"Why wait until next time? I still have some stock at home. I'll have my husband bring it over."

After saying that, he immediately picked up the communicator to make a call.

"Sister Chen, wait a minute. It's no use if your husband brings it. I don't have any with me. How about we wait until tomorrow?" Xu Lin said.

"Okay, come over tomorrow morning."

The group chatted for a while longer before Xu Lin took her leave. Sister Chen gave her a bag of steamed buns as a return gift.

"Let's make mutton stew tonight," Xu Lin said, looking at the bread in her hand.

Back home, Xu Lin took the materials out of her spatial storage, and Zhou Pin began preparations.

Soak the mutton and lamb leg bones in clean water, changing the water several times. Cut the mutton into large pieces about 3 cm in size, and split the lamb leg bones in half to expose the marrow inside.

Put water in a pot, then add mutton and mutton bones and bring to a boil. Rinse the mutton and mutton bones in the broth and remove them.

Place the blanched lamb bones into a soup pot, add a full pot of water, bring to a boil, skim off the foam, then add scallions, crushed ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, cardamom, angelica root, amomum villosum, galangal, cinnamon, fennel seeds, and orange peel, and bring to a boil over high heat.

Keep the soup boiling over medium-high heat for 30 minutes. Add the lamb and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and continue cooking. Season with salt.

Remove the cooked mutton and bones, and strain the broth to remove any remaining seasonings and residue.

Break the steamed bun into small cubes the size of a fingernail. Add the soaked vermicelli, shredded wood ear mushrooms, and chopped scallions and cilantro to the pot. Add the steamed bun cubes and cooked mutton, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. It's ready to eat. Zhou Pin also brought pickled garlic and chili sauce.

This meal took a full five hours to prepare and wasn't eaten until after 10 p.m. The two of them ate rice balls to stave off hunger. Luckily, they used a large pot, which could be used to make enough food for about ten meals, otherwise Xu Lin would have been driven crazy.

I have to say, this meal was so delicious it made my mouth water. Luckily, I live far away, otherwise the aroma would have made the neighbor's kids cry with envy.
