Chapter 260 Meeting an Old Friend on the Mountain Top

The two went to sleep in the space that night. In the middle of the night, Zhou Pin patted Xu Lin, and Xu Lin immediately woke up.

“There’s been a tsunami,” Zhou Pin said.

Yesterday, Zhou Pin set up a surveillance camera with a bamboo pole, pointing it directly at the distant sea. As the two watched the monitor, a bright light streaked across the dark sky, instantly illuminating the outside world like daytime, and a massive wave, tens of meters high, swept in from afar.

The waves surged like a thousand galloping horses, leaving desolation and barrenness in their wake.

This may be the largest tsunami in human history. Only after experiencing this tsunami did we realize that the previous magnitude 8 earthquake was just an appetizer before the tsunami.

The two were glad they made the decision to relocate, otherwise they would have been submerged by the sea by now.

"Isn't that Sun Wei?" Xu Lin said, pointing to the surveillance footage.

"Yes, and there's also Grandma Wu and Li Jingjing," Zhou Pin said after looking carefully.

The surveillance footage shows a man carrying large bags climbing to the top of a mountain. He puts down his things, turns around, goes down, and pulls up an old woman and a woman. The old woman and the woman pack their things, take out a tent, and start setting it up. The man wipes his face, goes down again, and brings up a lot of things.

Their faces were covered in mud and water; it was unclear whether the water outside was from the tsunami or rain.

Sun Wei and his group were about 50 meters away from Xu Lin's container. They probably didn't expect someone to put a container on the mountaintop, and at the time they were only focused on escaping and didn't think about anything else.

Xu Lin was watching Sun Wei and the others set up their tent when Sun Wei looked over from the surveillance camera and their eyes met. Xu Lin was startled and suddenly remembered that they were in a virtual space and watching the outside world through a surveillance camera, so there was no way Sun Wei could have seen them.

“Sun Wei is no ordinary person; he must have discovered the surveillance footage,” Zhou Pin said.

"Should we go out?" Xu Lin asked.

"What are you thinking?" Zhou Pin asked in return.

“We can’t stay in this space forever, or it will be hard to explain when they get to know the terrain,” Xu Lin said.

“Let’s go out now, before they figure out what’s going on,” Zhou Pin said.

After arriving at the container from the space, they put away anything that shouldn't be there. Seeing that the weather outside wasn't too scary, the two changed into one-piece raincoats and opened the container.

By this time, Sun Wei had already discovered the container. Xu Lin had cleaned up the area around the container, and after settling his family in, Sun Wei patrolled the vicinity and naturally found the container.

Seeing the two people emerge from the container, Sun Wei breathed a sigh of relief. Anyone he encountered at this point was a robber, except for Xu Lin and Zhou Pin.

"Long time no see," Xu Lin said to Zhou Pin.

"What are you doing here?" Sun Wei asked.

“Same as you,” Zhou Pin said.

"Can we make a deal?" Sun Wei asked, looking at the shipping container behind Xu Lin and Zhou Pin and the prefabricated houses next to them.

Xu Lin understood what he meant, but now was not the time to be a pushover.

The shipping container served as a transition between the two people's living space. Considering they would be living on the mountaintop for a while, Xu Lin took out some materials for a prefabricated house to build one. Before she even started building, she ran into Sun Wei.

"Don't rush to refuse, wait for me a moment." Sun Wei saw that Xu Lin was about to refuse, so he quickly said this and turned to leave. Xu Lin and the other woman had no choice but to wait where they were.

Ten minutes later, Sun Wei returned with a suitcase about 24 inches in size. This time, he also brought Li Jingjing and Grandma Wu with him, as if he knew Xu Lin wouldn't refuse.
