"Do you still have water at home?" Xu Lin asked out of sheer curiosity.
“I put several water tanks on the roof to collect rainwater when I’m done using them. I also have water purification tablets and a water purifier,” 801 said while washing dishes.
"You've really thought of everything." Xu Lin admired 801 from the bottom of her heart.
"I can take it from you," 801 said while wiping his hands.
"I have enough water for now." Although 801 already knew about the existence of the space, Xu Lin did not want to completely expose her secret.
Xu Lin thought that if it weren't for the cheating artifact of the space, she might not have been much better off than in her previous life if she had to start over. But she would definitely be much better off in 801. She had vision, strategy, strength, and good looks. Don't underestimate good looks; she could even sell her body at crucial moments.
I ate a delicious, greasy lunch, slept all afternoon and felt refreshed; the aches and pains from the workout were gone. I took out a boxed lunch from my storage space and devoured it. Thinking about tonight's destination, I felt a little excited.
I left home promptly at seven o'clock, and 801 just opened the door, carrying a jet ski. Both of us were wearing raincoats; the water had already reached the fifth floor.
After the family on the second floor moved into the empty room 701, a couple who rented room 501 also moved into the empty room 702. The family living on the fourth floor occupied the stairwell between the fifth and sixth floors, while the people living in room 302 moved to the stairwell between the sixth and seventh floors.
Xu Lin and her companion first encountered the former tenant of room 302, a woman who appeared to be single. She was sitting by the window looking outside. A curtain was drawn in the corner, presumably where she slept that night, and her luggage was also stored. Hearing the noise, she glanced at the two of them before turning back to look out the window.
The sixth floor was quite lively. The grandson of the eccentric old lady was asking for food from the child of the original fourth-floor family at the stairwell. The mother-in-law of the original fourth-floor family got angry and demanded an explanation from the old lady. The old lady's son stood up to refute her, and then the original fourth-floor family members got angry. In short, it was a complete mess.
When 801 appeared carrying a motorboat, everyone stopped arguing and followed the motorboat downwards.
It was the eccentric old lady on the sixth floor who reacted quickly: "Young man, you still have a jet ski? Can you lend it to us tomorrow? Adults can eat a little less, but my dear grandson is still young and growing. We can't let him go hungry. We all live in the same building. You can't just stand by and watch the child go hungry."
The old lady from the fourth floor retorted, "You think your grandson is so precious? Even at a time like this, you still have the nerve to borrow things through moral blackmail? Aren't you ashamed? And didn't you ask 601 to buy you food yesterday? You really have the nerve to ask for help!"
"Don't tell me you don't want to lend it; stop pretending to be high and mighty!"
"Pretending to be virtuous is better than being shameless!"
"Who are you calling shameless!"
"Whoever allows their grandson to beg for food during a natural disaster is shameless!"

Ignoring the argument on the 6th floor, the two walked past the crowd to the window, launched the motorboat, and set off.
Xu Lin summarized the current layout of Unit 3, Building 3: Xu Lin and Zhou Pin live on the 8th floor; the family of three from the second floor and the couple from the ancestral home live on the 7th floor; a single woman lives between the 6th and 7th floors; the eccentric old lady and her son and grandson live on the 6th floor, along with that kind-hearted couple; and a family of four lives between the 5th and 6th floors, for a total of 17 people.
People are now living near the stairwell, so I can't come back empty-handed anymore, nor can I bring too many things that would make others envious. I need to find the right balance.
