Chapter 70 Sunshine Building

At 5:30 in the morning, Zhou Pin came to find Xu Lin. The two ate breakfast together and then went to the 6th floor to meet.

Everyone was very enthusiastic, even the youngest Xiaozhi didn't hold back. This child was well-educated by Lao Liu and his wife. He wasn't a bad child to begin with, but he was spoiled by his grandmother.

The temperature had dropped to -50°C, which was warmer than before, but it was still very cold. Everyone was bundled up like bears. Xu Lin and Zhou Pin wore military overcoats over their down jackets, which were both warm and inconspicuous.

"Everyone's here, let's go."

“I have a suggestion,” Xu Lin said. “Zhou Pin and I have ice skates, so we can go over there early to check the situation and start playing as soon as everyone else arrives, saving time.”

“That works too. You have ice skates, it would be a waste for you to come with us,” Liang Ping said.

"Then we'll follow behind you."

"Thank you for your hard work."

Everyone agreed with Xu Lin's suggestion.

"We're leaving now." Xu Lin waved and, after changing into her ice skates, she and Zhou Pin set off.

The two people and two dogs rode at breakneck speed, taking almost two hours to arrive. Most of the road was desolate and deserted. This area was newly developed; it used to be rural and is now a semi-urban area. People from the city think it's too remote, while people from the countryside can't get here.

The main group was expected to arrive in the afternoon, so the two didn't rush in. They first walked around the perimeter and found that no one had been there before, and there were no footprints in the snow.

"Let's go to the pharmaceutical company first. This company develops special drugs." Zhou Pin was a know-it-all.

The pharmaceutical company moved here a couple of years ago. It has the latest and best equipment and is a national-level experimental base for developing special drugs. Zhou Pin wanted to buy it for his grandfather, but his grandfather passed away before he could. So he knows a lot about this.

The two found a window and went inside, leaving the two little ones to keep watch outside.

The building is about 27 stories high, with 20 stories above ground. It contains high-end pharmaceutical equipment, which Xu Lin, unfamiliar with the field, found dazzling.

"Let's look from top to bottom; the ones at the top should be better," Xu Lin said, relying on her experience.

The two climbed to the top floor, which was a large sunroom. However, instead of flowers and plants, it contained various petri dishes, probably for experiments that required light.

Xu Lin didn't want to accept them, but since she could fit them all in the space, she accepted them all, thinking they could be used as containers later.

The next floor was a high-tech warehouse that was difficult to open even during a power outage. It was only opened using a newly made lock pick that Zhou Pin had placed there.

The warehouse was filled with the special drugs developed by this research center, each one placed in a box, similar to an insulated storage container. They were likely about to be released to the market, hence the warehouse was almost entirely piled high with these small boxes.

"I wonder if storing these medicines for so long will affect their efficacy," Xu Lin said with some concern.

"No, this box is specially made to keep the medicine in optimal condition."

"That's fine then." Xu Lin waved her hand.

The next floor was a warehouse, which should contain the drugs needed for developing a special medicine. Xu Lin took them all without even looking at them.

Next is the archives, which occupy the entire floor.

“Take them all; they’re all formulas for various medicines,” Zhou Pin said.

"Look, there's a safe here. Is it really necessary? We can put a safe in the archives!"

"This might be the formula for a special medicine. There's no time to lose, so let's take the cabinet with us and open it when we get back."

Xu Lin was very satisfied with this layer. In the apocalypse, medicine was hard to come by, but she had so many formulas.
