Zheng Ming followed closely behind, but his skills were clearly inferior to Sun Wei's. He was slashed on the arm and cried out in pain. Wang Jing, who was standing nearby, swung a stick at Sun Wei's head to save Zheng Ming.
Xu Lin and Zhou Pin joined in, carrying Tang swords. Xu Lin shouted, "Do it the way we agreed!"
Before setting off, they had agreed that if a robbery occurred and the number of attackers was small, the women would retreat to guard the supplies while the men would fight. Xu Lin was quite agile and adaptable.
Zhou Pin and Sun Wei were the main force of the team, charging into battle. The two younger ones were not to be outdone. Zeiss and Lao Liu were a bit exhausted because they hadn't rested well in the past few days. Xu Lin protected the women, the injured Zheng Ming, and the two children and retreated to a safe place. She also took out medical supplies from her bag (actually her spatial storage) and gave them to Dai Qin so that she could bandage Zheng Ming. Then she joined the battle again.
Half an hour later, the fierce battle ended, and corpses lay scattered on the ground.
"Old Liu! Old Liu!" Zhang Min shouted loudly.
"Dad! Dad!" Xiao Zhi called out.
"I'm here! I'm fine, I just twisted my ankle and was too tired." Old Liu raised his arm and waved in the direction of Zhang Min and Xiao Zhi.
Zhou Pin, Xu Lin, and Sun Wei were unharmed. Zheng Ming had his arm slashed, Cai Si injured his leg, and Lao Liu sprained his ankle. Dai Qin gave them some basic first aid, and the group hurried on their way. If they were discovered and robbed again, they wouldn't be so lucky.
Because there were wounded, it took Xu Lin six hours to get home. She lit the stove first, then went into her private space to wash up and take a bath. By the time she got into bed, it was almost dawn, and she fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.
Xu Lin slept until 2 PM. After stretching, she got up and found that the stove fire was still burning and there was still porridge warming on it. No wonder the aroma in her dream had woken her up. It must have been Zhou Pin who brought her warmth. She had given him the key earlier.
"Zhou Pin, where are you?" Xu Lin turned on the walkie-talkie to find Zhou Pin.
"I'm coming right away."
Zhou Pin arrived a minute later.
"Have some porridge first. I've made a meal, it'll be ready in a bit."
"It's so nice to have a boyfriend, you can just eat what's ready for you." Xu Lin kissed Zhou Pin's cheek.
"Having a girlfriend is great too." Zhou Pin returned the kiss, but only on the lips.
Two little ones: Shy, shy, shy
After finishing the porridge, Zhou Pin went back to cook, while Xu Lin went downstairs to check on everyone.
Zheng Ming on the 7th floor is fine now. He is drinking the porridge that Wang Jing is feeding him, and he is leaning his head on Wang Jing, looking weak and listless.
"Stop giving me that deadpan look. The wound isn't deep, it wasn't even stitched up. We'll start exercising once it scabs over!"
"No! I feel dizzy, oh dear, my chest hurts."
Xu Lin couldn't bear to look any longer, so she turned around and went to room 701. Sun Wei opened the door, and Aunt Wu was cooking with her daughter-in-law.
"You weren't hurt yesterday, were you?"
"No." Sun Wei, like Zhou Pin, was not fond of talking.
"Have you practiced before?"
“My dad is a policeman, and I learned a little from him.”
"Little Xu is here! Have lunch here!"
"No, Aunt Wu, Zhou Pin is cooking at home. I just came to check on everyone. I'll be going now if you're all done."
"Why don't you invite Xiao Zhou to come and eat with us? Auntie will make extra."
"No, no, I'm leaving now, Auntie."
Aunt Wu was too enthusiastic, and Xu Lin felt a little uncomfortable.
Zhang Min opened the door to room 602. Porridge was simmering on the stove in the living room. Xiao Zhi was playing with toys by the stove. When he saw Xu Lin, he called out "Aunt Xu." Xiao Zhi had been well-educated by Zhang Min and Lao Liu.
Old Liu lay on the bed, pale-faced, and greeted Xu Lin when he saw her arrive.
