"Why didn't you tell me you had seafood? I love seafood the most. I don't have much stored in my space. I'm afraid it won't be enough to last me a lifetime, so I'm being very careful."
"I just thought of that too, let's go." Seeing that Xu Lin had put on her thermal suit, sun protection suit, sun hat, and gloves, Zhou Pin opened the car door.
"My goodness, you two are fully armed! Everyone else is so hot they feel like they're about to peel off their skin, but you two are covered up from head to toe!" Wang Jing exclaimed in amazement.
"Sunscreen is essential; it's better to be a little hot than get sunburned."
“That makes sense, Sister Dai. Let’s take precautions next time, so we don’t get sunburned,” Wang Jing said, linking arms with Dr. Dai.
“We have thermal underwear, why aren’t you wearing it? It would be much cooler to wear it.”
"Oh dear, I forgot. We need to get down to business. Let's talk about where to go first. Do you have any good suggestions?"
"Zhou Pin and I want to go and take a look at the nearby marine aquaculture base."
“Even if they receive supplies there, they can’t take too much. It’s so hot, and it will smell bad in no time,” Wang Jing said.
"We can pickle them, dry them, and take them with us." Xu Lin forgot that she had her own space for preservation, but the others didn't.
"That works too. I happen to know how to pickle salted fish; I learned it from my grandma when I was little."
"I have a map here, but the surrounding terrain has changed, so I don't know if I can still find it." Xu Lin took out a map of Hong Kong from her backpack.
"You're amazing, you even have a map." Zheng Mingchao gave Xu Lin a thumbs up.
“Let’s drive there. We can come back before we leave, that way we can collect more money.” Zhou Pin took the map and pointed in a direction.
Everyone went back to their cars, and as before, Zhou Pin drove the way, taking everyone to the marine aquaculture base.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at their destination. Zhou Pin parked the car, and Dai Qin, Wang Jing, and Zheng Ming got out and came over. The five of them looked at the broken walls and ruins in front of them.
"This is where the aquaculture workers lived; it must have been destroyed during the heavy rain."
"The temperature is so high that the ground has dried out."
"Let's hurry down and catch the fish, or the water will all dry up."
"There should be fishing nets in the collapsed house, let's go look for them first."
The group searched the collapsed house thoroughly, and their efforts paid off when they found a very large net, as well as several fishing, crabbing, and shrimp-catching tools.
Zhou Pin and Zheng Ming pulled in their nets, while Dai Qin, Xu Lin, and Wang Jing each used other tools to catch seafood. The sun was very strong, and it was cooler standing in the water than on land. Despite this, Xu Lin still gave everyone two bottles of Huoxiang Zhengqi Water to relieve the heat.
The fish, shrimp, and crabs caught were sorted and kept in water in various sizes of nets found inside the house. The outside temperature was too high, and they would smell bad after being left in the air for a while.
Three hours later, the five of them went ashore to rest, their bodies soaked with sweat that dried repeatedly.
"These fish must weigh several hundred pounds, along with shrimp and crabs. We need to hurry up and dry them this afternoon, otherwise they'll go bad."
"Have something to eat first, take a rest before you get busy." Xu Lin took out some compressed biscuits from her bag and handed them to Zhou Pin.
"In the afternoon, we'll dry the fish for Dr. Dai, and then we'll continue catching fish and shrimp," Xu Lin said, looking at the fish farms in front of her.
After finishing their meal, the group found a flat cement floor, washed the fish with seawater, and then Dr. Dai started drying the fish while the others went fishing.
"Xu Lin, there are sea cucumbers and abalone here!" Zhou Pin shouted.
Xu Lin, Wang Jing, and Zheng Ming rushed over and saw that Zhou Pin had pulled out a net full of sea cucumbers.
"I'm rich! I'm rich! So much!" Zheng Ming exclaimed excitedly.
