Chapter 467 Taking on Disciples

"I do have a solution, but what are your thoughts?" Gu Changqing said with a faint smile and a calm expression.

Gu Changqing had plenty of ways to deal with people; he was just a gambler, and Gu Changqing had plenty of ways to handle him.

"What method? I'd like to hear the details," the master asked with great curiosity.

"Let him become my apprentice. If he doesn't obey, I have my own ways to punish him! But there's one thing you absolutely mustn't interfere with. Hand him over to me, and I'll naturally find a way to subdue him so he won't dare to gamble again." Gu Changqing smiled slightly and said directly.

"Of course I will not interfere. As long as you don't kill him, I have no objection to what you want to do." The master smiled faintly, his face full of earnest gratitude.

"You can rest assured about that. Now that he has become my apprentice, no matter how I punish him, I will not go too far. I am confident that I can give you a perfectly healthy son, a son with integrity and no bad habits. I will definitely cure his gambling habit completely." Gu Changqing said with a faint smile and confidence.

"Thank you so much. As long as you can reform my son, I'd even cook for you every day without asking for spirit stones. Just tell me when you want to leave, and you can leave anytime. You brat, hurry up and thank your benefactor, Master!" the master said excitedly.

"Thank you so much, my benefactor! Thank you so much, Master!" the master's son said, looking completely bewildered.

This was completely unexpected for him. Today was the day that would change his destiny. He felt like he was dreaming, and it all seemed so unreal.

"If possible, we can leave now, but there's one more thing I haven't finished before we go," Gu Changqing said with a slight smile.

"Leave? Dream on! You killed one of our brothers. How are we supposed to explain this when we go back? Today we must give our brother an explanation. He can't just die like this for no reason. We had no grudge against you. Why did you kill our brother?" The leader of the men in black immediately blocked Gu Changqing's way of leaving.

They were in a difficult position to explain themselves when they returned. They had come with five people, but now one was missing. Moreover, their mission wasn't particularly challenging; it was arguably the simplest one—just collecting a debt. Yet, they had lost a life. It was hard to accept. Besides, their companion had died so tragically, and they were resentful and wanted an explanation.

"How you explain yourselves is your business and has nothing to do with me. As for why you killed your brother, blame him for his loose tongue. He was just talking big, and I didn't like him. So I killed him. There's no reason." Gu Changqing sneered and said in a deep voice.

"You're truly despicable! You killed our men and you're still so smug. Do you think we're pushovers? You have to give us an explanation. Either pay for our brother's life and a million spirit stones, and we'll let you go, or we'll take your corpse back to report. The choice is yours." The leader of the men in black was furious upon hearing Gu Changqing's words. His anger was burning, and he spoke with a stern face.

"What do you mean, one million spirit stones? You're asking for way too much. Is his life even worth that much money?" The chef standing to the side curled his lip and said with a serious face.

“One million spirit stones isn’t much. It’s just a piece of cake for me. I don’t even care about it. But I don’t intend to give it to you. I advise you to give up on that idea. Besides, you want my life, do you? Fine, let’s see if you have the ability. If you have the ability, come at me. I won’t say a word.” Gu Changqing snorted coldly and said with a stern face.

In Gu Changqing's eyes, these four men in black were nothing but clowns and trash. The highest cultivation level among them was only at the peak of the Quasi-Saint realm, which he didn't take seriously at all. The others were even lower. Even if they joined forces, they wouldn't be a match for him. He could beat them to a pulp with a single finger, forcing them to kneel and beg for mercy. He really didn't know where they got the courage to challenge him. They probably wouldn't even know how they died.

"Heh heh heh, young man, you've got quite the nerve. I've never met anyone as disobedient as you before. We always have to do whatever we tell others to do, and they don't dare utter a single word. Today is the first time I've encountered someone like you who wants to fight us head-on. If you don't pay us one million spirit stones today, you're not leaving." The leading man in black said angrily, his brows furrowed.

After saying that, he stared intently at Gu Changqing with a gloomy gaze, as if he wanted to kill him with his eyes. If he could kill with his eyes, he would have killed Gu Changqing a hundred times over.

Gu Changqing was not angry when he heard his words. Instead, he smiled and said, "I am not a chicken or a dog. Why should I listen to you? Besides, what power do you have to make me listen to you? Of course I will not do as you wish."

Gu Changqing's words struck at his heart like a sharp blade. The black-clad man at the head of the group turned grim and flew into a rage, gesturing wildly at Gu Changqing and cursing, "You, you, you, who do you think you are? How dare you spout nonsense in front of me? You really don't know your place. Don't blame me for being ruthless. Today, I'll use my treasured sword to chop you into eight pieces and feed you to the dogs."

"Hahaha, you wish you could, but you don't have the ability. I might as well just pass these words on to you verbatim," Gu Changqing said with a cold laugh and a stern face.

Seeing Gu Changqing's arrogance, the man in black was enraged and unwilling to waste any more words with the young man. With a thought, a gleaming broadsword appeared in his hand. He swung it with all his might, aiming straight for Gu Changqing's head, wishing he could cut Gu Changqing into pieces.

With a deafening roar, the black-clad man shattered space with his blade, causing layers of space to crumble and explode with dark cracks. His cultivation level erupted in full force, making him terrifyingly powerful.

Seeing this, Gu Changqing sneered, then waved his hand and grabbed the other party's broadsword in the blink of an eye. With a "bang", the heavy blade gleamed coldly and was extremely sharp.

Gu Changqing scoffed and didn't take him seriously at all. He simply used one finger to pick up the broadsword, preventing it from advancing an inch. Sparks were even coming out of his fingernail. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the black-clad man's broadsword had actually cracked open with a horrifying nick.

"What? This... how is this possible? This is impossible! I must be seeing things." The man in black said in disbelief.

The man in black was shocked to see that his terrifying strike hadn't even cut off a single finger of his opponent, and had been blocked by that finger. He was so shocked that he even doubted his eyes and rubbed them, but the result was the same.
