Chapter 235 Not a Spy

"I really don't know what you have to worry about. This young master has no cultivation at all and won't cause us any harm. He might even be able to help us out. There's no need to be so hostile. If we encounter any danger, you just need to protect us. As for this young master, whether you want to protect him too is up to you. I won't interfere. If this young master wants to stay, let him be. Don't worry about him." The elder thought carefully and said earnestly.

Why would the enemy send someone with no cultivation to be a spy? Isn't that redundant? Even if the enemy sends an undercover agent, it must be someone with high cultivation.

No one knows what the man in black was thinking, but he just couldn't stand the man in white and insisted on driving him away.

"In that case, pretend I didn't say anything, but I can warn you beforehand that if he encounters any danger, I won't care. Let him fend for himself," the man in black said coldly.

"Don't worry, even if I encounter any danger, you won't have to come to my aid. Conversely, if you are in any danger, I won't be kind enough to save you," Gu Changqing said with a cold laugh.

Gu Changqing would never save this person who was always against him.

"What a joke! Do I need someone with no cultivation like you to save me? That's the biggest joke I've ever heard." The man in black found it very amusing. He was the strongest among this group; how could he possibly need someone else to save him?

"Alright, you two, stop arguing about this nonsense and get on your way," the elder said, somewhat annoyed. "What time is it? Why are you still dawdling around like this?"

Seeing that the elder was somewhat angry, the two wisely shut their mouths and continued flying forward.

Before long, the group arrived at the mysterious cave they had mentioned.

Looking into the distance, all that could be seen was a towering mountain, seemingly a bottomless abyss. The cave was situated at the foot of this mountain, with wisps of black smoke occasionally billowing from its entrance, making it look extremely eerie. If it weren't for the swirling black smoke, the cave entrance would be almost impossible to spot; it was simply too well hidden.

"We've finally found this place! Let's go take a look!" the woman in white exclaimed with delight.

"Don't panic. The black smoke coming out of this cave looks very strange. I'm afraid something is wrong. Let's observe it first before making any decisions." The elder hesitated at this moment. Although he also wanted to go in and find out what was going on, he was afraid that there might be something difficult to deal with inside. It would be terrible if he was too careful.

"Elder, what are we waiting for? We came here to explore and see if there are any treasures. There's a saying, 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained.' What are we afraid of? I've got you covered." The man in black said eagerly.

He wanted to see what treasures were inside. He wouldn't care about anything else then; he'd kill and plunder, and take down no one at the same time. It was a win-win situation. He'd even kill that man in white along with him; he'd already been looking down on him for a long time.

"Let's not delay, Elder, let's go in. Haven't we already made preparations?" After a moment, the man in black urged again.

"What's the rush? Give the elder some time. It's best to be careful. The treasure is important, but life is more important." The woman in white frowned slightly and interrupted her with some displeasure.

For some reason, she felt a vague unease and a sense of fear. What if she didn't find the treasure and ended up losing her life? Wouldn't that be a huge loss? To be honest, she didn't want to take such a big risk and gamble on an uncertain factor. After all, the treasure wasn't that important to her; she was just following orders.

The others remained silent, simply nodding in agreement. Their cultivation levels were not high, and if any danger arose, it would be alright if the man in black was capable, but if he himself couldn't escape, then the rest of them would be even more helpless. They would be like lambs to the slaughter, trapped in the jaws of a tiger, with no chance of escape.

"I'm really fed up with you guys. On one hand, you want to find treasure, but on the other hand, you're afraid of this and that, hesitant and timid. If that's the case, I think we should just not go in. But you must return every single spirit stone you owe me." The man in black frowned upon seeing this, his anger rising. He didn't care about anything else and spoke to himself.

"Why are you speaking so harshly? We didn't say we weren't going. We're just being cautious for safety reasons. What's wrong with that? After all, we don't know what the situation is inside. Are you really that confident that you can be completely safe?" The woman in white retorted angrily, clearly disapproving of the man in black's words.
