After the middle-aged man finished speaking, he stopped wasting words and threw a punch. The air exploded, and a terrifying shockwave gathered between his palms like a whirlwind. The dreadful wind and waves were terrifying, and it slammed fiercely towards Jiang Qingcheng.
Seeing this, Jiang Qingcheng remained calm and immediately took out the Heaven and Earth Absolute Sound Qin given to her by her husband. Without saying a word, she started playing the strings and rushed towards the middle-aged man.
"Boom!!"
With a deafening roar, the two sides clashed violently, their attacks coming on with overwhelming force and looking quite terrifying.
When the fist and the strings collided, the middle-aged man's fist was as fragile as tofu, easily broken in two by the strings, leaving it covered in blood.
However, this was not the end. The vibrations of the strings continued forward, following the direction of the strings, and attacked the middle-aged man, splitting his body in two at the waist.
"Ahhh...it hurts so much, my hand!" the middle-aged man screamed in agony.
The next moment he realized something, looked down at his waist, and saw blood gushing out uncontrollably. He was terrified and stared at the scene before him in disbelief.
He then fell uncontrollably to the ground, his upper and lower body splitting in two in a terrifying manner.
The middle-aged man's arrogant and domineering smile vanished. Instead, he lay on the ground groaning in agony, barely clinging to life, looking as if he might die at any moment.
The people standing nearby were stunned. In an instant, everyone in the room was taken aback, looking at each other in disbelief and gasping in surprise.
Holy crap, that's amazing! I never expected this woman to be so powerful. I was worried she wouldn't be able to beat that shameless man, but it seems I was worrying for nothing.
My God, this woman looks so gentle and delicate, how could she be so powerful? It's terrifying.
My goodness, who is this woman? She managed to injure her opponent like this with just a zither. It's unbelievable.
It took a long time for everyone present to recover from the shock, but their hearts were still pounding violently, as if they had been electrocuted.
Jiang Qingcheng watched the scene unfold with utter composure. She had long known that the zither her husband had given her was incredibly powerful; a single blow had nearly killed the man. If he had used a little more force, he probably would have been dead already.
"Husband, what do you think? Should we kill this man, or let him live on, barely clinging to life?" Jiang Qingcheng asked Gu Changqing with a smile.
"People like this are just wasting air and taking up space. They might as well be dead," Gu Changqing sneered and said casually.
"Heroine, please don't kill me! I had no choice. To be honest, I have people above me. If I don't meet the quota, I'm afraid I'll also die. I have no choice. I don't want to treat children like this. I'm a victim too." Hearing their conversation, the middle-aged man disregarded his pain and quickly begged for mercy.
As the saying goes, it's better to live a miserable life than to die a good death. He doesn't want to die yet; he hasn't lived enough.
"Didn't you just say that you bought that little girl? Why are you changing your story now that you know you're going to die, and bringing up a completely fabricated person? Do you think I'll spare your life?" Jiang Qingcheng said with a cold smile.
She didn't believe what this person said. Such a person was selfish, inhuman, and a born bad seed. How many truths could he possibly have?
"My lady, I really didn't lie to you. The reason I said this was because I was instructed to do so by my superiors. They don't want people like me to cause them trouble, so they specifically instructed me to do this. I really didn't lie to you; I'm a victim too," the middle-aged man quickly explained.
"Since you keep saying you have connections, where are they? If you can't answer that, it proves you have something to hide," Jiang Qingcheng said coldly.
"The people up there live in a very secluded place, and they never let us know about it. But once, I secretly followed them and discovered that they were in the busiest part of the city, right at the very front of this street," the man said in detail.
"What you're doing is illegal. How dare they choose to stay in the busiest place? Wouldn't that make them more likely to be exposed?" Jiang Qingcheng said, somewhat puzzled.
"The most dangerous place is the safest place. They did the opposite, which even the officials in charge of the government couldn't have imagined, making it easier for them to evade investigation," the middle-aged man said thoughtfully.
"Even if what you said is true, you deserve it. You are not worthy of forgiveness or sympathy. Living now is just torture for you. It would be better to die," Jiang Qingcheng said expressionlessly.
She then swung her hand and slapped the middle-aged man.
"No, no..." the man cried out in shock and terror.
The next moment, the pitiful screams stopped abruptly, and silence fell. The man was now lifeless.
Everyone present changed color drastically, their faces showing disbelief, as if they had been stimulated by something terrifying. It was too scary, too frightening, and they all fled in panic.
Jiang Qingcheng found it somewhat amusing. She wasn't some great demon, and she hadn't harmed them at all, so why were they so terrified?
"Husband, how credible do you think this person's words are? Could he be lying to us?" Jiang Qingcheng asked Gu Changqing, somewhat unsure.
"I don't know either, so why don't we go and find out? We've got nothing better to do anyway," Gu Changqing said with a faint smile.
“Okay, let’s go check it out right away, then we’ll know if it’s true or not,” Jiang Qingcheng agreed.
Just as the group was about to leave, a childish voice rang out.
"Big brother, big sister..."
They turned their heads and saw the little girl looking at them with great helplessness.
"How could we forget about her? What should we do with this little girl?" Jiang Qingcheng said, looking completely bewildered.
She was so focused on avenging the little girl that she forgot about her.
"Why don't we take her with us? It's too unsafe for her to be out on the street alone," Gu Changqing said without hesitation.
“I think it’s a good idea, but she must have family, right? Why don’t we ask her before making a decision?” Jiang Qingcheng suddenly thought of this and immediately said.
"Little girl, what's your name? Where are your parents? I'll help you find your family and reunite you as a family, okay?" Jiang Qingcheng asked with a smile, gentle and considerate.
"My name is Little Strawberry. My mother passed away from illness, and my father drank and gambled all day long, losing all our savings. In the end, he sold me to someone to pay off his debts." The little girl's eyes reddened as she recounted her past.
