Chapter 284 The Hidden Cave

It must be said that this mountain range is truly unique and distinctive, leaving a deep impression. This place, with its mountains and water, and beautiful scenery, is very suitable for living. It is indeed a good place to live, and it is no exaggeration to call it a paradise on earth.

With a thought, Gu Changqing scanned his surroundings again with his divine sense. After carefully observing the area, he finally detected an unusual aura. A smile crept onto his lips, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.

He felt that this was most likely the aura of those two people.

Without saying a word, he headed straight in that direction. The further he went, the more obvious the aura became. He wasn't quite sure before, but now he was absolutely certain that it was the aura unique to the six major demonic sects.

Gu Changqing quickened his pace and headed directly in the predetermined direction.

At this moment, the two demonic cultivators were healing their wounds in a cave in this mountain range, completely absorbed in their healing, and unaware of anything amiss.

Because they were both injured and barely escaped, their cultivation levels plummeted. Originally, they were Immortal Kings, but now they are only Quasi-Emperors.

In order to recover from their injuries and restore their cultivation as quickly as possible, the two were wholeheartedly focused on healing and were completely unaware that Gu Changqing was following them.

Before long, Gu Changqing arrived at the entrance of a cave.

The entrance to the cave was almost completely covered by layers of unknown weeds, making it virtually invisible unless you looked closely. It was truly a well-hidden and ideal place to take refuge.

"This place is really hard to find. These two really know how to pick a spot. If it weren't for my powerful cultivation, I probably wouldn't have been able to detect their presence at all, let alone find them. But no matter how hard it is to find, I still managed to find them." Gu Changqing smiled faintly and complained to himself.

Immediately afterward, Gu Changqing stopped talking and walked directly into the cave.

After walking for a short while, he vaguely saw two dark figures.

Gu Changqing immediately stepped closer and, upon closer inspection, indeed saw two figures.

He was incredibly excited.

The two men were dressed in beige robes, with bloodstains on their bodies. One was tall and well-proportioned, while the other was short and fat. Apart from the difference in their clothes, they were almost exactly as Elder Liu had described.

Now Gu Changqing was almost 100% certain that they were indeed the spies Elder Liu had mentioned.

"Fellow Daoists, excuse me for disturbing you. I wonder how your injuries are recovering?" Gu Changqing said calmly with a faint smile.

Upon hearing this, the two men immediately opened their eyes in surprise, and asked with a mixture of doubt and wariness, "Who are you, and how did you know we were injured?"

"I am just a nobody, not worth mentioning at all. I am not blind, so I can see the bloodstains on you two. You must be injured without even having to guess," Gu Changqing said calmly with a slight smile.

"You scared the hell out of me! I thought they were chasing us. Turns out it's just a nobody. If you're alright, get out of here and don't disturb us while we're healing, or I'll make you regret it." The chubby man's tense and uneasy mood immediately relaxed, and he said without any politeness.

The fat man carefully sensed the other party's cultivation level, but couldn't sense any cultivation at all. In addition, the other party had just said that he was an unknown nobody, so the fat man naturally believed him.

The skinny man, however, was unconvinced. He knew that the place they had chosen was extremely secluded and difficult to discover. Moreover, it was a deserted place with very few people usually coming here. How could it be such a coincidence that they had just arrived here and another person had come shortly after? This was too much of a coincidence. The other person even claimed to be a nobody. Would an ordinary person come here? This person seemed very suspicious no matter how you looked at him.

"Fellow Daoist, we arrived here first. Please go somewhere else," the skinny man said politely, trying to shoo Gu Changqing away.

"Fellow Daoists, aren't you being a bit too domineering? This isn't your home, and I don't even know you. Why should I listen to you? Besides, I'm a little tired and need to rest here for a while," Gu Changqing said with a cold laugh.

"I advise you to behave yourself, or believe me, I'll slap you out of here," the fat man said impatiently.

“Brother, my brother here has a quick temper. He’s prone to getting into conflicts and arguments. He might do anything in a fit of anger. You should stay away from him and go somewhere else.” The skinny man was giving advice out of the surface, but he was actually in cahoots with the fat man.

He wanted the uninvited guest to leave quickly, because the two of them were injured and didn't want to waste their energy fighting, as it would delay their recovery.

"Fellow Daoists, there's no need to persuade me any further. Now that I've come, how could I possibly leave empty-handed? If I don't bring you two back, it would make me look too useless. I can't even bring back two injured people. Wouldn't that make me a laughingstock in front of the sect? Where would I put my face then?" Gu Changqing sneered and said in a deep voice.

They want to get rid of him, but they don't even consider whether the two of them have the ability to do so.

"What do you mean by that? Who are you and why are you saying such things?" The skinny man asked, feeling uneasy and puzzled.

"I am merely a disciple of the Qingyun Sect. Today, Elder Shouliu entrusted me to bring you back to the sect. If you are obedient, all the better. If you are not, don't blame me for exterminating you all." Gu Changqing stopped pretending and directly stated the purpose of his visit.

"Oh, so you're from the Qingyun Sect after all. Hmph, your Qingyun Sect wanted to kill us two? Hahaha, that's hilarious! You don't know we escaped, do you? That proves our strength. Even if you captured us, so what? We still managed to escape. The strength of your Qingyun Sect disciples is utterly pathetic. Even with us injured, you're still no match for us." The fat man remained completely calm, his face full of disdain.

"Fatty, don't underestimate him. This guy is not as simple as he seems. He was able to find such a hidden place, so he should not be underestimated." The skinny guy was not as simple as the fat guy thought. His face was ugly and he said with a worried expression.

"Oh, I told you you're overthinking it. You're always so afraid of everything. I just checked with my divine sense, and he doesn't have any cultivation at all. His cultivation level must be too low. He just has a good sense of smell, which is why he found us." The fat man said with disbelief and disdain.
