Chapter 462 Free Order

Perhaps because of the unpleasant experience last time, the food was served incredibly fast this time. Gu Changqing didn't even have to order before the dishes were already on the table. It has to be said that the manager had learned his lesson after the last incident and was quite perceptive. Gu Changqing could tell at a glance that all the dishes served were their restaurant's specialties, signature dishes, and popular dishes.

In no time at all, all sorts of delicious dishes were served, filling the table to the brim without leaving a single gap.

Upon closer inspection, each dish is unique, boasting excellent color, aroma, and flavor. The enticing aroma and appearance make one's mouth water.

"Come and eat!" Gu Changqing said, then picked up his chopsticks and began to eat one piece at a time.

Seeing the huge pile of delicious food, Jiang Qingcheng couldn't resist the temptation. Without hesitation, she eagerly picked up her chopsticks, wanting to know if it was really as delicious as her husband had said.

"Mmm, delicious, it's really so tasty! My husband really didn't lie to me." Jiang Qingcheng praised it after taking a bite.

"Husband, the food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! I've never tasted anything so good in my life. It's so much better than anything I can cook. It's incomparable!" Jiang Qingcheng said, praising the food as she ate.

"This is only the second time I've had such delicious food. It's truly amazing. Just look at how many customers are in this restaurant. The taste is absolutely superb; no one can compare," Gu Changqing said in agreement.

The chefs here are incredibly skilled; their food tastes better than anyone else's.

Each dish has a unique and special flavor, yet they are all incredibly delicious, offering an unparalleled and delightful experience that makes it impossible to stop eating. You'll want to keep eating them.

In no time, Gu Changqing and his companion had eaten more than half of the delicious food on the table.

"Husband, have you finished eating?" Jiang Qingcheng asked casually.

"Okay, what about you?" Gu Changqing asked as well.

"I've eaten enough, and I've even gotten a little tummy sticking out," Jiang Qingcheng said somewhat embarrassedly, but she wasn't exaggerating at all.

"Let's go then!" Gu Changqing suggested.

“Okay, sure,” Jiang Qingcheng agreed.

The two then went to the counter to pay.

"Waiter, how much?" Jiang Qingcheng smiled slightly and said with a serious expression.

"Haha, we're having a promotion today, and we've just selected two people. Both of you get your meals for free!" Before the waiter could even speak, the shopkeeper said first, his attitude extremely friendly and respectful.

"I'm afraid the 'free meal' is just an excuse. They probably don't dare to accept spirit stones, fearing I'll cause trouble for the hotel, so they're just making up an excuse," Gu Changqing thought to himself, his mouth twitching.

Jiang Qingcheng, who was standing to the side, was slightly taken aback and somewhat surprised. After all, this was the first time she had ever encountered a free meal, especially in such a high-end restaurant.

The waiter was speechless. He thought to himself that the restaurant was so popular, yet they had never had such a rule before. He quickly realized the reason, but he didn't say anything. After all, what did it have to do with him, a mere errand boy, whether the meal was free or not?

"Thank you very much, shopkeeper. Husband, let's go!" Jiang Qingcheng smiled gently, her every move exuding tenderness.

"Jiang Qing, wait a minute. Since we're here, why don't we ask where we can find a good chef?" Gu Changqing said with a smile.

"I, Gu, the shopkeeper, have something to ask you. You must answer truthfully. If I answer to your satisfaction, I will reward you with today's meal money, including the money for the last meal," Gu Changqing said with a slight smile and a serious expression.

"Please speak, sir. It doesn't matter what the reward is. It's my honor to serve you. I will tell you everything I know!" The shopkeeper said, bowing and scraping, his attitude incredibly friendly.

"Where can I find a cook whose skills are comparable to yours? I urgently need a cook," Gu Changqing said without mincing words.

"Sir, if you ask me where there are chefs, I know. But if you ask me where there are chefs who can compare to mine, I really don't know. I doubt anyone can cook better than the chefs here," the shopkeeper said sincerely, without any hesitation.

"Oh, shopkeeper, you're so confident, aren't you afraid that I, Gu, will steal your cook away?" Gu Changqing smiled slightly and said casually.

"This, this..." The shopkeeper was at a loss for words.

If he said yes, the restaurant would definitely lose a lot of business with one less chef; if he said no, he was afraid the boss would be angry and it would be bad for him. He just spoke the truth without thinking it through, and now he was in a dilemma.

"The manager is all talk and no action, thinking his chef is the best in the world. He's like a frog in a well, ignorant and incompetent. Let's see how he gets out of this mess," the waiter muttered to himself.

The waiter spoke very softly, so softly that only he could hear him.

But Gu Changqing was different; he had super hearing, so he heard everything clearly.

"Shopkeeper, your waiter says you're not telling the truth!" Gu Changqing said with a slight smile and a calm expression.

The shopkeeper was startled upon hearing this and quickly explained, "Everything I said is true. I would never dare to deceive you, sir. I hope you can see the truth."

The waiter was stunned. He never expected that the boss could understand what he was muttering to himself and even tell the shopkeeper. This was really bad!

"Look how scared you are. What you said is just your own perception, not the actual situation. Forget it, I won't ask you anymore. You might as well ask your waiter; he knows more than you do." Gu Changqing said with a faint smile, somewhat amused.

Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed, as he had thought he was about to face a great disaster.

The waiter was utterly shocked and too scared to speak, fearing that the big boss might hear him. If he happened to run into the big boss, he would be in big trouble.

"Tell me, who do you think is a better chef than the restaurant, and where is he?" Gu Changqing said with a faint smile.

“Husband, we don’t need to pursue such a good chef. Good enough is fine. We’re not going to open a restaurant.” Jiang Qingcheng said thoughtfully with a serious expression.

She felt that finding a decent chef would be fine, and there was no need to demand perfection.

“Since you’re already here, you must want the best. Good chefs make delicious food. Don’t you want to eat this kind of delicious food every day?” Gu Changqing said with a faint smile and a calm expression.
