"These people deserve to die. They dared to plot against my husband. It's a joke that they thought they could kill and steal his treasure," Jiang Qingcheng said indignantly.
"Qingcheng, go wash your face. You look like a little kitten now," Gu Changqing said with a smile.
"Husband, you're so naughty..." Jiang Qingcheng then ran away shyly.
Disturbed by the two men in black, Gu Changqing suddenly remembered the money tree he had planted.
"If this hadn't happened, I probably wouldn't have remembered my money tree for a while, and I wonder how it's doing. It must have produced quite a few spirit stones." Gu Changqing slapped his forehead and muttered to himself with great joy.
Gu Changqing was overjoyed. He immediately flicked his sleeve, sat down on the ground, closed his eyes, and with a thought, went to his storage ring to check on the growth of the money tree.
As soon as I entered the storage ring, I saw that the Money Tree was lush and verdant, with ancient trees that could block out the sky. It was growing vigorously, with layers of leaves swaying in the wind. Each leaf was golden, five-sided, and made a rustling sound.
A side glance revealed that almost every leaf was covered with glittering, top-grade spirit stones, and many more spirit stones lay scattered on the ground, a truly delightful sight.
My God, so many spirit stones! It would probably take hundreds of years to spend them all. Holy crap, awesome! We've struck it rich!
Suppressing his excitement, Gu Changqing quickly went to the side of the ancient tree and began to shake it vigorously.
In an instant, a series of crisp, pleasant crashing sounds were heard, and the objects fell to the ground with a series of thuds.
One, two, three...whoosh!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took a full half hour of shaking to finally shake down every single top-grade spirit stone from the ancient tree.
Gu Changqing looked down and saw that the ground was covered with sparkling spirit stones, like dazzling diamonds, almost blinding him.
Gu Changqing grinned from ear to ear and immediately waved his hand, instantly taking all the spirit stones into his possession with a powerful aura.
Then, with a sweep of his divine sense, he discovered that there were more than 10 billion top-grade spirit stones!
Holy crap, awesome! We've struck it rich!
I never expected that these spirit stones would come so easily, it's like they're free, several times easier than eating and drinking.
Making money while lying down – nothing could be better than that. Not only is it great, but there's absolutely no risk involved. It's so easy!
This is the first time in my life I've ever seen so many top-grade spirit stones; it's truly astonishing.
Others may never have the chance to witness such an astonishing scene in their entire lives.
If this were told to others, probably no one would believe it; they would think I was daydreaming.
A fairy tale? No, it really happened.
"Hahaha, awesome..." Gu Changqing was so happy that he danced around like an innocent and adorable boy.
Then he swept his gaze across the area, thoroughly searching it until he was certain that not a single spirit stone had been missed, before returning along the same route.
A moment later, Gu Changqing slowly opened his eyes, a smile on his face, truly like a gentle breeze.
"My lord, I'm back." A woman's voice came from not far away.
Upon closer inspection, the person was none other than Jiang Qingcheng.
Just then, Jiang Qingcheng returned unhurriedly. She was now clean and tidy, looking as beautiful as a fairy from a New Year's painting.
"Hmm, Qingcheng, you're finally back! Have you had a good rest?"
Gu Changqing smiled slightly and said gently.
"Yes, I've rested well," Jiang Qingcheng said obediently.
"In that case, shall we continue on our way?" Gu Changqing asked with a faint smile and great consideration.
"Okay, I'll do whatever you say." Jiang Qingcheng nodded in agreement.
The two then rode on the red Qilin and continued their journey, heading towards the Great Yan Kingdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After an unknown number of hours, they finally arrived at the territory of the Great Yan Kingdom as they had wished.
"Husband, why is there so much thick smoke down there? It's making me very uncomfortable. What happened? Is there a fire?" Jiang Qingcheng frowned and asked, looking puzzled.
"Red Qilin, let's go down and see what happened?" Gu Changqing said seriously upon seeing this.
As soon as he finished speaking, the red Qilin flew swiftly toward the ground, seemingly even more curious than its master.
From afar, the ancient and simple city resembled an old man with white hair, weathered by time. As the sun set, the city walls were scarred and covered with countless knife marks, a testament to the countless life-or-death battles that had taken place here. Puffs of black smoke occasionally rose from the surroundings, indicating that two sides were engaged in fierce fighting, a truly awe-inspiring scene.
Upon closer inspection, a group of demonic cultivators dressed in black robes with black whisks at their waists were attacking a city within the territory of the Great Yan Kingdom.
This outfit looks so familiar, like I've seen it somewhere before.
"Why do these people's clothes look so familiar, my husband?" Jiang Qingcheng also felt that they looked familiar and asked thoughtfully.
Gu Changqing carefully recalled the scene in his mind, and finally remembered it.
Are the clothes of this group exactly the same as those of the demonic cultivator who tried to kill Zhang Hongxin?
“This group is the same one that killed Zhang Hongxin back then,” Gu Changqing said calmly.
"Oh right, how come I didn't remember? No wonder it looked so familiar," Jiang Qingcheng said with a sudden realization.
“I didn’t expect them to attack the Great Yan Kingdom. No wonder we haven’t seen any trace of them in our sect,” Jiang Qingcheng continued.
"Ignore them, let's go into the city and see if there's any other news," Gu Changqing said calmly.
Then, the two held hands and walked openly into the city.
To Gu Changqing's surprise, the city remained calm and peaceful despite the battle between the two sides.
After some inquiries, it was learned that this group of demonic cultivators only killed those who were detrimental to them and those who resisted stubbornly. As long as others did not oppose them or get involved, they would not be harmed.
Why is that? Are they kind-hearted?
No!
It's because there are too many people here, including cultivators, ordinary people, merchants, and so on. It's impossible to kill them all, and there's no need for that. They just want to occupy this place so that it will be easier to rule in the future. If they kill them all, who will they rule?
When Gu Changqing and his companion arrived at an auction house, they suddenly heard a very surprised voice.
