Pei Jinnian was shoved against the boulder by An Ning, his back pressed tightly against the cold rock, his head forced to tilt slightly back. His gaze shifted downwards, fixed on An Ning's face, and he spoke in a very calm tone, "Didn't you just take something out?"
He was referring to the moment when An Ning pulled out a knife to threaten Jiang Yu.
But An Ning didn't think she had pulled out a knife.
How can you call it "pulling out a knife" if there's no blood?
That's not good at all.
So Anning slowly shook her head. "I don't think that was pulling out a knife. If the knife had turned red just now, I could admit it."
"So what he just pulled out was a toy."
She solemnly concluded, her amber eyes fixed on Pei Jinnian in front of her.
She used considerable force; although she couldn't actually strangle someone to death, the feeling of suffocation would still be present at any moment.
But... just looking at Pei Jinnian's expression right now, how does he look like someone who is having difficulty breathing?
Can you break free?
Seeing that Pei Jinnian had not made any move for a long time, An Ning took the initiative to ask him about his current situation.
If Pei Jinnian says he can break free from his shackles, then the fight isn't over yet. If Pei Jinnian says he can't break free from his shackles... then she'll have to find someone else.
After all, her ambition was to be invincible.
And coincidentally, besides Jiang Yu and the person she was holding, there was another person here.
Meanwhile, this person kept glancing in her direction, showing that she cared about Pei Jinnian quite a bit, afraid that An Ning might do something rash to him.
An Ning was lost in thought when she was about to tell Meng Qi about their fight when someone grabbed Pei Jin Nian's hand tightly.
The other person had a lot of strength. An Ning thought that if the other person had put in just a little more force, her wrist bones might have been broken.
Following the direction from which the arm was extended, An Ning saw Zhang Xunyi's face, staring straight at her with some emotion flickering in his eyes, looking as if he was teetering on the edge of losing control.
Anning didn't know what this person was trying to do, but even though she could tell that something was wrong with him, there was nothing she could do.
Because Zhang Xunyi now has an extra item in his hand. The item is black with a patina on its edges and buttons. It is an old-fashioned telephone with a strong sense of history—a "big brother" phone.
It doesn't look like Zhang Xunyi's own; it seems to be from the show's production team.
Because that mobile phone had a sticker that read "Survival Countdown" on it.
Anyone with a modicum of common sense can guess where this came from.
"Have you arrived at the cruise ship?"
An Ning released her grip and slapped away Zhang Xunyi's hand that was on her wrist. "You're still alive."
She spoke casually, which made Zhang Xunyi, who was standing next to her, so angry that his face turned pale.
After Anning finished speaking, she realized that what she had said was quite ambiguous, so she explained herself again, "You arrived and were still able to come out?"
"Weren't you taken in by the men in black?"
She realized almost immediately after she finished speaking that the location was remote and not close to the cruise ship where the production crew was docked. Because of the filming, they couldn't stay on the cruise ship at the moment. It was a closed cage with no contact with the outside world. Ang Lee probably gave this to Zhang Xunyi so that they could have a way to communicate with the outside world.
After figuring this out, An Ning casually asked, "Did the director say when we could use this mobile phone?"
But she didn't expect that her casual remark would elicit a horrified look from Zhang Xunyi.
The other person glanced at her briefly before quickly looking away. After swallowing, Zhang Xunyi cautiously spoke, "Tell me to scream for help when I want to..."
Hearing this answer, An Ning raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? Is there anything else terrifying on this island? Something so terrifying that we need to call for help?"
No one would think that An Ning was simply asking a question; they would only think that An Ning's words were a veiled threat.
Meng Qi was the first to speak, answering An Ning's question, "No, how could there be such a thing on this island? If there really is, I would definitely call the director to come and solve it immediately."
Yes, she'll go and call the director to come and take care of Anning in a bit.
Being with Anning was terrifying; I felt a cold sweat break out on my back.
After giving An Ning a perfunctory answer, Meng Qi subconsciously wanted to find a safer place. After looking around for most of the area, Meng Qi still couldn't find that so-called safe place.
Having searched for so long without finding a suitable place, Meng Qi was about to reach out and help Pei Jinnian, who was still leaning against the boulder, when she froze the moment she reached out her hand.
Pei Jinnian dodged her outstretched hand, seemingly deliberately keeping his distance from her.
Meng Qi blinked blankly, and after a long while, she managed to squeeze out a question from her throat: "Are you still going to fight her?"
The person she asked shook his head, his signature smile returning to his face. "No, I've already lost, haven't I?"
He said these words without lowering his voice at all, and every word reached An Ning's ears.
That's a nice thing to say.
But she was still curious about the person in front of her. "Is your mobile phone any good? Can I borrow it to play with it?"
When Anning spoke, she blinked, her face full of sincere emotion, but Zhang Xunyi, who adhered to his principles and bottom line, still refused.
He shook his head decisively, "No."
Hearing the answer she expected, An Ning wasn't too surprised. However, An Ning had never intended to take it properly from the beginning. "Then I'll just snatch it."
With just six simple words, before she could even utter any other harsh words, the mobile phone that Zhang Xunyi had been holding tightly in his hand was handed to her.
What's even more outrageous is that Zhang Xunyi presented it with both hands.
An Ning didn't stand on ceremony at all, snatching the mobile phone into her hand. Looking at the old-fashioned screen that looked like it had been around for many years, she patted it expressionlessly, "Hey, can you hear me, sir?"
She suddenly spoke up, saying that this mobile phone only had one number stored in it, and if nothing unexpected happened, it must belong to someone in the production team.
So Anning decisively dialed the number. It rang for only a second or two before the busy tone disappeared, and then a female voice came through.
"What's wrong, baby?"
Just as Li An reached the door, he slipped and almost lost a front tooth, a man in his middle age.
What's going on?
A green grassland above your head?
