What's going on?
Shan Qiqi's hand, which she had just raised to pluck the leaves again, froze in mid-air, her face showing a somewhat dazed and confused expression.
They just left, didn't they?
How could I... have failed to survive?
Just as she was wondering, An Ning, who had just walked past, rushed towards her. "What's going on? What happened to her?"
Their faces showed the same bewilderment and shock.
"I don't know either..."
Upon hearing An Ning's words, Shan Qiqi blinked, still in a daze.
"Sister Anning, didn't you leave with Sister Ji Yan just now?"
"No," Anning corrected her, "We were going in opposite directions, so I have no idea how she failed to survive. How could the infected act so quickly?"
She and Shan Qiqi stared at each other for a long time before Shan Qiqi finally asked, "Can we still see Sister Ji Yan if we go there now?"
An Ning cautiously replied, "I reckon they've already been taken away by the staff."
Upon hearing her words, Dan Qiqi's initial eagerness immediately cooled down. "Really?"
Even so, she couldn't help but look in the direction where Ji Yan had left.
Her intentions were so obvious that even though she didn't say it outright, Anning understood what she meant. So Anning suggested at the right moment, "Let's go take a look."
"Okay, okay!"
Dan Qiqi responded to An Ning's words almost immediately, the daze and shock in her eyes completely disappearing, leaving only excitement.
Anning didn't know what she was so excited about, but she still said, "Let's go, we need to hurry."
As it turned out, perhaps because not much time had passed since the broadcast announcement, they actually saw Ji Yan when they arrived.
At this moment, two staff members were standing beside Ji Yan. One staff member was holding Ji Yan's arm, while the other was standing next to her.
Because they arrived late, even though they could see Ji Yan, they were still quite far away and couldn't clearly see where the scars were on her body, which is why the director judged her to have failed to survive.
But only Shan Qiqi couldn't see it; An Ning, standing not far from her, could see it clearly.
Ji Yan was perfectly fine, but she had a scratch on her shoulder. However, the scratch didn't actually cause her any harm; it just left a large tear in her clothes at the shoulder.
The scratches alone do not reveal what caused them.
But Anning knew.
It's a dart used to pop balloons.
"It seems we will never know who did it."
Dan Qiqi's attention was drawn to An Ning's words. She turned to look at her and couldn't help but sigh, "That infected person hid really well..."
Because of this turn of her head, she successfully missed the glance that Ji Yan cast in her direction.
That glance, aside from a negligible amount of resentment, was mostly filled with mockery.
Unexpectedly, she was eliminated so quickly this time.
Ji Yan looked at An Ning and Shan Qiqi not far away and thought to herself.
But that's okay, there's always next time.
The road ahead is long; she will get her revenge eventually.
An Ning met Ji Yan's gaze and made an innocent and affected expression. Under Ji Yan's watchful eye, she pulled Shan Qiqi away step by step.
"Sister Anning, have you found any information about the infected?" Shan Qiqi followed Anning's footsteps back to where they had come from, but her question was not answered immediately. Just when she thought she would not get an answer to her question, Anning suddenly answered her.
"I received a message from a traveler that said: 'The acting is indescribable.'"
An Ning's words were met with silence from Shan Qiqi.
After a long silence, the other person finally managed to utter, "Who...are you referring to? Do you have anyone in mind?"
He spoke with great difficulty, as if he were squeezing the words out through his teeth.
It's understandable that Shan Qiqi sounded hesitant, given that everyone in the entertainment industry is prone to rumors about each other. Before her successful debut, Shan Qiqi had been a trainee for several years, and she had heard countless rumors about someone's acting skills.
She even went to see it out of curiosity, and after seeing it, Shan Qiqi really felt that those netizens' comments were absolutely right.
It's really an eyesore; not only is it an eyesore, it's also rubbish.
But now that the protagonist is right beside her, she can't possibly use such an evaluation as the accurate answer to An Ning's words.
So she had to find something else to say.
An Ning pretended not to see Shan Qiqi's disgusted expression, and stroked her chin thoughtfully. "To be honest, I think this message is quite specific... meaning, I think this message is about me."
She deliberately paused for a moment when she gave her conclusion, successfully whetting Shan Qiqi's appetite. As expected, the answer Shan Qiqi heard from her was the same as what she had thought.
That is to find peace within oneself.
"Then, Sister Anning, aren't you a traveler?"
Finally hearing what she wanted to hear from Shan Qiqi, An Ning smiled with satisfaction. "Yes, I think I am a traveler, so my main task now is to find information about the infected, and then wipe them out in one fell swoop to complete this survival!"
She spoke in such an inspiring way, as if it were an extremely exciting competition. Shan Qiqi's youthful passion was ignited, and she loudly echoed, "Survive! The Traveler will win!"
After finishing speaking, her face turned completely red, and she felt that she had made a huge fool of herself this time.
But Anning didn't care at all, and simply put her arm around her shoulder, "Come on, let's finish this task of picking leaves first."
With her head down and too embarrassed to look up, Shan Qiqi nodded and said softly, "Okay."
And so Anning embarked on a leaf-picking adventure with the little boy she had recruited.
Thanks to An Ning's participation and the absence of interference from others, An Ning and Shan Qiqi successfully completed the task and obtained the message that had been taken.
The person who took the information card was Shan Qiqi. Before she could even see what the words were, a genuine smile appeared on her face. "Sister Anning, the words are in red!"
In other words, the information card in Shan Qiqi's hand contained information about the infected person.
An Ning wasn't worried at all; she simply raised an eyebrow and asked, "What does it say?"
She also wanted to know who her other two teammates were.
Just as Shan Qiqi was about to look down at the contents of the card, something unexpected happened: a hurried footstep approached them.
An Ning instantly became alert and looked in the direction from which the sound came.
"Who killed Sister Ji Yan!?"
