Chapter 11 Three Visits to the Palace

An Ning had never seen a fight that went on so quickly. She had only just raised her fist and punched the other leader in his ugly, filthy face when the fight was over.

It wasn't that they wanted it to end, but the police arrived.

Yes, the police have arrived.

They didn't call the police.

It probably wasn't the people on the other side either, because those people were even more shocked than she was when they saw the police.

That would most likely be a passerby... or those three little girls.

There's nothing she can do now; the police have arrived, and she can't continue hitting them in front of them.

That would be a serious violation of the law; she's not that crazy.

However... the police officers who arrived looked somewhat familiar.

It seems like she saw him just two days ago.

Because she was quite far away, An Ning couldn't see it clearly, but when she got closer, she found that it was indeed true.

The police officers who came to arrest them for gang fighting were indeed people she knew; they were the same people who had arrested her before and accused her of being a human trafficker.

Looking at An Ning's familiar face, Lin Hang's expression stiffened, and after a long while, he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence through gritted teeth, "You have quite a few side hustles."

His main job is acting, his side job is human trafficking, and now he's also a triad boss.

This completely changed his perception of what a good Chinese citizen should be.

Before putting An Ning into the police car, Lin Hang suddenly said, "A good citizen of China?"

An Ning paused, shaking the pure silver handcuffs on her hands. "This is inevitable."

"Didn't you say we'd never see each other again?" Lin Hang asked again.

An Ning gave a helpless smile. "There's nothing I can do about it, but I really didn't participate in any gang fights. I'm a good citizen of China."

After she finished speaking, she blinked sincerely, her clear and bright eyes fixed on him. Lin Hang was stunned for a few seconds before sneering, "No good citizen of China treats the police station like his own backyard."

After Anning got into the car, she slammed the door shut.

-

"Name."

"Officer, we've already gone through this procedure, so we don't need to go through it again, right?"

"Name."

"……peaceful."

It was still the familiar cramped interrogation room. An Ning sat inside, facing Lin Hang with a stern face. After asking a few routine questions, he began the main questioning.

"Why did you engage in a group fight?" The record clerk sitting next to Lin Hang immediately typed a line in his notebook after hearing his question, then looked up at An Ning, waiting for her response.

Three seconds later, she received An Ning's response: "I didn't start a brawl, I acted in self-defense."

"Officer, you have no idea how scared I was when I saw those eight big men. I'm just a weak woman, I can't even kill a chicken. Most importantly, I have muscular dystrophy. I usually get out of breath just carrying two pounds of apples up three flights of stairs, and I can't even wring out a wet cotton-padded coat. How could I possibly have the ability to face those eight strong men alone?"

Lin Hang was about to speak, but stopped abruptly just before he opened his mouth.

Seeing the black Bluetooth device next to Lin Hang's ear flash, An Ning immediately felt a sense of foreboding.

She seems to be in serious trouble.

Will those big guys betray her?

The big guys didn't betray her, but it was no different from them betraying her.

Because... Wang Dahu openly admitted in the interrogation room that An Ning was his boss.

"Who's the girl next door? She's my boss! Don't let her skinny appearance fool you; she looks malnourished, but she's a formidable fighter! She could take on eight people at once without a problem!"

After saying that, he added, "The boss is incredibly good at fighting, even better than me. I thought I was already pretty good, but it turns out the boss is much better than me. When I was being beaten on the ground, the boss even stood up for me."

In the interrogation room, the police officer relayed Wang Dahu's words verbatim to Lin Hang. After hearing his colleague's description, Lin Hang slowly raised his head and looked at the person opposite him.

With just one glance, An Ning sensed that something was wrong.

Wang Dahu and his ilk definitely did something to wrong her.

Lin Hang's words confirmed her suspicions: "But Wang Dahu's story is different. According to his description, you are really amazing. You are a middle-aged man weighing 200 pounds with muscles all over his body. You can take on ten men by yourself... You have a bright future ahead of you."

An Ning gave a perfunctory twitch of her lips, not really wanting to talk to Lin Hang, but if she didn't explain herself clearly, she would have to wait until the 24th before she could leave, and then Sister Lan would be worried to death.

Thinking of this, An Ning stopped hiding her intentions and said directly, "I was actually doing a good deed, not instigating a brawl."

"Take care of the thugs and hooligans for the neighborhood? You can call it doing a good deed if you want." Lin Hang had a mysterious smile on his lips.

Instead of answering, An Ning asked, "I have a question for the officer: can I find out who made the emergency call?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Hang's expression immediately became alert, and he stared intently at An Ning with his sharp gaze. "What, you still want revenge afterward? Let me tell you, the mastermind behind a gang fight can be sentenced to up to ten years in prison. You'd better consider the consequences before you do anything."

Every word he said was a warning to Anning not to try to do anything meaningless.

Seeing that he had misunderstood her, An Ning was both amused and exasperated. "Officer, you've misunderstood me. I just wanted to know if the three people who made the emergency call were three girls? They seemed to be in a hurry, like they had been running for a long time, and they were probably panting heavily."

"I guess they meant, 'Someone is trying to molest a minor in the old street behind Jinghai High School... The address is... The address is No. 32, Lane 21, Qianchao Road.'"

"Hello, I need to report a crime. Someone in the old street behind Jinghai High School is attempting to molest a minor... The address is... The address is No. 32, Lane 21, Qianchao Road!"

Lin Hang heard the girl's hurried, heavy breathing. The voice from An Ning in front of him gradually overlapped with that voice, and finally, they both fell into his ears with the last syllable.

"Officer, am I right?"

Lin Hang concealed his shock and tried to appear calm. "You were there when they called the police? You know what they look like?!"

He practically shouted his last few words, as if it would be a terrible thing if An Ning found out what those girls looked like.

An Ning was completely baffled by his reaction. "So what? I'm the one who saved them."

His tone was nonchalant, revealing no trace of lying.

It's as if that's really the case.

"You really dare to say that." Lin Hang looked at her coldly.

Anning's temper flared up after being repeatedly accused by Lin Hang. She put away her expression and cast a cold, emotionless glance at Lin Hang. "Officer Lin, your surname is Lin, right? It doesn't matter. What matters is that I feel you are handling the case with emotions on your mind, which is very disrespectful to me, since I haven't done anything wrong."
