Just as Bell was launching a full-scale attack on Tang Hao and Liu Yu, one of the Eagle Legion warriors behind him suddenly betrayed him. He swiftly crushed a magic scroll, and in an instant, an invisible wind blade appeared out of thin air, striking Bell squarely in the back of the heart. Even with flames and armor protecting him, Bell instantly lost consciousness, staggering to the ground, unconscious.
Tang Hao and Liu Yu were overjoyed, eager to seize this golden opportunity. They attacked simultaneously from the left and right, their broadswords and longswords slashing at Bell from two different angles, but both struck empty air. Bell, possessing some unknown means of self-preservation, vanished into thin air while completely unconscious, leaving Liu Yu feeling a pang of frustration.
However, with Bell gone, the overall situation was already decided, and the outcome was still acceptable to the Light Alliance.
Liu Yu let out a long sigh, gripped his longsword, and coldly surveyed the remaining members of the Eagle Gang.
"Bell has already escaped, are you still going to put up a stubborn resistance?"
The remaining Eagle Legion members exchanged glances. Several of them then laid down their weapons and tossed their wristwatches to the ground, clearly familiar with the surrender process—they seemed to have done this many times before. Only a group of warriors with red flame tattoos on their chests refused to surrender, angrily berating the surrendering survivors and shouting that they would die for their lord.
"It seems these people are soldiers recruited from the barracks. What do you think we should do, Chief?"
Tang Hao beheaded a soldier from the Eagle Regiment who refused to surrender, then turned to Liu Yu for a question. Liu Yu simply waved his hand, deciding the soldiers' fate, and then led a group of his men to the top floor, the control center of the protective light barrier. There, a red-haired old man remained to be dealt with. Fearing that the old man would learn of Bell's escape and the Eagle Regiment's defeat, Liu Yu, in a fit of rage, dismantled the light barrier, opting for a desperate, all-or-nothing attack.
However, to Liu Yu's surprise, the red-haired old man seemed to have known what was happening below all along, and calmly tossed out his wristwatch in surrender. Liu Yu's expression changed, and he checked the wristwatch. Sure enough, the backpack was empty, presumably having been moved by the old man.
Liu Yu suppressed his anger and said in a sinister tone.
"Are you absolutely certain I won't kill you?"
The red-haired old man smiled disdainfully, his gaze fixed on Liu Yu. He saw a strong killing intent in Liu Yu's eyes, and a chill ran down his spine. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead, but he still managed to reply with an air of nonchalance.
"It seems you are unaware of your predicament. If you really kill me, you will truly be doomed."
In the control center, there were only Liu Yu and the red-haired old man. Liu Yu abandoned his usual gentle and humble demeanor, kicked the red-haired old man to the ground, and cursed angrily.
“Old Biden, I’ve already taken control of that protective light barrier. You’re useless now. I’m going to send you to meet the King of Hell, or rather, to meet God.”
When the red-haired old man saw that Liu Yu had actually drawn his sword, he panicked and dared not pretend anymore, so he quickly revealed his trump card.
"Wait a minute, you have all been poisoned by the young master's fire poison. If it is not treated, you may die from the poison at any time."
Liu Yu paused, his raised sword momentarily unsure of the truthfulness of the other party's words. After much deliberation, he lowered the sword and kicked the red-haired old man in the leg again.
"Tell me honestly about what kind of fire poison you are, or you'll suffer more."
...
Zhang Shi was supervising the prisoners' work in the mining area when he saw Zhang Dazhuang running towards him. Upon seeing Zhang Shi, Zhang Dazhuang immediately shouted. Zhang Shi frowned, noticing Zhang Dazhuang's unusual behavior, and guessed that he might have something important to report. He then used a Shadow Step to appear behind Zhang Dazhuang.
"Speak slowly, what's wrong?"
Zhang Dazhuang was startled. Upon seeing that it was Zhang Shi, he released his grip on the long sword and pointed towards the north bank.
“There, there’s a boat passing by.”
Zhang Shi was taken aback, and various guesses flashed through his mind. He then fully armed himself and led a team of men to the port on the north bank to check the situation.
Upon arriving at the destination, Zhang Shi saw that Zhao Feng had already led his fleet to surround the enemy.
It was a white cruise ship, exquisitely and luxuriously decorated, seemingly the work of the system, and certainly not something a survivor could build. On board, three disheveled men were nervously watching the fleet, gripping their weapons tightly. They seemed to have just happened to be passing by, otherwise they wouldn't be so tense and flustered.
Zhang Shi went ashore and carefully examined the three men's faces, inwardly chuckling to himself. These three on the cruise ship were all acquaintances—Wang Wu, Zhu Dachang, and Xiaobai, the three who had frequently chatted in the chat channel before. Zhang Shi couldn't help but wonder how these three had gotten together and why they were appearing at his doorstep.
Driven by his emotions, Zhang Shi quickly piloted the landing craft towards the cruise ship. When they were close enough, he used Shadow Step to teleport onto the ship, startling Cheng Xiaobai so much that she screamed and nearly threw her spear. At the critical moment, Wang Wu pressed her down. Looking at the massive fleet, Wang Wu knew that if they really fought, the three of them would definitely be in trouble.
"Brother, we were just passing by and had no intention of disturbing you. We will not reveal any information about this place. Please do us a favor and let us leave."
Wang Wu first lowered his stance, trying to communicate with this dangerous figure who was completely covered in armor.
Zhang Shi did not respond. Instead, he walked around the deck on his own, carefully observing the setup of the cruise ship. After confirming that there was no offensive equipment, he asked indifferently.
"What are you doing here? Why are you here? Where did you get this ship?"
Faced with Zhang Shi's three questions, the three exchanged glances, and then Wang Wu stepped forward to answer them one by one.
"Brother, you know that since the flood, many survivors have been displaced and even survival has become a problem. They have no choice but to band together for warmth and seek refuge with some organizations. However, not everyone has the means of teleportation, and there are many restrictions. Those survivors who want to transfer to the organization's base need to use us. To put it bluntly, our business is like a sea taxi, and we occasionally take on some cargo transportation business."
"As for the accidental intrusion, it was purely coincidental. We received an order yesterday and were returning after delivering the customer when we encountered a storm at sea, which caused us to veer off course. We saw an island in the distance and thought we would come here to rest, but we didn't expect it to be occupied. Please forgive us if we have offended anyone."
"As for the last question, I got this cruise ship while playing a game. It just so happened that a flood came, so it became our means of making a living."
