Chapter 193 Earth Beast Attack

Zhang Shi was extremely agitated. He gritted his teeth and charged forward again, engaging in a fierce battle with the men in black robes.

Seeing that Zhang Shi's situation was dire, Ge Dalong and Wu Qing joined forces to throw numerous Molotov cocktails at the entrance of the city lord's mansion. In an instant, a dense wall of fire rose, temporarily holding back the endless, invisible forces. However, this was only a temporary measure; without dealing with these rabble, they wouldn't have time to help Zhang Shi.

"We need to come up with a way to completely deal with them."

Ge Dalong frantically hurled Molotov cocktails forward. The invisible beings, possessing a degree of intelligence, stopped on the other side of the wall of fire, effectively being delayed by Ge Dalong.

Wu Qing's eyes darted around, and she took out a test tube from her backpack and carefully handed it to Ge Dalong.

"Use this, be careful not to get it stuck."

Looking at the test tube filled with green solvent in his hand, Ge Dalong asked in confusion.

"What's this?"

"Zombie virus!"

Wu Qing responded indifferently, her tone somewhat cold.

Ge Dalong's hand holding the test tube trembled slightly. In an instant, many thoughts flashed through his mind, but he had to admit that this was the best way to solve the current predicament, so he didn't care about what would happen next. He took out a bow and arrows, carefully coated the arrows with the green solution, and then gave them to Zhang Dazhuang. The two of them fired blindly towards the outside of the fire wall.

The monster density is extremely high. If even one monster is hit, the virus will take effect and spread throughout the horde within minutes. For them now, a group of mindless zombies is far easier to deal with than intelligent, invisible monsters.

As the arrow pierced the air, carrying the green zombie virus, it flew into the darkness formed by the invisible forces, and time seemed to freeze for a moment. Ge Dalong and Zhang Dazhuang nervously watched the other side of the wall of fire, awaiting the unknown developments. Wu Qing clenched her fists, her eyes flashing with a resolute light.

Ge Dalong glanced at Wu Qing. He knew the stakes were high, but he was willing to take the risk for the team's survival.

Minutes later, chaotic roars began to echo from outside the wall of fire. The previously silent and invisible beings seemed to be torn apart by an unseen force, becoming frenzied and restless. Green fluorescence spread rapidly among the monsters, like a plague, transforming the invisible figures into grotesque zombies. These zombies lost their original intelligence and coordination, left only with the most primal killing instinct, beginning to kill each other or blindly charging at the wall of fire.

"It worked!"

Zhang Dazhuang shouted excitedly, sweat streaming down his face, but he was unusually excited. Seeing this, Ge Dalong continued to fire arrows contaminated with the virus, each arrow like a pebble thrown into a lake, stirring up ripples of death.

The zombie virus was spreading rapidly among the invisible monsters, and the entrance to the city lord's mansion was in complete chaos. Seeing that the situation was gradually under his control, Ge Dalong stopped firing, carefully put the remaining small amount of zombie virus into his backpack, threw a few Molotov cocktails towards the wall of fire, and then turned to support Zhang Shi.

Zhang Shi's situation wasn't easy either. The continuous battles had greatly depleted his stamina, and coupled with the earlier sneak attack, any movement caused him excruciating pain in his back. Even though Zhao Feng remained energetic and at the forefront, the black-robed men's ability to heal themselves was undeniable. No matter how severe the injuries inflicted by the two men, they would always slowly recover and then reappear like a stubborn plaster, causing Zhang Shi considerable headaches.

The three men in black robes each produced another robe from somewhere and draped it over their bodies, covering their transparent forms.

Zhang Shi was puzzled. He couldn't understand why these three guys, who could have easily used their invisibility to cause him even more trouble, would deliberately wear conspicuous robes and expose their figures.

Just then, as if in response to Zhang Shi's question, the entire city lord's mansion suddenly began to shake violently. The ground and walls began to twist and deform, and all the buildings began to writhe wildly like a piece of rubber.

"It's an earth beast! Quickly, get to higher ground!"

Zhang Shi shouted, reminding his companions to evacuate temporarily.

Outside the wall of fire, a large number of invisible monsters infected with the zombie virus and some charred corpses were devoured by the earth beasts. The remaining few invisible monsters that still retained their sanity scattered in all directions, presumably also fleeing from this place.

However, this time the earth beast did not immediately return to calm as before, but continued to create tremors. The streets near the city lord's mansion were almost turned upside down, and even Zhang Shi and others who had climbed to a high place had difficulty maintaining their balance and almost fell down.

On the other side, three men in black robes also sped away from the city by stepping over the courtyard wall. The one in the blood-stained black robes spoke, his tone full of anger.

"That beast, it's come here again, drawn by the smell."

The other man in the black robe and long spear lowered his center of gravity, crouched down, and jogged forward quickly.

"This commotion has caused such a big stir, and too many of those kids outside have died. You should think about how you're going to explain this to the elders when you get back."

Upon hearing the mention of the elder, the arrogant man in the blood-stained black robe immediately lost his composure and fell silent.

Suddenly, two dark arms emerged from the courtyard wall. The material resembled modern asphalt, and some liquid, like silt, was flowing on them.

The arms swiftly and accurately seized the transparent legs of the blood-stained black-robed man, then yanked him off balance, pulling him and swallowing most of his body into the wall. The next second, the wall began to rapidly collapse, transforming into a giant lizard over three meters tall. Inside the lizard's mouth, the blood-stained black-robed man struggled frantically; judging from his clothing, his entire lower body was already inside the lizard's jaws, about to be devoured.

Upon seeing this, the leader of the black-robed men flew to the giant lizard, conjured a black longsword, and swiftly severed the upper half of the blood-stained black-robed man's body. He then grabbed the severed half of the man's flesh and fled at high speed.

However, the beings underground seemed to have their eyes on them. In the blink of an eye, several more giant lizards "spit out" from the ground all around, instantly surrounding the people in black robes.

The blood-stained man in the black robe was in dire straits. His lower body had been devoured, and the flesh buds on his body were constantly growing, but the time it would take to regrow them was far greater than the time it would take to rebuild them. He knew he had become a burden and looked at his leader in a panic.

"Huo Ping, my master is an elder. If anything happens to me, neither of you will have an easy time."

The black-robed leader turned to look at him, his invisible gaze seemingly sweeping over him again and again.

"Huo Linfeng, today's events are all because of you. If you hadn't been greedy for blood, we wouldn't have stayed here for so long."

Huo Ping paused for a moment, his tone growing increasingly cold.

"Furthermore, this time it involves both earth beasts and outsiders, so some casualties are to be expected. I don't think the elders will make things difficult for us."

With that, Huo Ping flung Huo Linfeng's severed body into the air. The giant lizards that had been watching them pounced like hungry tigers, quickly tearing him apart. Huo Linfeng didn't even have time to utter a sound before his life was ended. Huo Ping and his companion seized the opportunity to escape the encirclement and flee into the distance.
