Chapter 146 Fourth Aunt

To wrap up the whole thing.

Upon hearing this, the customers at the back of the line immediately became dissatisfied.

"Brother, there's still so much left in this pot. Let's share it so everyone can have a taste."

"Exactly! You bought so much, can you even finish it all?!"

"Are you deliberately buying everything so that people at the back of the line can't buy it? You can't be that unfair!"

The man with the gruff voice was actually just a skinny monkey, lacking any semblance of authority.

If he were a tall, strong man, the people in line behind him wouldn't dare to argue and would have waved and left long ago.

The skinny man said, "My family has over twenty members, and this little bit of food isn't even enough to fill their teeth. Do you think it's enough?!"

The slightly overweight man who had previously criticized the man for being dishonest ignored the thin man's words and instead left the decision to Lu Qiqi.

The slightly overweight man demanded, "Young lady, how much is this pot? We can't just wait this long for nothing!"

Lu Qiqi always believed that as long as she did not violate her Dao heart, morality could not bind her.

Lu Qiqi said, "First come, first served. Since this guest came first, whether he wants a whole bushel or the whole bunch, it is his right as a consumer."

"If he's willing to share with you, that's a favor; if he's not willing to share, that's his right."

"I will sell it to him first, no matter what."

Upon hearing Lu Qiqi's words, some customers walked away sheepishly, while others grumbled and said they would never patronize the store again.

Lu Qiqi didn't mind and packed all the potato chips for him as the skinny man had said.

The thin man paid and said, "Miss, you're reasonable. Just because of what you said, I'll come back to buy from you again next time."

Lu Qiqi smiled and said, "You're welcome anytime."

The skinny man, clutching his potato chips, chuckled and walked away.

Lu Qiqi said, "On Saturday, you stay here and wait for my second brother to come back so he can help you pack up. Your eldest brother and I will go buy some potatoes and corn."

"While you're at it, go to the bookstore and pick out some books for your pre-school education."

Saturday nodded, "Okay."

On Saturday, he handed over all the money he had collected that day to Lu Qiqi, saying, "Here is a total of two thousand six hundred and sixty-six coins."

Lu Qiqi took the money bag and looked at Zhou Liu with an appreciative gaze, saying, "Okay, I understand."

After saying that, Lu Qiqi took the money and left with Zhou Yi.

The potatoes and corn are stored in her space, and she'll bring them back on Monday after she buys the books.

After that, just put the potatoes and corn out in the backyard of the noodle shop.

Having made her plans, Lu Qiqi headed straight for the bookstore she remembered.

The bookstores in Qingshui Town are located in the East Market, which is in the opposite direction from the noodle shops in the West Market.

Lu Qiqi and Zhou Yi walked for more than a quarter of an hour before they reached the entrance of the bookstore.

The large plaque bears four bold characters written in a vigorous, dragon-and-phoenix style: Chen's Bookstore, with a scroll painting above it.

Lu Qiqi hadn't expected that the Chen family's business was so extensive, even including bookstores.

The vast span from animal husbandry to education demonstrates the capabilities of those in charge.

Lu Qiqi lifted her skirt with both hands and walked up the stairs.

Suddenly, a pair of hands reached out towards her, but fortunately she reacted quickly and dodged them.

Upon seeing this, Zhou Yi immediately stood in front of Lu Qiqi, his hands grabbing Lu Qiqi's wrists with such force that it felt like he was concentrating all his strength into one place, causing even a grown man like him to feel some pain.

On Monday, he swung his hand back forcefully and instantly broke free from those hands.

"Seventh Girl, save me!" A hoarse, broken voice rang out.

Lu Qiqi turned her head and saw two burly men lifting up a woman, preparing to leave.

The woman's hair was disheveled, and her clothes were dirty and tattered. She looked like a prisoner exiled three thousand miles away, wearing only a thin undergarment in the dead of winter.

"Help me!" the woman pleaded, stretching out her hands to Lu Qiqi.

Lu Qiqi found the woman's face somewhat familiar, but she couldn't recall when she had seen her before. She guessed that she might be someone the original owner of this body knew, otherwise she wouldn't be able to call out her name.

Annoyed by the woman's struggles, a burly man slapped her hard across the face. "You filthy bitch, shut up! If you dare make another sound, I'll strip you naked right here and throw you out into the street!"

The woman, seemingly unwilling to give up her last chance, continued to struggle with a trace of blood on her lips.

Just as the burly man was about to make a move, Lu Qiqi shouted sharply, "Wait!"

The burly man paused, raised his hand that was about to strike the woman's face, turned his head to look at Lu Qiqi and said, "It's none of your business how I discipline my disobedient maid!"

The woman shook her head vigorously, as if expressing her utter disagreement with the burly man's words.

Lu Qiqi wasn't one to stick her neck out, but the woman looked very familiar to her. If she was someone the original owner cared about, then it would be like the flood washing away the Dragon King's temple.

Lu Qiqi said, "I'll just ask a few questions. If there are no problems, I naturally won't stop you from doing your work."

"Otherwise, we can go to the government office and make things clear!"

The two burly men noticed that Lu Qiqi's clothes were simple, but the hairpin in her hair was definitely not an ordinary item.

Having worked in the brothel for many years, they had some sense of propriety; otherwise, they wouldn't have been so foolish as to offend someone important without knowing what they had done wrong.

The burly man guessed that Lu Qiqi was just startled by the madwoman's actions and wanted to figure out what was going on.

I figured she was just a young girl with only a young attendant by her side, and she wouldn't be able to cause any trouble.

A burly man said, "Then hurry up and ask. If you dare to pester us again after you've asked, no matter whose benefactor you are, our manager is not one to be trifled with."

Lu Qiqi nodded, looked directly at the woman, and asked bluntly, "You know me? And who are you?"
