Chapter 203: Things Seem to Be Getting Better

When Dr. Huang uttered a name, the other doctors were all dumbfounded, their faces filled with disbelief.

Dr. Ma was the first to react, saying, "Is that Miss Lu really that amazing?"

The other two doctors also looked at Dr. Huang with the same question in their eyes, wanting to know the answer.

A hint of displeasure flashed across Doctor Huang's face, and he said in a deep voice, "Would I lie about something like this?"

Upon hearing this, several doctors urged Dr. Huang to recount how Lu Qiqi had treated the villagers of Yi'an Village.

After listening, the three doctors were both excited and proud, as if they were filled with energy, and they all felt that choosing Lu Qiqi was the right decision.

They might even gain a good reputation from this.

When they went to get the medicine in the afternoon, the three doctors were extremely polite to Lu Qiqi, calling her "Miss Lu" affectionately.

He would ask a very simple question, then pretend to understand, leaving Lu Qiqi completely confused.

However, Lu Qiqi didn't have time to care why they had become like this after just one meal.

Instead, he was busy directing Lu Da and the others to prepare medicine for the villagers.

To enhance the medicine's effectiveness, Lu Qiqi secretly replaced the water in the water tank with spiritual spring water from her spatial storage while everyone was having lunch.

Smoke curled from chimneys, and the aroma of medicinal herbs gradually filled the air above Tianxin Village.

Simmering over low heat for a quarter of an hour, the medicine was finally ready. The water in the earthenware pot, which was originally clear, turned as black as ink.

Lu Da extinguished the last flame in the stove, and then heard Lu Qiqi's voice, "Brother Lu, have someone call the villagers over to line up and drink their medicine."

Lu Da nodded and called to the person next to him, "Xiao Dong, go and call someone."

"Okay," Zhao Xiaodong readily agreed and went to call for help.

Before long, a long line formed in front of the stove, with villagers holding bowls, ready to receive their medicine.

While the villagers received and drank the medicine, Lu Qiqi and several doctors informed them of the contraindications and foods that should not be consumed together with it.

After a busy afternoon, we finally finished distributing the medicine. Now we can wait for the medicine to take effect before we can proceed to the next step of treatment.

At dinner time, Li Changlong angrily sat down opposite Lu Qiqi with his bowl in hand, and buried his head in his rice without saying a word.

Lu Qiqi swallowed the food in her mouth and asked with concern, "Second Brother, what's wrong?"

Li Changlong slammed the bowl down on the table, his eyes red with anger, and said, "That guy surnamed Gao is no good!"

Li Changlong rarely got this angry. In Lu Qiqi's memory, her second brother was kind to everyone, and when he was embarrassed, he would scratch his head with a silly smile.

Lu Qiqi asked again, "What's wrong with him?"

Li Changlong was holding back his anger and wanted to vent his frustrations.

But when he saw Lu Qiqi looking exhausted and asking him what was wrong, he couldn't say anything.

He could only suppress his anger, pick up his bowl and chopsticks again, say it was nothing, and then bury his head in his rice.

There is a tendency to turn grief and anger into appetite.

On Monday, I was in charge of serving the dishes and would bring my bowl to eat a little later than Li Changlong.

Seeing Li Changlong's appearance, Lu Qiqi knew she wouldn't get anything out of him, so she turned to Zhou Yi for answers.

On Monday, he didn't seem to care, saying casually, "Dr. Gao said he saw you walk around the water tank, so he had his doctor change the water. Brother Long was furious, so..."

Before Zhou Yi could finish speaking, Li Changlong interrupted her, "You shouldn't have stopped me back then. That guy is a bully who picks on the weak and fears the strong. If it weren't for Qi Qi saving him, he would have been crippled by Zhao Liuzhi and his gang long ago. He doesn't know what's good for him!"

Lu Qiqi was a little angry when she heard that the water in the water tank had been changed by Dr. Gao.

These people judged her with their petty minds, and she was even more heartbroken that a whole vat of spiritual spring water had been wasted.

But it was too late for Lu Qiqi to feel sorry for them now. She could only comfort Li Changlong and tell him not to be angry with them, as it wasn't worth it.

Seven days later, the first course of treatment ended.

Lu Qiqi and several doctors were already sitting in the ancestral hall early in the morning, taking pulses for the villagers.

"Next."

After bowing her head and calling out, Lu Qiqi began recording the medical records.

The villagers who had been sitting got up and left, and then another villager sat down in the chair.

Lu Qiqi put down her pen and looked up to see Tiger's mother sitting on a stool with a small, thin baby beside her.

"Sister Lu," Hu Zi called out softly.

Lu Qiqi felt a sweet warmth in her heart, but it was a pity she didn't have any candy in her hand, otherwise she would have given Tiger a piece of candy to make his mouth even sweeter.

After responding, Lu Qiqi began to take Tiger's mother's pulse.

Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes observation, auscultation, inquiry, and palpation.

Lu Qiqi observed that Hu Zi's mother's complexion was no longer as pale as it had been on her first day in Tianxin Village.

Although her complexion is still a bit pale, it is much better than before.

"Stick your tongue out."

Tiger's mother did as she was told.

After reviewing the medical record, Lu Qiqi withdrew her hand and, while writing the medical record, asked, "Is your sister-in-law feeling any better today? Do you still have symptoms of diarrhea and high fever?"

Tiger's mother thought for a moment and recalled carefully, "She also has a bit of diarrhea and has to go to the outhouse several times a day."

The ink spread across the white paper. "Is feces formed?"

Tiger's mother was stunned. She didn't know what "formed feces" meant, but after making the connection, it wasn't hard to understand.

Her cheeks flushed instantly, and she glanced around to make sure no one was watching her before whispering, "No one was watching, so it should be complete."

Having learned about the illness, Lu Qiqi continued writing, and then asked about Hu Zi's illness.
