Chapter 335 King of the Forest

Lu Qiqi walked towards the tiger, intending to put it into her spatial storage.

Before leaving this place, I plan to give it a bowl of hallucinogenic drugs so it can have a good sleep and stay here without following her.

But when she got close to it, the cowardly creature fled in terror, as if it had seen a tigress.

Lu Qiqi, “…”

You're supposed to be the king of the forest, so why don't you stand up for yourself?

With her plan failing, Lu Qiqi turned around and was about to walk back when she saw Wangcai carrying a gray rabbit in its mouth, walking towards her.

As Wangcai approached, Lu Qiqi discovered that Wangcai had not killed the rabbit.

Instead, it bit the rabbit's back, showing no intention of harming it whatsoever.

Lu Qiqi was overjoyed, confirming that Doctor Luo and the others had gone far away until they were out of sight.

Then he brought Wangcai and the rabbit into the space together.

Upon entering the space, Lu Qiqi immediately set aside a plot of land next to the chicken and duck enclosure, specifically for raising rabbits.

Wangcai put the rabbit down, wagged its tail, and walked to her side.

Lu Qiqi reached out and moved Wangcai's round head.

She smiled and praised Wangcai, "Good boy, you're rewarded with keeping watch outside tonight."

Wangcai seemed to understand and happily circled around Lu Qiqi.

Yesterday, Lu Qiqi told Wangcai to catch live animals and keep them in their space, so that when they came to the border, they wouldn't have to worry about not having meat to eat.

Today, Wangcai caught a gray rabbit.

Rabbits have a very strong reproductive capacity; a litter can produce five to eight offspring.

Moreover, rabbits have a breeding season of a whole year, which means that as long as you raise a few pairs of rabbits, you won't have to worry about eating rabbit meat in the border region in the future.

Lu Qiqi thought that life at the border wouldn't be too hard.

The chickens and ducks next to them were kept in separate pens. Lu Qiqi looked around and found that she did not find any chicken or duck eggs.

Considering that these chickens and ducks are not yet at the egg-laying stage, and perhaps they are not yet used to the sudden change in environment where day and night are indistinguishable.

"Gurgle."

My stomach is rumbling again.

Lu Qiqi didn't stay in the space any longer and returned to her lodgings with Wangcai.

When Li Changlong returned, he found that Lu Qiqi hadn't followed, and he remembered the tiger he had seen yesterday.

Fearing that Lu Qiqi might be in danger, they were about to lead their men back to look for her when they saw her return with Wangcai.

"Qiqi, are you alright? Why didn't you come back with us?"

Li Changlong's worried tone and expression made Lu Qiqi feel a little guilty. She said, "I just saw a gray rabbit and wanted to catch it, but I didn't expect it to get away."

"So that's what happened. They've run away, so let's go back and have some dinner."

Lu Qiqi nodded. "Wangcai, follow along."

After saying that, he followed Li Changlong back.

"It smells so good!"

A fragrance wafted into Lu Qiqi's respiratory tract, making her unable to help but exclaim in delight.

She walked up to the pot and saw a pot of pheasant stew with mushrooms.

The pheasant soup was bubbling and gurgling under the heat of the fire.

The soup began to boil, and Lu Qiqi's taste buds began to throb.

Li Changlong served her a bowl of chicken soup.

After thanking her, Lu Qiqi held the bowl with both hands and gently blew on it to cool the hot soup down.

After finishing the delicious soup, Lu Qiqi closed her eyes contentedly.

In the afternoon, Doctor Luo and Doctor Huang, along with the bodyguards, removed the excess roots of the Panax notoginseng.

Prepare to dry it over a fire in the evening.

The process of processing Panax notoginseng involves drying it under the scorching sun in June, which takes six or seven days to completely dry the whole plant.

They certainly cannot stay here for too long.

Therefore, the only option is to dry it with fire.

While Dr. Luo and the others were busy, Lu Qiqi was not idle either, taking Wangcai hunting.

Wangcai is quick to spot prey and soon spotted a silly roe deer in the distance.

Lu Qiqi squatted in the bushes, looking at the silly spores, and excitedly rubbed her little hands together.

Just as Wangcai was about to pounce on the silly roe deer, Lu Qiqi grabbed him by the throat.

Lu Qiqi grabbed its neck with her right hand, almost suffocating it.

She said, "The roe deer is taller than you, just pounce on it, but whatever you do, don't bite it."

Wangcai looked at Lu Qiqi with a slightly puzzled expression.

"Here's what we'll do: go and shoo the silly roe deer toward me so I can put it directly into my spatial storage."

Wangcai seemed to understand but not quite, and then rushed out of the bushes.

The silly roe deer is indeed silly; even when it senses danger, it still turns around to look at the predator.

It stood still for a moment, and by the time it realized what was happening, Wangcai was already chasing after it.

The silly roe deer kept lifting its legs high, running further and further away.

Lu Qiqi stayed where she was and waited.

After an incense stick had burned, she saw Wangcai looking dejected and returning empty-handed.

She took a few steps forward, reached out and touched Wangcai's fur, and was about to say, "It's not dark yet, there's still a chance."

Then she saw the male tiger, still harboring wicked intentions, carrying a silly spore in its mouth, walking heavily toward her.

The roe deer's neck was bitten off by the male tiger, and it hung in the tiger's mouth like a rag, swaying.

Wangcai returned dejectedly, having had his prey stolen by the male tiger.

Is this some kind of show-off?

Upon seeing the male tiger, Wangcai was on high alert and immediately stood guard in front of Lu Qiqi, shouting at the tiger.

"Awoo!"

The shout did not frighten the tiger away; instead, it made the tiger quicken its pace.

Lu Qiqi was not afraid at all. Since the male tiger had come on its own, she didn't need to bother feeding it hallucinogenic drugs.

The tiger put down the silly roe deer from its mouth and used its round head to push the roe deer towards her.
