Chapter 515 Spreading the Message

The following morning, An Jiu sent his Shadow Guards to the border city early in the morning to spread the news.

At that time, he and An Shi were sitting opposite each other in a private room in the teahouse.

Teahouses are places to relax and enjoy tea. When the young men of the border town have nothing to do, they will invite their classmates and friends from school to come and enjoy tea, write poems and make friends.

The border town was praised by the people of the Three Kingdoms period as Little Night City, and it was a gathering place for countless merchants.

Although the border town is now engulfed in war, it is the closest place to the sea, and most of the salt consumed by the people of the Great Jin Dynasty comes from the border town.

Therefore, many merchants still come to the border town to trade for high profits.

Nowadays, most teahouses cater to these two types of people.

An Jiu immediately chose the teahouse as the first place to spread the news of the incident at Wu Guangping's residence.

The two sat on either side of the window, conducting their business discreetly in the city. Naturally, they couldn't dress like the Shadow Guards and go to a teahouse for tea.

After all, that would attract too much attention.

An Shi waved his dark blue sleeves awkwardly, then looked up and saw An Jiu wearing the same clothes as him.

This was the first time he had seen An Jiu dressed so flamboyantly, and he couldn't help but burst out laughing.

As he expected, he was met with a glare.

Upon receiving the signal of An Jiu's displeasure, An Shi immediately fell silent, suppressing his laughter.

Just then, the music playing in the teahouse suddenly stopped.

A moment later, the sound of storytelling came from the teahouse.

An Shi was a little curious, so he walked to the door of the side room, pushed it open, and quickly walked up to the corridor on the second floor.

He leaned on the railing with both hands, looking quite relaxed.

He then looked down at the lobby on the first floor, where the middle-aged man who had been playing the erhu had already left.

An elderly man with a long beard was seated in the main hall, with a long table in front of him, looking quite imposing.

The storyteller was talking about how Consort Ning from General Wu's mansion absconded with money.

Although the storyteller did not name names, the numerous clues made it hard not to associate him with Wu Guangping.

Everyone has a sense of curiosity, especially when it comes to what happened in the inner courtyard of a general in a border town.

Therefore, the guests in the private rooms of the teahouse on the second floor pushed open their doors and went out into the corridor to eat melons.

Seeing that the corridor was crowded with people, An Shi retreated back into the private room to make room for the onlookers.

The storyteller recounted everything he knew and then withdrew on his own.

The teahouse's first-floor lobby and second-floor corridor were filled with onlookers, who began to discuss the story after the storyteller left.

"That old storyteller just now probably doesn't even care about his life anymore; every word he said was directed at General Wu."

Who is General Wu?

He was once General Feng's deputy general, following General Feng in battles and killing countless enemies.

"At this time of internal and external troubles, that storyteller just now dared to slander General Wu's private residence. Does he really think we're so easily fooled?"

These words caused a stir throughout the entire teahouse.

Many people applauded and cheered for the young man in white who had just spoken.

Even his colleagues started to chime in.

"Exactly! If it weren't for the fact that the storyteller is an old man, I would have taken him to the government office on the spot and accused him of slandering the general!"

The art style gradually changed.

This is not the result An Jiu wanted.

An Shi sensed something was wrong and quickly retreated, then returned to the long corridor.

He said loudly, "Fellow students, this is a critical time. It's best to keep this news to yourselves, lest it discourage the soldiers."

A young man in white robes bowed towards An Shi and said, "Thank you for the reminder, young master. My friend and I will certainly not say anything more."

An Shi recognized his voice; it was the man who had spoken up to defend Wu Guangping.

After he nodded to the man in white, the people in the corridor and the hall dispersed.

An Shi pushed open the door to the private room again and was met with An Jiu's extremely ugly face.

After closing the door to the private room, An Shi casually walked to the window, revealing an annoying smile. "Ninth Brother, I told you you chose the wrong place."

Tell me, where did you find that storyteller? How much silver did you give him?

An Jiu ignored his face, turned her head to the window, looked down at the passersby on the street, and said in a low voice, "I found him under the overpass in the west of the city. I gave him one tael of silver and asked him to do this."

Upon hearing this, An Shiyi looked at him with a pained expression and said excitedly, "Ninth Brother, it would be so great if you had this money for me! It would be enough for me to buy Nineteen lots of roast chicken!"

An Jiu ignored him, indifferently finished her tea, and said coldly, "Enough nonsense, tell me what your plan is?"

An Shi raised an eyebrow at him and said, "Come with me."

Fifteen minutes later, two men of identical build stood in an unnamed alley.

A dozen or so children stood in front of them, dressed in tattered clothes and with dirty faces, looking like disheveled kittens.

An Jiu stared at the dozen or so little beggars in front of him with a stern face. He had an unfriendly appearance, exuded a fierce aura, and had unhealed marks on his face.

Seeing him like this, the little beggars, though eager to see what he had, dared not touch it, let alone try to snatch it.

Dark Ten is the opposite of Dark Nine. He has a kind face and has been able to make a living by begging on the streets since he was a child.

Did you understand what I just said?

After finishing his instructions, An Shi looked at the dozen or so young boys and waited for their reply.
