Chapter 70 Ink Studio

Lu Qiqi was kicked out by the waiter and treated like a beggar. She didn't show it on her face, but her heart sank immediately.

Lu Qiqi said, "I'm not a beggar, I'm here to buy things!"

The waiter sneered disdainfully, looking at Lu Qiqi as if she were a pile of garbage, utterly disgusted.

The shopkeeper said, "You think you can buy anything from the Ink Studio dressed in these rags?! You couldn't afford it even if you were sold to a brothel! Get out of here and stop interfering with our business!"

No matter how well-mannered Lu Qiqi was, she was disgusted by this weasel-faced waiter. She said, "Call your manager out here. I want to see which waiter is so arrogant towards the customers!"

The shop assistant was surprised that Lu Qiqi dared to approach the shopkeeper. Didn't she realize that someone like her wouldn't have much money on her? The shop assistant said, "How many copper coins can you take out? The items in our ink shop are worth several taels of silver. With your poor fate, you wouldn't be able to afford them even in your next life!"

Lu Qiqi's perception of her was once again refreshed. She never thought that one day she would need to use a beautiful silk robe as an admission ticket. Lu Qiqi said, "You're just a laborer, but you really think you're someone important. Are you trying to pretend to be an elephant with a pig's nose stuck in it?"

The waiter was so angry at Lu Qiqi that he jumped up and down, wishing he could slap her a few times. He rushed forward and reached out to grab Lu Qiqi's hair.

Lu Qiqi was not about to let him get close. She nimbly dodged and stood behind the waiter.

The waiter missed and lost his balance. Lu Qiqi kicked him in the stomach.

The waiter was then kicked into the ink room by Lu Qiqi, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain.

Hearing the commotion at the door, the shopkeeper immediately bowed to the customer, apologized, and went outside.

Lu Qiqi coldly watched the arrogant waiter who had been so haughty earlier now rolling on the ground, and said, "Serves you right! You looked down on people like that. Today, I'll teach you how to turn over a new leaf and become a better person!"

"Who dares to cause trouble at the Ink Studio?!"

Lu Qiqi looked over at the sound and saw a middle-aged man dressed in a black robe stride out, followed by two young men dressed as waiters.

Lu Qiqi asked, "Are you the shopkeeper?"

"Exactly!" The shopkeeper, without asking why, protectively asked, "Why did the young lady injure my tools?"

Upon hearing that the other party was the shopkeeper, Lu Qiqi said, "Your shopkeeper judges people by their appearance. I came to your shop to buy writing brushes, ink, paper, and inkstones, but he treated me like a beggar, spoke rudely to me, and even tried to assault a woman. Is this how you treat your shopkeeper?"

Lu Qiqi spoke with a strong and clear voice, which attracted a lot of onlookers, including Manager Zheng, who had commissioned Lu Qiqi to make porcelain.

After being apologized to by the owner of Mozhai, Manager Zheng asked his assistant to get him a piece of fragrant ink. Just after paying, he heard Lu Qiqi's words at the door.

Manager Zheng stepped forward and said, "Manager Qian, I never expected your Ink Studio to be so opportunistic. It's an insult to our culture."

When Manager Qian saw that it was Manager Zheng who spoke, his face immediately darkened. Manager Zheng was a big customer of their shop, and if they offended him, they would lose a lot of business in the future.

Manager Qian wished he could kill the clueless shop assistant on the ground right then and there and kick Lu Qiqi out.

But he couldn't do that right now. Manager Qian smiled apologetically and said, "I'm really sorry, miss. This waiter is new and doesn't know any better. I hope you can forgive him and not bother with such a worthless person. I'll have him apologize to you right away."

"Get up and apologize!" Manager Qian turned his face, his expression immediately becoming stern, as if he wanted to scare the shopkeeper on the ground to death with his Bao Gong-like face.

Startled by Manager Qian's shout, the waiter quickly got up, knelt on the ground, and bowed his head, saying, "I was blind and did not recognize your greatness. I have offended you, Miss. Please forgive me."

Lu Qiqi coldly stared at the waiter on the ground, who was bowing his head and apologizing. She remained unmoved. If she hadn't met him today, she didn't know how many people would have been humiliated like this.

Lu Qiqi didn't believe this was the first time one of the shop's employees had done something like this, and that the shopkeeper was completely unaware of it.

Lu Qiqi turned to Manager Zheng and asked, "Manager Zheng, are there any other ink shops around here?"

After thinking for a moment, Manager Zheng said, "Yes, there is a fine ink shop in the east of the city. Their products are famous throughout Luzhou Prefecture."

“Naturally, things won’t be cheap.”

Shopkeeper Qian carefully observed Lu Qiqi's unchanging expression. Seeing that Lu Qiqi was dressed in coarse linen clothes, as if she had just finished farm work and was heading to the market, he sneered inwardly, 'Just a pretentious fool. Once he's appeased Shopkeeper Zheng and sent her away, he'll teach her a lesson.'

Manager Zheng chuckled as he spoke, saying, "But Miss Lu, you're not short of money. You ordered a batch of porcelain, and you smashed it at the slightest dissatisfaction. It pained me to see that."

"If you want to go, I can even give you directions."

Lu Qiqi glanced at the innkeeper and the shop assistant on the ground, their expressions constantly changing, and felt extremely satisfied. She said, "Then I'll trouble Manager Zheng to give me directions."

Manager Zheng waved his hand and said, "No problem, no problem."

After saying that, he was about to lead Lu Qiqi out of the ink study.

The people who had been watching the show outside the ink studio dispersed when they saw that the main characters had left.

The shopkeeper and the arrogant waiter were left standing there, stunned and unable to react to how things had turned out this way.

It wasn't until Lu Qiqi and Manager Zheng had walked far away and their figures had disappeared from sight that Manager Qian realized what had happened.

When Manager Qian thought of what Manager Zheng said about Lu Qiqi, who would smash porcelain she ordered from his shop if it didn't meet her expectations, it was clear that she was someone who didn't lack money.

It should be noted that although Manager Zheng ordered a lot of goods from his shop, most of them were paints for drawing on porcelain.

People who can afford to buy things at Mozhai in Dongcheng wouldn't be short of a little money to buy things at his shop.

When Manager Qian saw the duck that was about to be eaten fly away, he was furious and kicked the shop assistant to the ground.

"You blind fool, you don't need to come to work anymore."

The waiter was kicked to the ground by Manager Qian, and his shoulder burned with pain.

Upon hearing that he had been fired, the shop assistant lying on the ground turned pale and dared not cry out in pain. He had worked at Mozhai for many years and knew how ruthless Manager Qian was, so he dared not defend himself.

A young man shed a few tears after being kicked twice the day before.

I don't know if she cried from being kicked or from being fired. You know, a job like this at the ink shop is a good one, and the monthly salary is quite good. I don't know how many people would be vying for it.

Now, not only is he kicked so hard he can't get up, but he's also been fired by Manager Qian. The shopkeeper is now regretting why he didn't treat Lu Qiqi more politely.

But he soon came to hate Lu Qiqi. If she hadn't been wearing tattered clothes, she wouldn't have been kicked out as a beggar.

Manager Qian is no good either!

You should know that in the past, many refugees came to Mozhai to beg for food, and Manager Qian even ordered them to chase them away with brooms. Otherwise, he would not have treated Lu Qiqi as a beggar and kicked her out of Mozhai.
