Chapter 1 Prologue: Main Background (Note: There will be comments...)

Chapter 1 Prologue: Main Background (Note: There will be comments...)

It mainly introduces some background settings, which may be a bit boring. It's something you can watch if you want, but you can just skim through it (the first half is the most important part).

I. General Historical Background

The existence of Luomanjier is difficult to verify, and it is a question that even the gods cannot answer. So let's start with the recorded history of Luomanjier, which can be divided into two parts: the first half is the era of gods, and the second half is the era of atheists (not that there are no gods, but that the influence of the gods is not as great as before). The era of gods has become a thing of the past, and the era of atheists is underway.

The Chronicles of Gods begin with the formation of the world and are divided into five stages: the Age of the Birth of Gods, the Age of the Decline of Gods, the Age of Pantheism (the Age of the Slaughter of Gods), the Day of the Silence of Gods, and the Age of the Fall of Gods.

The Chronicles of the Birth of Gods, as the name suggests, refers to the birth of gods born from the world. These gods are the embodiment of the purest power and rules, possessing the most complete divine personality. They wield different powers and are extremely powerful. They lack empathy, cannot distinguish between good and evil, and act only according to their instincts, leaving the world in chaos and disorder.

As time passed, in addition to the innate gods, strange beasts with different powers appeared on the continent of Luomanjier. Their strength was not as great as that of the innate gods; they were merely pure beasts. The innate gods simply watched coldly from a high place. With the evolution of time, the strange beasts gained a certain level of intelligence and began to fight. The continent fell into a long period of chaos. Strange beasts were born and died in the fighting. There was not a single piece of land that had not been soaked in blood.

In such a chaotic era, humanity was born. How did they come into being? No one can say for sure, just as no one can say how gods were born or how strange beasts appeared on the continent. Humans were physically weak, possessing no special powers, too frail to fight against any other creature. Perhaps the only redeeming quality of humanity was their intellect. In this chaotic world, they struggled to survive, seeking barely safe havens, creating weapons for self-defense, and fire to ward off wild beasts…

During this uneventful period, the Age of Divine Decline arrived unexpectedly. Many naturally born gods found their power weakening and eventually returned to their original state. The same was true for strange beasts; their breeding became difficult, and large numbers of strange beasts disappeared from the continent.

Survival is the instinct of every living being. When the first innate god discovered that gaining human faith could reduce the loss of their power, it marked the beginning of both disaster and opportunity for humanity. From oppression by brute force to offering a little sweetness (the birth of magicians and swordsmen), the situation of the innate gods was able to stabilize barely.

The beasts chose to cease fighting and each lived in their own corner, gradually evolving into various different species, such as dragons, elves, and mermaids.

With the help of the gods and the rest and recuperation of the mythical beasts, humanity entered a period of unstable development. The existence of innate gods led humanity to desperately strive to become those favored by the gods. Once they gained the favor of the gods, humanity might possess endless life, immense power, and countless riches...

This abnormal period of time lasted for an unknown amount of time. The Pantheon, or the Age of Godslaying, began, and humanity waged war against their gods. No one understood how this happened. Perhaps the inevitable event was destined the moment the gods stepped down from their altars. There will never be a shortage of greedy people among humanity, nor a shortage of madmen.

With the fall of the first naturally born god, the myth of the invincibility of gods was shattered. And with the first human devouring the flesh and blood of a god to gain divine power, he became a god after birth.

Thus began the true slaughter of gods. It was a chaotic, insane, and disorderly era. Humans fought relentlessly to become gods, their divine status shattered, they devoured flesh and blood, and fought for the rules... They went mad, the world went mad, and humanity went mad too. Mad blood gave birth to mad creatures, and monsters appeared, but this only added fuel to the fire of chaos, making the chaos even more chaotic.

All of this came to an end with the arrival of the Day of Divine Silence, an ordinary day when everything fell silent. Humans could no longer touch the authority of the gods, and the gods could no longer harm humans without restraint. Humans and gods existed in two different spaces, connected but unable to descend in their true forms.

After the day of divine silence, the Age of Divine Fall began, an era in which few humans knew the truth. The only thing humans knew was that many, many gods had fallen, and panic spread across the continent. Just then, something even more terrifying happened: the number of demons increased and they became stronger, to the point that humanity could no longer fight them.

The gods stepped forward. Even though their numbers had dwindled, protecting humanity on the continent was still no problem. They could not descend in their true forms, but they could use human bodies to perform divine descents or bestow powerful strength upon humans. Temples were established, missionary work began, and the war for faith began. Countless grudges and affections arose during this time. The gods were not truly without desires; they had different races and favored humans.

This can be described as a honeymoon period between the gods and humanity, during which humanity was able to develop relatively stably, and various aspects such as power systems, economic systems, cultural systems, and living systems began to take shape.

During this period, gods continued to fall one after another, and humanity could not know what had happened among them. When everything finally settled, only twelve gods remained.

God of the sky, ruler of light and darkness, guardian of royal power;

The Earth Mother Goddess controls nature and reproduction, and the food harvest, which is of utmost concern to humankind, is also related to her;

The sea god is the master of the sea and the deity worshipped by all sea creatures.

Dionysus, the god of revelry and pleasure, the patron saint of the nobility.

The god of commerce wields power over contracts and fairness.

The god of war; war and duels are generally worshipped and believed in.

The god of law holds the power of justice and order;

The god of forging is worshipped by both high-level magical blacksmiths and simple human blacksmiths.

The god of death holds the power of death and disaster. Wherever he goes, death and disaster often follow. Most of the people who believe in him pray for peace.

The god of lies holds the power over fraud and theft, and is the protector of thieves and swindlers.

The god of art, music and painting, everything related to art is within His authority, and He is the god that all artists flock to.

The god of love, marriage, and romance, is rumored to be the weakest of the twelve gods.

...

With the help of these twelve gods and the efforts of humankind, most of the demons were sealed and imprisoned. Humans discovered that the connection between gods and humans began to weaken. Miracles still occurred, but they were significantly fewer than before.

In fact, this was already the latter half of history. The atheistic era and the peace and tranquility of the world further promoted the development of civilization. The prototypes of various systems were perfected, and mankind truly entered a period of "stable" development.

(There's more to come, but I'll skip the spoilers if I go into too much detail. The preceding part is actually quite important, as it contains some hidden information.)

For the humans on the continent of Luomanjier, the true beginning of history began after the day of the gods' silence. How could the gods be willing to let humans know that humans can become gods?

………………

Second, the main races on the continent are: humans, demons, elves, dragons, mermaids, orcs, dwarves, goblins, and monsters.

As for lifespan, humans live for a maximum of five or six hundred years, while demons, elves, and dragons are long-lived species and can live for thousands of years. Orcs live for two or three hundred years, dwarves for about a hundred years, and goblins for a maximum of a few decades.

Regarding class issues, the development process of the continent was not much different from that of medieval Europe. Gods were the highest class, and then each race had its own class divisions.

Among humanity, the ruling class consists of monarchs and nobles. There is also a special class: mages and swordsmen. Both professions depend on one's aptitude, specifically the level of magical talent awakened. Those with high talent have a high affinity for magical elements and can become mages; those with low talent have low affinity for magical elements and can only become swordsmen.

However, this is not the whole story. Here we must mention a sacred and special profession – knights. They are usually associated with royal courts or temples. Ordinary knights are mostly composed of mages and swordsmen, while the most elite knights are called paladins. Most of them have a high affinity for magical elements. After special training and cultivation, they can use magic and have a body as strong as a swordsman.

Generally speaking, the bloodlines of monarchs and nobles are more likely to have magical talent and a higher affinity for magical elements. Although there are commoner mages and swordsmen, very few can rise to prominence because they need resources to grow stronger. Therefore, many mages and swordsmen are trained and sponsored by nobles, and naturally, they have to obey the nobles who sponsor them to a certain extent.

Other races are different; they are basically born mages or warriors, with only differences in strength. Unlike humans, they do not experience the inability to awaken magical talent.

Monster introduction,

Monsters do not belong to any kind of intelligent life. They have no intelligence and no unified form. They are simply composed of various desires and negative emotions, including pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust; sadness, fear, disgust, sorrow, worry, etc. In fact, they are creatures formed from all kinds of bad emotions.

However, these creatures have a peculiar characteristic: they contain extremely pure magic crystals within their bodies, which can help magicians replenish their magic power. They are excellent materials for alchemy and are highly compatible with various materials.

(Other races are mostly based on common settings, so I won't go into too much detail. I will describe them in more detail when I write about them.)

………………

Third, the main powers on the continent are: the Human Kingdom, the Demon Abyss, the Elf Forest, Dragon Island, the Mermaid Sea, the Orc Plains, the Dwarf Dunes, and the Underground Goblins.

Human Kingdoms: There are many kingdoms on the continent of Luomanjier, but the four most important are...

The Sinclair Empire, whose entire nation is almost entirely devoted to the God of the Sky, has unspeakable rumors that every monarch of the empire has an inexplicable relationship with the God of the Sky.

The Leroy Empire, a gathering place for powerful adventurers, has a diverse range of human beliefs. If one were to pinpoint the most important one, it would probably be war.

There is also a country with a thriving literary tradition, producing countless scholars, and boasting the most magicians. It is a holy land that countless magicians yearn for. This country does not worship any particular god, but rather knowledge.

There is also a very special empire, the Campbell Empire, which is primarily commercial. It neither offends nor allies with any country. It is obviously devoted to the god of commerce, but also secretly devoted to the god of lies.

(Other races, who are generally considered united and not divided, will not be discussed in detail.)

Fifth, regional settings... Let's do it according to development (wiping cold sweat.jpg)

A note from the author:

----------------------

Note 1: I've always written romance novels before. This is my first time writing a new genre, so my writing style is just so-so. If you don't like it, just run away. I only started writing because I like this genre, so it might be written according to my own ideas. I'm a bit clumsy, so feel free to ask questions in the comments section. I'll try my best to revise it, and if there aren't any major issues, I'll continue writing it according to my own ideas. (Don't expect too much from my writing style; it's just a beginner's story [hands clasped in prayer])

Note 2: Some parts are personal interpretations; just take a look.

Chapter 3: In the early stages, the protagonist will be rather passive and go with the flow. It is only after about twenty chapters that he will really get motivated and start working.

Note 4: I've seen many comments questioning the protagonist's character design. Actually, the current character design is different from the initial one. Initially, he was gentle and refined, but the protagonist's attitude towards those close to him differs from that towards others, hence the addition of "ruthless." If necessary, I'll revert to the original description. It feels like no matter how you summarize the character design, it's not quite right. The protagonist's personality isn't just one-dimensional; human nature is multifaceted. The annotations are for reference only.

Note 5: Some readers may have questions about the protagonist's behavior in Chapter 3 (to summarize, the uke drugged the protagonist, the protagonist said he wanted to take responsibility for the uke, and felt he wasn't good enough for the uke). The reason for his behavior here is simple. I feel that no matter how I explain it, some readers will still find it strange, so I'll just give away a spoiler here: because the protagonist isn't human, and he was educated in a normal society, he tends to stereotype himself. Yes, that's right, he was drugged with Arip, but whether it was an accident or not, they had sex, which is the reason for taking responsibility. You can also see it as his subconscious reaction when he was confused. It's ingrained in him, like a robot with a pre-programmed script. If you can't accept this, just leave now. Don't be skeptical.

The unexpected event here is a crucial foreshadowing; it's something destined to happen, manipulated by "fate," and it can only occur between the two main characters.

——

If you have any questions in the comments section later, and I see that they are mostly questions from you, I'll explain them here in Chapter 1. [Lop-eared rabbit head][Lop-eared rabbit head]
