Chapter 140 Declaring Sovereignty at the Doorstep

Qingyue, who hadn't eaten breakfast, was drawn by the aroma of meat and immediately went to the grill to watch Jiang Hua grill the meat.

All that was left was Qingling and Baiheng staring at each other.

"Don't you Gu Sect members rarely leave the mountains?"

"Has the imperial court become so idle now that it's meddling in the affairs of the Gu Sect?" Qingling glanced at Bai Heng indifferently, then walked to the table and chairs that had been set up and sat down.

Seeing Qingling's attitude, Bai Heng wasn't annoyed. People from the Gu Sect and the Poison Sect generally had this attitude; one played with poison and the other with Gu. They had every right to be arrogant.

However, Bai Heng secretly kept a watchful eye on the emergence of the Gu Sect this time. The appearance of these two sisters also meant that the Poison Sect had also emerged.

Jiang Hua grilled a few skewers herself and then handed them over to Shuanghua, Songzi, and the others, while she gave instructions from the side. Seeing how fun it was, Qingyue was also eager to try.

The oven is only so big, and after a few people stood there, there was no room left, so we had to give up.

"Give it a try." Jiang Hua took the grilled skewers from the plate and walked towards Bai Heng, who was waiting nearby, while also gesturing for the twin sisters to eat together.

Qingyue, always carefree, didn't stand on ceremony when Jiang Hua extended the invitation. She picked up two skewers of meat, gave one to Qingling, and then ate it heartily herself.

"Are you planning to sell this at your new shop?" Bai Heng slowly ate the meat skewers in his hand. It was quite a unique way of eating; he had never seen it before.

"Yes, it's very easy to do. Just grill the meat and sprinkle it with the secret seasoning."

Jiang Hua nodded, and in just a short while, Qing Yue devoured all the skewers on the plate.

Qingling looked at her younger sister speechlessly. They were born of the same mother, so why were they so different?

"Can we stay at your house permanently?" Qingyue put down the skewer in her hand and looked at Jiang Hua with lingering hesitation.

"What good would it do me to let you stay here?" Jiang Hua raised an eyebrow and looked at the two of them.

The night the system detached from her, she saw the plot of the book: the two most outstanding sisters of the Gu Sect would take a liking to the gifted Lin Shuyan and compete to take her as their disciple.

“We can help you kill someone,” Qingyue blurted out.

"Ahem!" Qingling coughed lightly, glanced at Qingyue, but ultimately said nothing.

"Sure, but you'll have to pay for household expenses if you stay."

Bai Heng immediately agreed to the deal. He glanced at Jiang Hua with some surprise. Wasn't she worried about keeping these two people around?

Having received permission, Qingyue immediately ran to the barbecue grill, pushed aside the frost flowers, and started grilling herself.

Halfway through the meal, Granny Luo came over with a somewhat unpleasant expression.

"What's wrong?"

"Miss, Lin Shuyan is here. She says she wants to see you," Granny Luo said softly as she moved closer.

"I won't see you," Jiang Hua replied directly.

Granny Luo quickly agreed and went to reply, but soon returned in a hurry.

"Girl, she said she absolutely has to see you, or she won't leave."

"Then let her wait." Jiang Hua took a sip of the fruit wine that Dong Ling had offered; it was indeed excellent, made in her space.

The barbecue didn't end until the afternoon. It was getting late, and Bai Heng had other business to attend to at the yamen, so he left first.

"Jiang Hua, you're having an affair at home, that's why you're ignoring me!"

Jiang Hua had just seen Bai Heng to the door when she heard Lin Shuyan's furious voice. She really hadn't left, still sitting on the steps of her house.

"Why should I pay attention to you!" Jiang Hua sneered.

The carriage to pick up Bai Heng had arrived. After seeing Bai Heng off, Jiang Hua finally took a proper look at Lin Shuyan.

"You're a thief! You stole what belongs to me! You just wait! Brother Xuan is mine, and I won't let you take him away!"

"I am the true female lead of this world!"

So that's how it is.

At first, Jiang Hua was a little confused by Lin Shuyan's words, but after she said her last sentence, she understood everything. The damn system had returned to Lin Shuyan. It was like finding a needle in a haystack.

"And then?" Jiang Hua smiled calmly, waiting for her to continue.

"You know about the system, right?"

Jiang Hua nodded slightly, watching her face gradually contort, revealing malice, a far cry from her usual pitiful appearance.

“From today onwards, I will take back what is rightfully mine, bit by bit. Jiang Xingzhou and Jiang Jingyi are both for my use. If it weren’t for your appearance, would all of this have changed?” Lin Shuyan was filled with resentment. What belonged to her, no one could touch.

"Damn system told you that?" Jiang Hua's sarcasm was undisguised. This is supposed to be the female lead?

Jiang Hua already harbored murderous intent towards the person in front of her, including the system within her. In the ending of the book, her pitiful A Yi became a stepping stone for her and Zhou Yingxuan to rise to power.

"This has nothing to do with you!" Lin Shuyan stared at Jiang Hua with venomous eyes.

"Tsk tsk, where did this vicious woman come from?"

Just as Qingyue was about to ask Jiang Hua how to grill eggplant, she saw Lin Shuyan with a distorted expression as soon as she stepped out, and pretended to be startled in an exaggerated way.

"What's wrong?" Qingling also came out.

Lin Shuyan, seeing the two identical faces, quickly suppressed the hatred on her face and looked at them with the demeanor of a well-behaved young lady:

"You must be the renowned Qingling and Qingyue of the Gu Sect?"

Lin Shuyan remembered what the system had told her last night: the people from the Gu Sect and the Poison Sect would be vying to take her as their disciple because of her extraordinary talent.

Just as Qingyue was about to marvel at how quickly Lin Shuyan's expression changed, a murderous intent flashed in her eyes upon hearing Lin Shuyan's words, and Qingling beside her was no exception.

"Who told you who we are?" Qingyue narrowed her eyes, her tone turning cold.

“I dreamt about it, and now I’ve come to you myself. I’m willing to become your apprentice and learn Gu from you.” Lin Shuyan seemed oblivious to Qingyue’s cold expression as she stepped forward with an air of superiority, her tone full of condescension.

Jiang Hua took a step back without making a sound. Without the halo of the female lead, she was indeed nothing.

The little white snake said that after the system was weakened, Lin Shuyan's protagonist aura in this world gradually faded.

"No, are you sick in the head?" Qingyue, being straightforward, looked at Lin Shuyan with confusion.

"Who gave you the audacity to say that here? Who wants to take you as an apprentice? Who do you think you are?"

She was still eagerly waiting to eat her roasted eggplant, so where did this weirdo come from?

"No, didn't you take a liking to me at first sight and want to take me as your apprentice?" Lin Shuyan was dumbfounded.

Lin Shuyan's words made Lian Jianghua burst out laughing. Could she be any more direct?
