Chapter 177 Arresting People

Seeing that he had achieved his goal, the pharmacy manager then said, "Her sister knows martial arts; none of our pharmacy's thugs can defeat her."

Magistrate Lin dismissed the matter, saying, "The thugs at your pharmacy are nothing but ugly bastards."

"My lord, after you get my sister, will you abandon me?" Qingyue asked with a slight frown and some sadness.

"How could that be? I just like it when you're like this." With that, Governor Su gently pinched Qingyue's slender waist. "However, you'd better serve me well tonight and let me see if you have the ability to keep me here."

"That's a must, Lord Su." Qingyue subtly removed Governor Su's hand, secretly gritting her teeth as she spoke, while inwardly cursing the Su family's ancestors for eighteen generations.

Seeing the "intimacy" between Governor Su and Qingyue, Magistrate Lin felt a surge of desire and wished he could immediately grab her sister and enjoy her.

"Lord Su has been so good to me, I can't keep it from him anymore," Qingyue said with a sigh, which caught the attention of Governor Su.

"Oh?" Governor Su looked at Qingyue with some curiosity.

“We sisters aren’t even the most beautiful. We’re just servants to our young lady. She’s the most stunning beauty in the world. We sisters are no match for her,” Qingyue said with a look of frustration.

"Is that so?" Governor Su became interested.

“Yes, yes, how could I dare to lie to Governor Su? If Governor Su wants to see, I can draw a picture of the young lady’s appearance.” Qingyue immediately said, “If it weren’t for her and my sister constantly beating and scolding me, I would never have done such a thing.”

Governor Su was already captivated by the stunning beauty Qingyue described, and disregarding what she said next, he hurriedly ordered someone to bring paper and pen so that Qingyue could draw it on the spot.

"You old lecher!" Qingyue cursed inwardly.

After the pharmacy manager left, Qingyue began to paint, silently repeating to herself, "Sister Jiang, I'm so sorry!" as she painted smoothly.

Just as they were about to wrap things up, the madam of Yingchun Pavilion strode in, looking at the two of them with icy eyes.

“Governor Su and Prefect Lin are truly enjoying their leisure time drinking and painting here, surrounded by beautiful women. If it weren’t for the people of Plum Blossom Island protecting your Yangcheng, you probably wouldn’t be so relaxed today.”

Despite hearing the madam's words, Qingyue continued painting as if nothing had happened, until she heard Governor Su's words.

"Did you hear anything, little beauty?"

"Lord Su, I was painting for you and didn't hear anything." Qingyue didn't even raise her head.

Seeing that Qingyue was a capable person, Governor Su nodded in satisfaction before turning to the madam.

"Why is Hua Niang so angry?" Magistrate Lin quickly comforted her, and told the servants serving nearby to pour tea.

"I won't drink the tea. You two must give me an explanation today: why did you go back on your word and secretly take the woman who was sent here?"

"So that's what it is. I thought it was something serious. It's just a woman who's gone. There are plenty of women like that at Yingchun Pavilion, aren't there?" Governor Su didn't take it seriously, after all, no one dared to cause trouble in Yangcheng.

"Perhaps some new recruit who didn't know the rules messed things up and got himself killed, so they were taken out and buried."

Hearing Governor Su mention the new recruits, Hua Niang felt slightly relieved. Thinking back to the unfamiliar faces from last night, she realized that this made sense; only the naval camp and the prefect's mansion could have gone to Yingchun Tower.

“Since Governor Su has said so, I will not pursue the matter of last night. It’s almost the fifteenth, it’s time to send a batch of girls to our master.” Hua Niang said in a deep voice, but her eyes fell on Qingyue, who was painting.

"I just heard that she has an older sister who looks exactly like her, and a stunningly beautiful woman. Send all three of them over this month. I'll go back and write back to our master right now." Hua Niang's tone left no room for negotiation. After saying this, she turned and left.

With a loud "smash!", Governor Su picked up the cup on the table and smashed it hard on the ground.

"She's just a brothel madam, why is she putting on airs in front of me?"

"Brother Su, please calm down. As long as Yingxuan hasn't become emperor, we'll still have to rely on these people," Prefect Lin reassured him.

"My lord, please don't be angry." Qingyue handed another cup of tea to Governor Su with care: "My heart still belongs to you."

"Is it really true?" Governor Su grabbed Qingyue's chin and asked sternly.

"Of course! My lord, you've hurt me," Qingyue said, her eyes red.

"Don't worry, it doesn't hurt now. It will really hurt tonight." Governor Su released his hand from Qingyue's chin and instead stroked her face, chuckling softly.

"Brother Su, don't forget that she is also to be offered to the head of the household," Magistrate Lin said, his heart tightening.

"Don't worry, Brother Lin, I know what I'm doing," Governor Su said coldly, looking displeased in the direction Hua Niang had left.

Neither of them noticed Qingyue's cold expression; they were only focused on having Qingling and Jiang Hua brought over, since the fifteenth would be in two days.

In the small courtyard by the sea, Jiang Hua had changed out of her men's clothing and removed the human skin mask from her face. The girl she had rescued had already been taken away by the man.

The little white snake wandered around the entire Yingchun Pavilion without finding anything unusual, but the madam of Yingchun Pavilion caught Jiang Hua's attention.

It was only a short time after dawn when there was a loud knocking on the courtyard door. Jiang Hua went to open it and found Yang Hai standing there, looking anxious and panting as he leaned against the doorframe.

"What's wrong?"

“Miss Jiang, Xiao Tao has been taken away by the Prefect’s men. I’m here to tell you to run quickly. I saw your portrait in their hands, and they’re going to arrest you too.”

"It's too late to escape now." Jiang Hua's eyes fell on the soldiers who were menacingly walking towards her courtyard.

Yang Hai had a bad feeling. He turned around and saw that it was indeed the same group of soldiers from before.

"What's going on here? It's so noisy, can't a person get any rest?" Qingling walked out of the courtyard with a displeased look on her face.

"Everyone's here now, take those two away from me."

The leading officer glanced at the portrait in his hand, then looked at Jiang Hua and nodded in satisfaction.

"What are you doing? Is there no law anymore? Why are you arresting people like this?" Jiang Hua looked at Yang Tao, who was tied up behind them.

"Ha, the law? Our prefect is the law of Yangcheng!" the soldier scoffed.

"If you two obediently come back with us, you'll suffer less. Otherwise, don't blame us for being impolite."

As soon as the lead soldier finished speaking, another soldier behind him had already prepared a rope.
