Chapter 25 Danger Encounters on the Mountain

However, some people buy chicken feet to take home as a snack with drinks.

......

At Guangfulou, it was a quiet time when a waiter came running in happily with something wrapped in oil paper.

"I got it! I got it today!"

"What did you buy?" Liu Tianming came out from behind the counter.

The waiter also unwrapped the oil paper, revealing braised pork offal and salt-baked chicken feet inside. Liu Tianming looked at the braised pork offal in the oil paper and suddenly felt that it looked somewhat familiar.

Isn't this a dish they had for dinner last night? Mom said it was brought over by Er Ya.

Several waiters in the restaurant fed it to him, and after each of them had one of the two pounds of chicken feet, there was only one left.

"What are you all doing huddled together? Don't you have any work to do?" came the voice of Ye Chenggui, the manager of Guangfulou Restaurant, from the corridor.

"Boss, come and try this! This is a dish that's only available at the market these past few days, and it's even better than the snacks we have at our restaurant," one of the waiters said while gnawing on a salt-baked chicken foot.

Ye Guicheng followed the waiter's gaze and saw only a few pieces of braised pig offal and a lone chicken foot left on the table. He scoffed disdainfully.

"These lowly things, do they even deserve to be eaten by me?"

"Shopkeeper, the taste is really good, these chicken feet are fresh and flavorful." Liu Tianming chimed in from the side.

Ye Guicheng rarely glanced at the honest Liu Tianming he had invited back, a man who usually never said a word to him.

"In that case, I'd like to see just how delicious it is!"

Ye Guicheng put away his folding fan and strode over. The waiter next to him immediately wiped his hands clean and handed him a pair of chopsticks.

When he picked up a piece of braised pork offal from the oiled paper and put it in his mouth, he was surprised by its taste. Then he picked up a piece of pork intestine and his eyes lit up.

This restaurant has made pig intestines before, but no matter how it's prepared, it always has a certain smell. The one we're eating now, however, doesn't have any strange smell at all.

He quickly picked up the last salt-baked chicken foot and started gnawing on it. His eyes lit up. Liu Tianming hadn't lied to him. After finishing the chicken foot, he was still a little unsatisfied.

"Why did you only buy so little?" Ye Guicheng said, somewhat displeased.

"Shopkeeper, I'm late, there's only a little left," the waiter said, scratching his head sheepishly.

"I'll go check again tomorrow. If possible, invite her to 'sit down' at Guangfulou," Ye Guicheng said, putting down his chopsticks.

Liu Tianming's heart skipped a beat. He had been working at Guangfulou for two years and knew his manager well.

The person who was invited to the restaurant last time also ran a food business, but he has now disappeared from Qingshi Town.

Jiang Hua went to the butcher to buy offal as usual, and with the extra she asked the butcher to keep, she got a total of four sets of offal, but she couldn't buy any chicken feet.

However, four sets of pig offal were enough. After the three of them returned home, it was still early, so Jiang Hua took Jiang Jingyi and the salt-baked chicken feet that had been left out in the morning to Aunt Liu's house.

"Auntie, are you home?" Jiang Hua called out from outside the yard.

Hearing the noise, Aunt Liu, who was inside the house, quickly came out.

"Huahua, you're here." Aunt Liu quickly greeted Jiang Hua and the others.

“Call someone, Grandma Liu,” Jiang Hua said to Jiang Jingyi.

"Grandma Liu," Jiang Jingyi called out in a clear voice.

"What is this?" Aunt Liu responded and looked at Jiang Hua. After that, Xiao Jiang rarely appeared in front of them, let alone this child.

“Jiang Jingyi,” Jiang Hua replied.

Jiang Hua followed Aunt Liu into the inner room and sat down. On the bed in the inner room, there were fabrics and a garment that was still being sewn.

"Is Auntie making clothes for Brother Tianming?" Jiang Hua asked casually.

"That's right. After finishing the work in the fields, I make a couple of pieces whenever I have time. Ready-made clothes sold outside aren't cheap either," Aunt Liu said.

"Oh, right, Auntie, this is some new food I made. I brought it over especially for you to try. It's all very inexpensive," Jiang Hua said, opening the lid of the dish on the basket.

"Really, you could have just taken it to buy something else. Why bring it back? I haven't even taken the dishes from yesterday back to you yet," Aunt Liu said hurriedly.

"Auntie, please accept this," Jiang Hua said, pushing the basket in front of Aunt Liu.

"Alright, I'll accept it this time. But don't send it over again next time. It wouldn't be good if your parents and Madam Xu saw it." Aunt Liu thought of Madam Xu's face from yesterday.

"By the way, I just passed by their yard, it was all quiet, did they all go out?"

"Yes, they all went to town to pick up Yaozu, but isn't Shuyan at home?" Aunt Liu replied, then added, "But Huahua, you should keep an eye on your cousin."

"Don't blame me for being nosy, but the way she looked at Xiao Jiang yesterday was unusual!"

ha?

“Auntie, my cousin likes Zhou Yingxuan, not Jiang Xingzhou,” Jiang Hua said.

"Oh, I see. Then you must be overthinking it, Aunt Liu." Aunt Liu nodded.

After sitting at Aunt Liu's house for a while, Jiang Hua took Jiang Jingyi home.

The courtyard and the inner rooms were empty. Jiang Hua went to check the kitchen, but there was still no one there.

“Stepmother, Father should have gone to Black Wind Mountain,” Jiang Jingyi said.

Oh no! Jiang Hua's heart sank. She was worried about leaving Jiang Jingyi alone at home, but taking him with her to Black Wind Mountain would be dangerous.

"Ayi, you go stay at Aunt Liu's house first. I'm going to Black Wind Mountain to find your father," Jiang Hua said to Jiang Jingyi.

"Yes, stepmother."

On her way to Aunt Liu's house, Jiang Hua quickened her pace.

"Huahua, why are you back again?" Aunt Liu asked, looking at the two who had returned.

"Auntie, I have some things to do. I'll leave A-Yi here with you for now and come back to pick him up later." Jiang Hua left after saying this.

Following her memory of the route she had taken before, Jiang Hua arrived at the place where she had picked He Shou Wu last time. She walked several hundred meters further in before she heard the roar of a tiger.

Has the plot orchestrated by the system unfolded?

"That's right, you vicious female supporting character, by the time you arrive, my leading lady will already be saving him, and the leading man will be fighting against the beast!" The system suddenly spoke up, as if it could read her mind.

"Shut up!" Jiang Hua said coldly, taking out a sharp dagger from her spatial storage, which was transformed from the little white snake.

However, upon hearing Jiang Hua's impatient words, the system became even more smug and kept chattering incessantly.

As Jiang Hua followed the sound closer and closer, she smelled a bloody odor and heard a familiar woman's voice—none other than Lin Shuyan's.

Jiang Hua walked out, and what came into view was Zhou Yingxuan and Jiang Xingzhou staring intently at a tiger, the tiger ready to pounce at any moment.
