"You're talking nonsense! You heartless wretch, Old Lady Lin will haunt you even in death!" said one of the villagers holding a hoe.
"Tsk." The woman stepped forward and kicked over the red flower sitting on the ground, and then, not giving up, kicked away the jar she was holding.
The ashes from the jar spilled onto the ground.
"Grandma!" Honghua shouted, quickly put the lid back on the jar, and stared intently at the woman.
"You brat, how dare you look at me like that! Go and kidnap her! I'll send her to Yingchun Tower today!" the woman said coldly.
"Let's see who dares!" The man who had just been blocked by Jiang Hua stepped forward with a hoe and shouted, "Everyone, attack together! Don't let this woman take Honghua away!"
The scene immediately descended into chaos, and a woman quietly went up and pulled the red flowers on the ground aside.
Although the villagers were not afraid of trouble, how could their hoes and sticks be a match for the broadswords in the hands of those big men? Just as one of the big men was about to stab the man who had just spoken with his broadsword.
Jiang Hua quickly ran over and kicked the big man, sending him flying several meters away in full view of everyone before he finally fell to the ground.
Many villagers were stunned, and several other burly men looked on with confusion, wondering where this woman had come from.
"Get up there! What are you standing there for?" the sharp-tongued woman ordered.
Jiang Hua didn't stand on ceremony. Ever since Jiang Xingzhou left, she had been all alone and hadn't had anyone to practice on her ears for a long time.
However, just when Jiang Hua thought they could fight for a few rounds, they were defeated after just one round. They were so weak.
"Who are you?" The woman looked at the large knife pointed at her neck and retreated step by step in fear.
"Who did you just say you were going to take to Yingchun Tower?" Jiang Hua asked, approaching step by step with a cold face.
"No, we didn't arrest anyone, you've misunderstood, we're leaving now!" With that, the woman winked at the burly men on the ground and ran away as if her life depended on it.
After seeing those people leave, the villagers holding hoes breathed a sigh of relief and turned their gaze to Jiang Hua.
"Girl, thank you for saving me," the man said, putting down his hoe and stepping forward.
"Husband, something terrible has happened! Honghua has fainted!" the woman who had just pulled Honghua away shouted.
"What should we do? The village chief went to Xujia Village to fetch a doctor, but he hasn't returned yet." The man glanced at Jiang Hua with a hint of apology, then picked up the unconscious Honghua and carried her into the thatched hut.
"Stepmother, just now you," how could you be so powerful?
Before Jiang Jingyi could finish speaking, he saw his stepmother go inside. Seeing so many people, he decided not to join in the fun and waited for her outside the door.
Jiang Hua arrived. The windows of the thatched hut were tightly closed, with no ventilation at all. How could this little girl not get sick after staying in such an environment for two days?
"It's too stuffy in here. Everyone, please don't all huddle together in here. The air isn't circulating," Jiang Hua said to the villagers inside the house.
The man who had spoken earlier seemed to be the one who could make decisions among the villagers. After hearing Jiang Hua's words, he also noticed the problem. The house was indeed full of people, so he immediately ordered everyone to evacuate.
"Thank you for reminding me, young lady," the man said, stepping forward to express his gratitude.
"They're here, the village chief is back!" someone called from outside the door.
The man quickly went outside.
"Father, why are you alone? Didn't you go to Xujia Village to invite Doctor Zhang over?" the man asked anxiously as he stepped forward.
"Sigh, Doctor Zhang isn't here. He's queuing up to distribute silver. He said he saved a rich man's son, and that son is distributing silver to the people in their village," Village Chief Lu sighed.
"What should we do? Honghua has already fainted," the man said anxiously.
Jiang Hua also learned from others that the old man in front of her was Village Chief Lu of Shili Village, and the man just now was Village Chief Lu's son, Lu Dayong.
"Father, let's all chip in some money and take Honghua to see a doctor in town," Lu Dayong said reluctantly.
Upon hearing this, the other villagers were already taking out their silver coins. Everyone could only produce a few copper coins, which showed how poor the village was.
"Wait a minute," Jiang Hua interrupted them.
“I know some medical skills, and I have some herbs at home that I can use to treat her.”
"Young lady, who are you?" Village Chief Lu asked Jiang Hua curiously.
"Dad, the aunt with the red flower brought people to cause trouble just now, and it was this girl who saved them," Lu Dayong introduced.
"Young lady, do you really know medicine?"
“Yes, I have some dried herbs at home. You can go back with my son to get them. I’ll go in first and take a look at Honghua.”
After exchanging a glance with his son, Village Chief Lu nodded.
“Where do you live? I’ll go back with your son to get it,” Lu Dayong said as he stepped forward.
They split into two groups. Jiang Hua also entered Honghua's thatched hut and immediately opened the tightly closed windows. Village Chief Lu followed her in, somewhat worried.
Jiang Hua took out a set of silver needles from her sleeve, which she actually took out from her spatial storage, along with a fever-reducing patch.
At this point, Honghua was already delirious from the fever. It would be more effective if she took the medicine from her spatial storage, but it wasn't convenient to take it out right now.
"Do you have hot water? Let's wipe her down," Jiang Hua asked, noticing the little girl's dirty face.
"Yes, I have some at home, I'll go get it." The aunt who lived next door to Honghua quickly replied and ran back to bring the hot water over.
Jiang Hua took out a handkerchief and wiped the dirt off her face before putting a fever-reducing patch on her.
"Grandma...don't die...don't leave Honghua..." Honghua kept murmuring something.
Seeing this, Jiang Hua felt a pang of sadness, remembering how she looked when she was a child and before she was taken into the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs.
The silver needles in his hand had already been inserted into her body. Village Chief Lu looked at the red flower on the bed with concern, but then noticed that Jiang Hua's acupuncture technique was not that of an amateur, and only then did he feel relieved.
Xujia Village and Shili Village are not far apart. Half an hour later, Jiang Hua put away the needles, and Lu Dayong returned with Jiang Jingyi, carrying a basket of dried herbs.
After Jiang Hua selected the herbs suitable for safflower symptoms, she asked Lu Dayong to go and brew the medicine.
"Stepmother, how is she?" Jiang Jingyi hurriedly stepped forward and asked.
"Thank you so much, young lady." After glancing at Jiang Jingyi, who turned out to be the stepmother, and seeing that Jiang Hua's hair was not styled like a married woman's, Village Chief Lu still addressed Jiang Hua as "young lady."
“Village Chief Lu, you don’t need to be so polite. I just happened to come and see the safflower,” Jiang Hua explained.
