Three years later...
Jiang Hua and Bai Heng traveled all over the beautiful landscapes of the Dasheng Kingdom, but eventually returned to Shili Village.
"Young Miss, you're finally back!" Granny Jiang looked at Jiang Hua, whom she hadn't seen for three years, and couldn't help but shed tears as she watched Jiang Hua wipe away her tears.
"Granny, it's only been three years, but you seem to have aged a lot," Jiang Hua said with a light laugh, taking out a handkerchief to wipe away the tears from the corners of Granny Jiang's eyes.
"Young Miss, you always make fun of me." Granny Jiang then asked Jiang Hua if she could still walk.
"I'm not going any further. I'm tired and need to rest," Jiang Hua replied.
"It's good that you're not leaving, young lady. Your room is cleaned by the servants every day, waiting for your return."
"Okay." Jiang Hua nodded.
After they entered the courtyard together, Granny Jiang stepped forward and glanced at Bai Heng, who was following behind her, and asked Jiang Hua in a low voice:
"Young Miss, are you back this time to marry Young Master Bai?"
Granny Jiang was extremely anxious, watching helplessly as she passed the age for marriage.
Jiang Hua looked at Jiang Mama's anxious expression and felt that if she didn't get married soon, Jiang Mama would tie her up and force her to go through the wedding ceremony.
He touched his nose and coughed lightly: "Well, I'll talk to Granny about this later."
However, Granny Jiang had no patience to wait. Ignoring the insubordination, she went to Jiang Hua's study and dismissed Granny Wu and the others who were following her.
"Young Master Bai, I have something to discuss with Miss Bai. Please excuse us for a moment."
Bai Heng cupped his hands in greeting, said goodbye to Jiang Hua, and returned to his previous room.
After closing the door, Jiang Hua leaned lazily against the soft couch, her eyes full of smiles as she looked at Granny Jiang.
"Young Miss, how can you still laugh!"
"Granny, I feel like you want to tie me up and find a man to marry me right away." Xia Yunxi fiddled with a strand of hair on her chest.
“If Miss were still alive, how could she have let you travel outside for so long! If I don’t see Miss get married, I will have no face to face Miss after I die.”
As Jiang Mama spoke, her eyes reddened again, and she took out a handkerchief to wipe the corners of her eyes.
"Get married, get married, let's get married right away. Just pick a date, Granny," Jiang Hua quickly coaxed.
However, after three years apart, why does Granny Jiang suddenly start crying so easily?
Naturally, three years had worn down her former sharpness, and even Granny Jiang felt that Jiang Hua had changed.
"Okay." Granny Jiang happily put the handkerchief away.
Seeing how easily Jiang Mama controlled her emotions, Jiang Hua admitted that she couldn't compare.
"Young Miss, is it with Young Master Bai?" Granny Jiang guessed, secretly hoping that the person was Bai Heng.
Bai Heng's kindness towards the young lady was evident to her; she was an experienced woman who had lived most of her life.
Between Bai Heng and the Regent, who is more suitable for the young lady? Naturally, it is Bai Heng, whose heart is full of the young lady.
As for the Regent, he cares about the world and is different. Most importantly, the young lady is free and, like the young lady, is not bound by the rules of the palace.
"What do you think, Granny?" Jiang Hua looked at the conflicted look in Granny Jiang's eyes and wanted to hear her opinion.
“I have my eye on Young Master Bai, Miss,” said Granny Jiang, revealing her true feelings.
“Yes, Granny is right.” Jiang Hua nodded.
On her way back to the village, Jiang Hua had already written Jiang Xingzhou her last reply.
Just these few words—May we all be well, and don't worry about us!
She returned all subsequent letters sent by Jiang Xingzhou, treating them as mere passersby from the past.
Bai Heng was unaware of this matter. For the past three years, he had stayed by her side without ever uttering a single complaint.
Jiang Hua felt that Bai Heng was someone she could practically pluck the stars and moon from the sky for herself.
It's time to give their story a beginning.
"Then, I'll write a letter to inform Madam Bai's family, and then find someone to match our birth dates and choose an auspicious day," Granny Jiang said excitedly as she stood up.
Jiang Hua paced back and forth, constantly arranging the next steps.
"Granny, the date hasn't been chosen yet, there's no need to rush." Jiang Hua rubbed her temples.
"How can we not be in a hurry? We must remember this matter and choose the fastest auspicious day with Madam Bai." Granny Jiang continued to nag.
It wasn't that she was in a hurry; she was afraid that Jiang Hua might act impulsively and regret it the next day.
“Young Miss, I brought you the wedding dress that Miss prepared for you. She made it herself when she was still alive. However, Miss met with misfortune before the dress was finished.” Granny Jiang said to Jiang Hua as if she remembered something.
"Later, the wedding dress was sewn up stitch by stitch by Young Master Jiang Xun."
"Uncle?" Jiang Hua asked in surprise.
"Young Miss, when you get married, will you be marrying into the Jiang family in the capital or in Shili Village?"
"Let's just stay here, no need to make a fuss," Jiang Hua said thoughtfully.
Everyone is here, including Granny Jiang. I'll write a letter to inform Jiang Xun later.
There's nothing to miss in the capital; the real Jiang family mansion is now in Shili Village.
"Alright." Granny Jiang silently noted it down in her mind: "What about Young Master Bai..."
"I'll handle things with Bai Heng. You can make the arrangements, Granny."
After a long day in the carriage, Jiang Hua was feeling a bit tired, so she got up and prepared to go back to her room to rest for a while.
"Then Miss, please rest first. I'll go now."
After escorting Jiang Hua back to her room, Granny Jiang gently closed the door.
"Granny Jiang, how is the young lady?"
