Chapter 104 Telling Everyone I'm Dead

"It's getting late, go back and rest. Stay home and recover for a couple of days, then you can bring A-Yi back."

After finishing, Jiang Hua felt a wave of exhaustion. The stitching of the wound required a high level of concentration, and her eyes were sore.

"There are plenty of rooms in the house, see which one you want to sleep in."

"Okay." Seeing that Jiang Hua was indeed tired, Jiang Xingzhou left her room and found the closest room to her to rest. After traveling for so many days, she was indeed exhausted.

The next day, after Jiang Hua finished washing up and went out, Jiang Xingzhou was already sitting on the stone bench in the courtyard.

Jiang Hua led Jiang Xingzhou to the dining hall, where Fangru and the others had already started setting out breakfast.

"Miss, who is this?" Fangru looked at Jiangxinzhou curiously. Is he the young lady's husband?

“His surname is Jiang, and he is A-Yi’s father,” Jiang Hua replied calmly, sitting down to eat breakfast.

"Greetings, Young Master Jiang." Fangru and the others quickly bowed and greeted him.

"You are!" Only Wen Yu stared at Jiang Xingzhou in shock, unable to utter a word.

"Eat breakfast first." Jiang Xingzhou glanced at Wen Yu and casually ladled a bowl of porridge for Jiang Hua.

Jiang Hua noticed Wen Yu's sudden change in mood. When Chun Niang bought these people, their backgrounds were already extraordinary. Now, Wen Yu must have recognized Jiang Xingzhou's identity.

After breakfast, Jiang Xingzhou told Jiang Hua and then called Wen Yu into the study.

"Sister-in-law, did my brother do something wrong?" Wenqing and Wenya asked anxiously, looking at the closed study, which had not been opened for half an hour.

Inside the study, Wen Yu knelt on the floor with his back straight, looking at Jiang Xingzhou sitting in the armchair with tears in his eyes.

"Regent!" Wen Yu's tone was extremely heavy, as if a wronged child had found an adult to rely on.

"Get up, I already know." Jiang Xingzhou told Wen Yu to stand up.

"Your Majesty, my parents said before they died that as long as their deaths could help Your Majesty and Da Sheng, they would have no regrets," Wen Yu said respectfully, cupping his hands.

“Regent, I am willing to follow you to the death!” Wen Yu said again.

“In a few days, I will return to the border. If you are willing, I will take you with me. However, you must understand that the border is currently engulfed in war every day, and the chance of survival is extremely slim,” Jiang Xingzhou said, looking at him.

"Regent, I am willing to go with you!" Wen Yu did not want to spend his whole life stuck in this small village.

"Okay." Jiang Xingzhou got up to leave the study, but Wen Yu called him back.

"And what about the girl? The reason we were able to see you again this time is because you rescued us from the human market."

“I’ll talk to her about it,” Jiang Xingzhou nodded in agreement.

"Are you going to town today?" Jiang Xingzhou came out of the study, where Jiang Hua was sitting in the courtyard drinking tea.

“No, I’ll take you to Xujia Village instead. After all, you haven’t been back for so long, everyone’s saying you’re dead,” Jiang Hua said slowly, putting down her teacup.

Sure enough, Jiang Xingzhou's expression changed instantly.

...

In Xujia Village, Jiang Hua and Jiang Xingzhou strolled leisurely towards Aunt Liu's house. Along the way, some people recognized Jiang Xingzhou and quickly ran away.

"Auntie, I've come to see you." Jiang Hua called out from outside the courtyard, and only entered the courtyard after receiving permission from Aunt Liu.

"Huahua, Xiaojiang!" Aunt Liu exclaimed in surprise.

When did you get back?

“I came back last night,” Jiang Xingzhou replied.

"Sit down, sit down, old man, quickly pour a glass of water," Aunt Liu called into the house.

"Oh, Xiao Jiang is finally back." Uncle Liu said in surprise as he came out of the house.

"It's good that you're back. Huahua suffered a lot while you were gone. The villagers talked a lot about her." Uncle Liu simply sat down as well.

"That's right, luckily Huahua is also very capable and doesn't care what others say. If it were any other girl, how could she stand being talked about like that?" Aunt Liu chimed in from the side.

She recounted all the rumors circulating in the village about Jiang Hua to Jiang Xingzhou, which made Jiang Xingzhou frown.

"Huahua, now that Xiaojiang is back and your house is finished, why don't you get married?" Aunt Liu suggested.

"Auntie, I don't care about these things." Jiang Hua changed the subject: "Auntie, isn't Brother Tianming home today?"

"She went to town to set up a stall." Seeing that Jiang Hua had no interest in talking about this, Aunt Liu didn't continue.

Jiang Xingzhou, however, kept it in mind.

After chatting for a while at Aunt Liu's house, the two got up to leave. Just as they stepped out of the yard, they ran into Zhou Yingxuan and Lin Shuyan walking side by side. The two looked like they had just returned from town.

"Jiang Hua!" Zhou Yingxuan felt inexplicably uncomfortable when he saw that Jiang Hua didn't even give him a glance.

"What's up?"

"You're back?" Zhou Yingxuan looked at Jiang Xingzhou: "I've already raised fifty taels of silver. You've treated Jiang Hua badly, so give her back to me."

"Brother Xuan." Hearing Zhou Yingxuan's words, Lin Shuyan felt even more resentful towards Jiang Hua.

Didn't they move to Shili Village?

Why does she still haunt her Xuan-gege like a ghost? A hint of hatred flashed in Lin Shuyan's lowered eyes.

"Jiang Hua, since you won't let me have an easy time, I won't let you off either!" Lin Shuyan thought bitterly.

"Brother Jiang, where did you go? Why did you leave my cousin alone at home? Everyone in the village is talking about it." Lin Shuyan stepped forward and looked at Jiang Xingzhou, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopped before she could finish.

"So it was you two who went around the village telling everyone I was dead?" Jiang Xingzhou asked the two men in front of him with a cold face.

Jiang Hua chuckled, amused by Jiang Xingzhou's blunt words, then glanced at Lin Shuyan and Zhou Yingxuan's liver-colored faces.

“Zhou Yingxuan, you know, every time you're in front of me you're like a brainless man jumping around.” Jiang Xingzhou said, looking at Zhou Yingxuan.

"You said you wanted to redeem Huahua from me. You've said that more than three times already, haven't you?"

“Some things, if said too often, become a joke. Fifty taels of silver, you can earn it back after a few hunting trips in the mountains. How long has it been since you first said that?”

"Don't even mention Huahua. I'm a man like you, and I look down on you. Besides, you were the one who disliked Huahua in the first place. What are you pretending to be affectionate for now?" Jiang Xingzhou looked at Zhou Yingxuan with eyes full of sarcasm.

“Brother Jiang, you’ve misunderstood. Brother Xuan isn’t that kind of person,” Lin Shuyan quickly defended Zhou Yingxuan.

"Brother Jiang, you don't know this, do you? Grandma and Aunt went to see a shaman. She's not the original cousin. She's been possessed by a ghost."

"Oh? Is that so?" Jiang Xingzhou glanced at Jiang Hua upon hearing this, then looked at Lin Shuyan and replied:
