Chapter 16 Shennong Ding

Speaking of the Sun and Moon swords, one question that is difficult to explain and is often overlooked is how such artifacts were forged?

There are many artifacts left over from ancient times, but not many of them were clearly made by the powerful humans. Among them, three artifacts are the most famous because they each prevented a huge world-destroying disaster.

The Sky-Repairing Stone was made by Nuwa. After the sky was repaired, the demons from outer space could no longer launch large-scale attacks on the underground world.

Shennong Ding was cast by Shennong. After suppressing the Nine Provinces' earth veins, the ghosts of the Nine Netherworld were sealed in the underworld.

The Yin-Yang Sword was forged by Fuxi. It defeated the demons, who outnumbered the human race, and forced them directly into the East Emperor Realm.

It is precisely because of these three sets of human artifacts that the human race was saved from distress that they have become famous and passed down to this day, surpassing those artifacts that are obviously very powerful but are unknown.

"How was I made?" Su Mingjian was amused by this question. "Master Sword Master, do you remember how you were born?"

Luo Yan was immediately speechless, and after a while he said:

"Which one was forged first, the Sun Sword or you?"

If the order of birth is Su Ming Sword first, then Zhen Mei Sword, then Su Ming Sword might be able to see the casting process of Zhen Mei Sword.

"The Zhenmei Sword came into being first." Su Mingjian said faintly, "I was originally created to be used as a backup for the Zhenmei Sword."

"Backup?"

"It is to prevent the human race from being immediately helpless in case something goes wrong with the Zhenmei Sword." Su Mingjian replied.

Luo Yan understood it immediately. If he thought about it carefully, wouldn't other divine weapons be the same?

The Sky-Repairing Stone I'm looking for is the backup that Nuwa made back then, isn't it?

"Come to think of it, I remember that Shennong Ding originally refined ten of them." Su Mingjian suddenly asked Kunlun Jing, "Nine of them were used to suppress the nine states' veins, and one was left as a backup. Do you know where the backup went?"

"It seems to be in Shennongjia." Kunlun Mirror replied.

"But after so many years, the Shennongjia Mountains must have been explored completely, right?" Su Mingjian said.

"Well, but if it had been discovered, it wouldn't have remained unknown until now." Kunlun Jing pondered, "Rare items like the Shennong Ding must only be obtained by major sects, and if these major sects were able to obtain the treasure, they would definitely use it, and it is unlikely that they would hide it secretly."

"Master Sword Master, how about we go find that Shennong Ding?" Su Mingjian said with a smile, "Don't you just want to find the superb sword-making technique for your wife?"

"It is said that the Shennong Ding is engraved with all the secret techniques of the human race at that time, such as casting, alchemy, and formations. Sword casting must be included in it."

"Oh?" Luo Yan was immediately interested, but then he changed his mind and asked, "Why are these secret techniques of hundreds of schools engraved on the Shennong Ding?"

"Because Shennong was a person who loved to study miscellaneous subjects." Kunlun Mirror replied, "He was best at identifying magical herbs and refining elixirs, but he was also knowledgeable in other areas."

After hearing what Yijing Yijian said, Luo Yan began to think about exploring Shennongjia.

As Su Mingjian said, theoretically speaking, the Shennongjia Mountains must have been searched thoroughly for hundreds of thousands of years from ancient times to the present.

Just by hearing the name, who doesn’t know that the Shennong Ding, the last item left by Shennong, might be hidden inside?

However, Luo Yan had the scanner with him after all, plus his talent of understanding everything he heard, and was best at finding out the truth from clues, as well as Shi Niangzi's incredible magic skills, so he was full of confidence in this trip.

When I arrived at Shi Liuli's sword forge, I saw her taking a sword blank out of the molten iron, and then using a sword chisel to outline the formation on it.

The sword-making workshop sounds like a very passionate and sweaty place, and indeed it is. The indoor temperature is at least over 50 degrees, and the heat waves are constantly rolling out from the furnaces and magical instruments, making people subconsciously feel that the people working here are all shirtless and muscular men.

But Shi Liuli was a Jindan Zhenren after all, so he just put on a single piece of clothing with a cooling formation and continued to work attentively.

As the bare hands turned the sword, patterns were skillfully carved on the sword blank, full of rhythmic and geometric beauty.

Luo Yan knew that enchanting the flying sword was the most critical step in the sword-forging process, so he didn't dare to disturb her.

After Shi Liuli finished carving, he placed the red-hot sword embryo into a container filled with ** beside him, turned around and asked:

"My husband, do you have something to ask me?"

"Are you okay?" Luo Yan asked in surprise, pointing at the sword embryo.

Although he specialized in forging cauldrons and formations, it was impossible for him to know nothing about sword forging. Every time the sword blank was engraved with patterns, a layer of Taoism would be attached to it. Next, it would be reheated, then placed in molten iron for sealing, and then patterns would be engraved again, and this would be repeated.

If it is only engraved once, it will only have one layer of Taoism, and it has not been packaged, so the consumption of true energy will be even greater... Can such a flying sword really be sold?

Shi Liuli understood Luo Yan's meaning and replied calmly:

"If you want to package it, the price will be even more expensive."

"You're not willing to pay this little spiritual stone?" Luo Yan asked subconsciously at first, then realized that casual cultivators didn't seem to have much income, "What about the Taoism? Don't you need to seal multiple layers of the Taoism?"

"No need." Shi Liuli replied, "From the market feedback, the requirements of casual cultivators for flying swords are that the more powerful the better."

"If two layers of Taoism are engraved, then they will definitely use the more powerful one and discard the other one, so there is no need to seal multiple layers of Taoism."

"What about auxiliary and defensive Taoist methods?" Luo Yan asked.

"They don't know how to use it." Shi Liuli replied.

"Okay..." After all, Luo Yan had the talent to understand everything he heard, so he reacted after a few thoughts.

Most of the independent cultivators have low cultivation levels and no defensive capabilities, so when fighting, they tend to use all their strength to kill their opponents.

As long as the opponent falls, I don't need to defend myself? This is a very simple idea, but it fits the characteristics of a casual cultivator.

"My husband, do you have something to talk to me about?" Shi Liuli continued to ask.

"Liuli." Luo Yan reorganized his thoughts and asked, "Would you like to go with me to explore Shennongjia?"

Shi Liuli was silent for a moment and asked:

"My husband, are you going to search for the trace of the Shennong Ding?"

"In fact, the number of times that the temple has explored Shennongjia in previous years is at least 800, if not 1,000, but every time we have found nothing."

"It is said that there is no trace of the Shennong Ding, let alone any remains that could possibly hold clues. The entire Shennongjia mountain area is full of trees and wild animals, without any traces of human remains."

"At present, the temple suspects that the area may just be a rumor and is not actually the area where Shennong lived in the past."

Luo Yan was completely unmoved. How could those miscellaneous exploration teams of Yuqing Temple compare with us as a couple? He smiled and said:

"In that case, why don't you ask me to tell your fortune and see how this trip will go."

Shi Liuli nodded, took out a copper coin and started to tell fortunes.

After a moment, she frowned slightly and said thoughtfully:

"Hmm, that's strange... I think I can go there."

"What's so strange?" Luo Yan asked.

"The hexagram shows two results at the same time." Shi Liuli replied, "nothing and something."
