The Nanlan River is the longest river in the Southern Jambu Prefecture of the Eastern Emperor Realm. It originates from the Luohui Mountain in Zhongzhou, passes through the deep woods, winds its way through the interior of the Dian Cang Mountains, and finally flows into the Aral Sea on the west bank of the Southern Jambu Prefecture.
Most merchant fleets sailing through Southern Jambu do not like to pass through the Nanlan River.
The reason is that it detours too much in the Dian Cang Mountains, and it takes almost three times as long as the Qunu River in the east which is almost a straight line.
However, due to the recent hostility between the Qilin and Vermilion Bird tribes, many sections of the Qunu River were blocked by the Qilin, forcing many merchant ships to take a detour via the Nanlan River to transport goods.
Long Long, along with Long Hu, sneaked onto the merchant ship heading to Zhongzhou, and inquired about the current situation in the Donghuang Realm from the merchant ship sailors.
The Eastern Emperor Realm is a whole continent, divided into four states by two mountain ranges.
Among them, the Azure Dragon controls the East Province, the Vermilion Bird controls the South Province, the White Tiger controls the West Province, and the Black Turtle controls the North Province.
These four races can crush any other race in terms of overall strength, number, or high-level combat power, so they are called the "Four Emperors" - this nickname was given by Long Long, because there is no such thing as "emperor" among the monster race, and they are still practicing the feudal system.
From a feudal perspective, the four major states of east, west, south and north are roughly equivalent to four principalities, controlled by four major lords.
Within each principality, there are countless city-states of all sizes, ruled by small lords (that is, ordinary demons) under the great lords.
The demon clans ruled large tracts of territory, which were then divided up among smaller clans for management. The smaller clans had the obligation to pay tribute to the larger clans and respond to military requests, which was surprisingly similar to the European Middle Ages on Earth.
In addition to these four noble families, there is also the Qilin clan, who have lived in Taiyi Lake in the center of the continent for generations.
Because they had the support of the Canglong and Xuangui tribes, as well as the verbal submission of the Baihu tribe, the Qilin tribe was known as the "King of All Tribes" and nominally commanded all the demon tribes in the Eastern Emperor Realm.
"So, Long Long, the 'Four Emperors' you mentioned are actually not as good as Qilin, right?" In the cabin, the little fox lying on the carpet drew inferences from one example and analyzed.
"No." Long Long shook his head and said, "According to the description of the sailors on the ship, the Qilin clan is just a slightly larger demon clan."
"The so-called 'King of Kings' is probably just a title made up by Canglong and Xuangui in order to push Qilin to the forefront and compete with the Zhuniao tribe in the south."
"You mean, Qilin needs the title of 'King of Kings' to ensure that he can benefit from the entire Eastern Emperor Realm." Dragon Fox's little brain was also working quickly, "And Canglong and Xuangui need someone to stand in front of them and withstand the attacks of the Vermilion Bird Clan."
"That's right." Long Long snapped his fingers, "I guess there must be a very powerful immortal boss within the Qilin clan."
"Cooperation must be based on equal strength. Since the Qilin clan as a whole is not as good as the four major clans, it must have an advantage in high-end combat power, so that it can retain the title of 'King of Kings'."
Dragon Fox's little face showed a thoughtful expression, and suddenly asked:
"Long Long, does status have to be based on strength?"
"Of course." Long Long said.
"Why?" asked the dragon fox.
"Because the world is so big, there are all kinds of creatures." Long Long explained patiently, "With different creatures, there will be disagreements and conflicts."
"When encountering conflicts and disagreements, how do we resolve them? Some people hope to use rules, some hope to use morality. But there are definitely some creatures who do not want to follow rules, nor are they willing to be bound by morality... They do not want to talk about any reason at all, they just want to use violence to eliminate all those who disobey."
"The only way to deal with them is with stronger violence... Whether they agree or not, as long as we kill them all, there will be no conflict."
"So, whether it's rules, morals, or anything else, they all have their limitations."
"Only strength can solve all problems - or more accurately, it can solve all problem makers. Strength is absolutely omnipotent."
"I see." Long Hu nodded seriously, "Then as long as I have enough strength, I can bully you in return, right, Long Long?"
"That's right." Long Long also said seriously, "As long as you are stronger, you can make me kneel down and call you mother or grandmother."
As he spoke, he suddenly pulled the little fox into his arms and began to stroke its tail.
"But now I'm stronger, so I can bully you... Call me 'good brother'!"
"No!" The little fox was trembling all over because of his stroking, but he still insisted, "Go to hell!"
But her tail feels so good to touch, it's fluffy, soft, and very big, you can bury your face in it and suck it.
Long Long helps her comb her hair every day. Of course, since there is no comb, she can only use her fingers instead.
"If you shout 'good brother, please spare me', I will let you go." Long Long said with a smile.
“No, no, no!” The little fox narrowed his eyes (I don’t know if it was because of comfort or pain), and spread out his four little paws weakly, revealing the tender pink flesh inside, but cried out, “How can you be worthy of my mother by bullying me like this?”
"Your mother told you to obey me in everything, not to let you talk back to me!" Long Long demonstratively placed his hand on the base of her tail and threatened, "If you don't obey, I will pull your tail off!"
"Woo!" The little fox was obviously frightened.
Because Long Long recently lied to her and said that he had a secret technique that could remove the fox's tail, leaving only a bare butt.
"Good brother, please forgive me!" she cried reluctantly.
"Hahaha!" Long Long burst into laughter. Before he could pay attention, the dragon fox broke free and jumped onto his shoulder again, slapping his face with its tail, then jumped onto the wooden box next to him and disappeared behind the pile of goods.
"What are you arguing about?" The door of the cargo hold was suddenly opened, and a face with deer horns poked out from the crack of the door and shouted, "Longlong, come out to work!"
"Okay!" Long Long stood up immediately.
This man with deer horns was the owner of this merchant ship, and was called "Jujiao".
Although he looks a bit strange, he is a genuine True Lord who has formed a demon pill.
Long Long offered to help work on the merchant ship in exchange for the other party allowing him and Long Hu to take a boat to the north.
He left the dark cargo hold, came to the deck, and began to work with the sailors.
Most of the sailors were low-level goblins, with about the same intelligence as human children. They did physical work like carrying heavy objects, raising and lowering anchors, and they couldn't even steer the ship, so the owner of the giant horn ship had to do it himself.
Now that we have Long Long, at least we can take turns at the helm, which can save Jujiao a lot of energy.
Long Long climbed onto the helm and asked casually:
"Captain, how long will it take to reach the nearest city?"
"It's still twelve miles away from the city of Prichi." Jujiao sat down on the side of the boat next to him, took out his wine gourd and started drinking.
"Pulichi City?" Long Long held the steering wheel and said curiously.
"That's the bird language, and it seems to mean 'City of the South Wind'," Giant Horn replied, "Bird language is always chirping, and there are a lot of toilets in the city, you will know when you go there."
