The zombie horde overwhelmed Qian Li.
Then, a huge roar rang out, and several shattered corpses flew out from the center of the zombie horde.
Then came several more agonizing sounds of flesh tearing apart, accompanied by the clattering of bones.
The number of these zombies is decreasing at a visible rate.
This was even with Qian Li deliberately using only the new psionic energy. If she combined it with her original psionic energy, these zombies wouldn't even be able to run.
These second-tier zombies looked at their fallen companions and the debris scattered on the ground, and finally realized a problem.
They couldn't defeat the seemingly weak human in front of them.
It's unclear which zombie led the way, but it turned around and ran away on a zombie horse.
Seeing their companions retreat, the surrounding zombies lost the will to continue fighting and quickly scattered.
Qian Li would occasionally grab a few of the slower zombies and smash their heads, but this didn't stop the zombies; instead, they ran even faster when they saw this.
Only after all the zombies had fled did Qian Li slowly get up.
At her feet, not even a complete corpse could be pieced together; the most intact bodies had been torn in half.
After shaking the blood off her small hands, Qian Li returned to the truck.
These fleeing Tier 2 zombies will encounter the approaching Tier 1 zombie horde, and presumably no other zombies will come.
“There won’t be any more dangers. How’s the new psionic energy? If you don’t like it, I’ll get you another one.” Li Xuanzu took out a freshly wrung-out towel and handed it to Qian Li.
“Psionic power is very useful, making up for my weakness in close combat, but it’s a bit too violent.” Qian Li answered Li Xuanzu’s question while wiping the blood off her skin.
"That's good. Do you want to get some sleep? I can keep watch, and I'll find you a spot by the cargo box." Li Xuanzu asked Qian Li.
"No need," Qian Li refused, returning the used towel to Li Xuanzu.
Li Xuanzu took the towel, and the scene fell into a deathly silence.
"Shall we chat?" Li Xuanzu asked.
"Um."
"What do you want to talk about?"
"have no idea."
The conversation ended quickly, and the atmosphere became awkward once again.
“Speaking of which, we’ve known each other for so long, and I still don’t know what your dream is. Tell me about it,” Li Xuanzu started the conversation.
“Dream…?” Qian Li repeated, lost in thought.
Li Xuanzu was very patient with Qian Li, sitting down quietly and waiting for her reply.
One minute, three minutes, five minutes.
Time passed slowly, and Fu Yu, who was in the truck, had long since fallen into a deep sleep.
"Am I worthy of having dreams?" Qian Li thought for a long time, and then just made a self-deprecating remark.
"You have to have dreams, otherwise you won't have the motivation to live."
"If I had to say, I was originally living with my brother, but now, hehe." Qian Li glanced at Li Xuanzu.
"My brother's fate is now unknown, and I am only living to repay a debt of gratitude, whether it is him or me."
"Is that so? Would you be interested in hearing about my dream?" Li Xuanzu did not agree with Qian Li, but instead steered the conversation to himself.
Qian Li did not answer, but simply nodded.
"Me? I'm the same as you. My heart has died." Li Xuanzu said something very shocking right from the start.
“I come from a very, very small village, so small that it doesn’t even have a name.”
"Let me tell you, I come from a world of advanced martial arts, which you can think of as a highly advanced civilization."
“In our culture, strength is paramount. My initial dream was to become strong and not be bullied.”
"Later, I met a wonderful girl in a sect, who later became my wife."
“We were exceptionally talented from a young age, and after making a name for ourselves in a small sect, we moved on to a large sect.”
"She loves to drink. She always appears gentle in front of strangers, but only when she has a few drinks does she feel like her true self."
"Once we joined a major sect, we gradually distinguished ourselves through our talent and hard work, and gained the favor of the sect's experts."
"He was a very old man, and he was the only master I ever had in my life."
"He taught us powerful combat skills, and also taught me a lot about how to be a good person."
"However, he didn't live long. I only found out later that he was never going to live much longer, and he just took advantage of our affinity."
"Although it was only a short three years, I still only recognize him as my master, no matter how many people tried to teach me later."
"Then, my wife and I achieved success in our cultivation, and we were able to enter the inner circle and become part of the sect's higher echelons."
"It was at that time that I truly realized how filthy these high-ranking parasites were."
"Not only do they arbitrarily exploit the sect's disciples, but those good-looking male and female disciples who have no powerful background are all kept as the harem of the higher-ups."
"We were slow to realize it. Our master took us in because he didn't want to see us, who love each other so much, being torn apart by those beasts."
"But the good times didn't last long. We didn't fit in at all in the high-level circles, so we naturally became the targets of exclusion."
"My wife died because of them."
At this point, Li Xuanzu's emotions became somewhat unstable, and his chest rose and fell slightly.
Qian Li was somewhat surprised to see Li Xuanzu suppressing his anger.
She rarely saw Li Xuanzu lose his composure like this.
