Chapter 87 The Strange Slave

"Hmm? Is this strange?" Li Xuanzu released the zombie in his hand only after seeing the shadowy figure move.

He stomped his foot slowly, landing precisely on the figure's chest.

“Foolish…” The shadow scoffed when it saw that Li Xuanzu actually wanted to acknowledge him.

"What? How could this be!" It cried out in surprise when Li Xuanzu's foot pinned it firmly in place.

The sound was extremely harsh and somewhat hoarse, but also shrill, like the sound of fingernails scratching a blackboard, which was very unpleasant.

As the strange creature was brought under control, the figures of zombies began to appear not far from them.

As Li Xuanzu said, they did not disappear, but were simply hidden.

A rough count revealed at least three thousand zombies, most of them being first-tier zombies. There were no ordinary zombies at all; they all possessed spirit cores.

No wonder they move so fast. Normal zombies are actually quite fast, but they don't run on their own without guidance; they just wander around aimlessly.

"Are you a weirdo? You seem to be of a high rank, third rank? No, you're much stronger than second rank, but a bit weaker." Li Xuanzu muttered to himself.

He didn't lower his voice, so the eerie sound beneath his feet could be heard clearly.

"If it weren't for those damned shamanic disciples, would you have had the chance to take advantage of this? Bah!" The strange creature was extremely annoyed and even spat at Li Xuanzu in a very human way.

However, after Li Xuanzu slapped it twice, it became obedient, but the color on its body, which was not very solid to begin with, became even more transparent.

"Tell me," Li Xuanzu said calmly, withdrawing his right hand.

"Huh?" The eerie creature seemed a little confused. Although it had no face and its expression couldn't be seen, its tone of voice told the whole story.

Seeing Li Xuanzu raise his right hand again, the strange hand quickly covered its head: "Brother, stop it, what do you want me to say? You didn't ask."

Li Xuanzu paused, as if it were true, but since he had already raised his hand, he casually pulled it down.

"Are there any strange noises in your head? And what's the deal with the shamanic disciple and that zombie?" Ignoring the eerie screams, Li Xuanzu asked directly.

Li Xuanzu imbued each of these slaps with his divine sense; if those slaps had landed on someone, they would have at the very least caused a concussion.

"I..." The eerie voice trembled with a sob. It was almost dying of grievance, but under pressure from Li Xuanzu, it chose to tell the truth.

"There are no strange sounds in my head. The shaman I'm talking about is the shaman you humans know. That zombie wasn't even at the third level. Because I'm a third-level weirdo, I only had the strength of a third-level monster after possessing it."

He spoke very quickly, as if afraid of being beaten if he spoke too slowly.

Li Xuanzu seemed to be deep in thought, but he still stepped on the strange creature, leaving it nowhere to escape.

"Brother, I've told you everything, please let me go." The eerie voice sounded somewhat pitiful, but its tone was truly...

"Wait a minute, I have something to ask you," Li Xuanzu said impatiently, calling for Leng An to come up.

Before Leng An and the others could react, they were surrounded by zombies. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and, together with Shen Han, dealt with a few zombies before using his spirit core and corpses to summon more zombies, thus stabilizing the situation.

Leng An's battle was quite easy; he summoned over eighty second-tier zombies to surround and protect them.

Surrounded by the summoned zombies, Leng An easily approached Li Xuanzu.

"Let me ask you something, would it be okay if I made this thing my ghost slave?" Li Xuanzu looked at the strange thing under his feet and suddenly had a strange idea.

“Uh, that probably won’t work. Normal psychics’ energy will reject the supernatural, and conversely, the supernatural slaves and spirits inside a demon-exorcising body will also reject the energy in the spirit core,” Leng An replied, though his voice sounded somewhat unsure.

It's not his fault. He was certain that it was impossible for someone to have dual or even multiple spiritual abilities, but he was proven wrong by the monster Li Xuanzu.

"Is that so? Did you hear that? It's not that I don't want to keep you, but there's nothing I can do about it." Li Xuanzu said, gradually increasing the pressure on his feet.

"No, no, no, brother, I have a way." Faced with the threat of death, Wei Yi quickly backed down, or rather, he wasn't very tough to begin with.

"I can sense that there is more than one energy within you. Please, I really don't want to die. You must have a way, right?" The eerie voice unconsciously began to use the honorific "you" in its form.

"Oh? You have this function too. Tell me what else you can do for. If it's useful, I'll spare your life." After saying this, Li Xuanzu looked at Leng An with a smile.

Leng An was sensible enough to retreat to a distance and return to Shen Han's side, no longer getting involved in Li Xuanzu's strange affairs.
