Chapter 320 Bodhi Gāthā (4000 words, two in one)
These people who caught up with us were like dogs, with very sensitive noses.
Xu Ming thought he had gotten rid of these guys, but they caught up with him again.
I don’t know how the other party found my whereabouts.
But Xu Mingke is different from Shi Xin.
Shi Xin would spare their lives and would not kill them no matter what.
But Xu Ming would only tell them to go and see the King of Hell as soon as possible, and most of them didn't even have the chance to see the King of Hell.
Because Xu Ming will chop them into pieces.
At the beginning, Shi Xin would say something like "Spare their lives and stop killing."
But Xu Ming didn't listen at all.
Xu Ming is not a saint, and even if he is a saint, he probably wouldn't be so compassionate.
Repay kindness with kindness and repay evil with justice, this is Xu Ming's creed.
Later on, Shi Xin stopped persuading him.
Because it's no use trying to persuade them.
Shi Xin would only help to liberate them after Xu Ming killed them.
Xu Ming didn't care about this.
If someone wants to kill me, I kill him, and that is my business. Apart from that, what Shi Xin wants to do is his own business.
Besides, Xu Ming felt that it was in vain to pray for the salvation of the soul.
Because Xu Ming usually does things to the extreme, Xu Ming not only kills the opponent's body, but also destroys the opponent's soul! If the opponent doesn't even have a soul, what's the use of Shi Xin's salvation? And because the people who come to kill Xu Ming are of that realm quality, there is no way to aggravate Xu Ming's injuries.
So Xu Ming fought on and off, and after five days, his injuries were basically healed.
After his injuries healed, the system's voice sounded again in Xu Ming's mind.
Xu Ming discovered a feature of the system.
If it is just a one-person battle and only a few people are killed, the reward will usually come out quickly.
However, if you kill more than a dozen or even hundreds of people, the reward will be delayed. The reward will only be announced after the system determines that you have indeed escaped from the last incident, or that you have the ability to survive.

As the system's voice fell, Xu Ming's consciousness gradually recovered.
Xu Ming was quite satisfied with the system's reward this time. This Bodhi Verse could not only be used by himself, but also by others.
Moreover, the method used is very simple, the cost is very low, and it can even be used by the entire army.
Just imagine, if the Three Thousand Dragon Leopard Cavalry or the Blood Pagoda drank this talisman water, wouldn't it be like opening a small invincible battle on the battlefield? That's right, Xu Ming found that when he defeated some weak monks, the points added were very few, and sometimes even no points were added.
"What's wrong?"
Shi Xin, who was standing aside, looked at Xu Ming who was in a daze, blinked, and asked softly.
She felt that Xu Ming had been unconscious for a long time and was worried that there might be something wrong with his injury.
"Nothing." Xu Ming shook his head. "By the way, can I tell you a story?"
Looking at this Bodhi Gāthā, Xu Ming also thought of a story.
Xu Ming felt that this story would not shake Shi Xin's Buddhist devotion, but would only cause her to think deeply. Therefore, he gave her this Bodhi Prayer Book, which could be regarded as her help to him when he was hurt.
"What story?" Shi Xin turned his head, tilted his head, and asked curiously.
Xu Ming thought for a moment and said, "This story takes place in a distant, ancient and brilliant country. It is a story about Buddhist principles."
Shi Xin nodded, becoming even more curious.
Xu Ming organized his words and slowly said:
"The story begins with Master Hongren, the fifth patriarch of the Chinese Zen sect, who wanted to find a successor among his disciples who could inherit the Dharma and continue the tradition of the Zen sect. So he gave his disciples a composition assignment: Let them express their wisdom of seeing the nature of the mind from their own wisdom of Prajna.
Master Shenxiu was a disciple of Master Hongren and had followed Hongren for many years. At that time, Master Shenxiu was already over 50 years old. He had deep insights and attainments in Buddhism and was the first disciple.
Among Hongren's many disciples, he had the highest voice in succeeding the throne, so everyone had the highest expectations for Master Shenxiu.
There was another disciple in the temple, named Huineng.
In fact, Huineng could not read a single word. He made a living by chopping wood in his early years. He accidentally heard the "Diamond Sutra" and vowed to study Buddhism. So he traveled from his hometown to Dongshan Temple to find Master Hongren.
At that time, Huineng told Master Hongren that as long as he could learn Buddhism, he was willing to be a disciple who cooked in the kitchen, and that would be enough.
Master Hongren asked all his disciples to write verses, and Huineng was naturally able to participate, but no one paid attention to this disciple. After all, who would pay attention to a person who was making fire and cooking?
At that time, Master Shenxiu wrote:
'The body is a bodhi tree, and the mind is like a bright mirror.
Wipe it frequently to avoid dust.'
These are the four lines of poetry. "
After Xu Ming finished reading these four lines of poetry, Shi Xin lowered his head and thought carefully.
Xu Ming glanced at Shi Xin's expression and said with a smile, "What do you think of these four lines of poetry?"
Shi Xin nodded and said, "In my opinion, these four lines of poetry are actually quite well written, but I always feel like something is wrong."
Xu Ming smiled, thinking that he was indeed the disciple of the master from Leiming Temple: "What do you think is wrong?"
Shi Xin shook his head, his beautiful eyebrows slightly frowned: "I can't say it."
Xu Ming withdrew his gaze and just continued telling the story.
"At that time, everyone praised it after reading it, but only Zen Master Hongren remained silent after reading it. He then summoned Shenxiu to the hall and evaluated his verse. Although he had realized the truth of Buddhism, he still had not realized the true meaning of Buddhism, so he asked Shenxiu to go back and write another one.
However, Shenxiu did not compose any verses for several days after he returned.
Shenxiu was puzzled as to why he had not realized the true meaning of Buddhism?
One day, Huineng saw this gatha written by Shenxiu, but because Huineng was illiterate, he asked a senior brother to write down his own insights next to it.
When the monks in the temple saw this Bodhi Gāthā, they were all amazed after reading it.
Later, Zen Master Hongren also came to see it and was greatly impressed.
When Master Hongren learned that this verse was written by Huineng, he was even more delighted.
Master Hongren thought that a person who could not even recognize a single word could actually have such a profound "sudden enlightenment", which was truly a rare talent.
So, Master Hongren passed on his robe and bowl to Huineng.
The poem written by Hui Neng consists of these four lines:
'There is no Bodhi tree, nor is there a mirror stand.
There is nothing in the first place, so where does dust come from? '"
After Xu Ming finished his story, Shi Xin's eyes suddenly lit up, and then quickly lost consciousness again.
She followed Xu Ming in a daze, the Buddha's light behind her was looming, and even around her body, there seemed to be an illusion of Buddhist golden lotus flowing constantly.
Xu Ming knew that Shi Xin was now entering a state of enlightenment.
Xu Ming did not disturb her but continued walking forward.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Shi Xin also followed Xu Ming in a daze.
After half an hour, Shi Xin's eyes gradually regained their spirit, and the halo behind her head also dissipated along with the spiritual power around her body.
The sound of Buddhism is constantly spreading throughout the mountains and forests.
Xu Ming clearly felt that the spiritual power in Shi Xin's body was constantly condensing, and finally formed a material existence, floating in his dantian.
And this thing is called golden elixir by monks.
"Only those who have achieved the Golden Elixir state can be considered as people of our generation. Congratulations to Master Shi Xin for entering the Golden Elixir state." Xu Ming said with a smile.
Shi Xin blinked his eyes and said, "It's all thanks to you, the donor. I owe you a favor."
Xu Ming shook his head: "That's not the case. I just told a story casually. Master Shixin was able to break through. In your Buddhist terms, this is all your good fortune."
Xu Ming was indeed not being modest. He was just telling a story. If Shi Xin didn't understand, then he could go back and think about it slowly. It was no big deal.
Moreover, Xu Ming felt that he had been bullying Shi Xin for some time and often trying to shake her Buddhist faith, which was really embarrassing. She even almost fell down several times because of his "teasing".
Unexpectedly, after hearing this story, Shi Xin actually realized something. This was indeed Shi Xin's fate.
"I wonder if there are any ancient books of Master Hongren, Master Shenxiu, and Master Huineng circulating in the world? I would like to read them." asked Shi Xin.
In Shi Xin's view, these three masters are all people of great wisdom, and there is no such thing as a winner or a loser.
Xu Ming shook his head: "This is just a story I heard. Whether this dynasty exists in this world or not is another matter. Where did the ancient book come from?"
Are you kidding? This is a story from another world. Where can I find the ancient book for you?
A hint of disappointment flashed across Shi Xin's eyes: "That's really a pity."
"Indeed a little." Xu Ming responded, without saying anything else, just walked forward.
Shi Xin followed Xu Ming while regulating the spiritual power in his body. Shi Xin had just reached the Golden Core Realm and still needed to calm the spiritual power in his body.
"Where are you going now, Mr. Xu?" Shi Xin asked after walking for a long time.
In fact, Xu Ming didn’t know where to go.
My main goal is to obtain the main fruit of the Blood Bodhi.
Now that I have obtained the main fruit of the Blood Bodhi, I don’t have any clear goals.
"Just take a walk." Xu Ming said.
Since I don’t know where to go, I’ll just walk around and look around.
If there's something good to grab, go grab it.
If there is nothing good, then I will just wait for the passage from the Rootless Secret Realm to the outside world to open.
And Xu Ming also wanted to find Yanhan and Qingwan.
If Yanhan and Qingwan need anything, I will go and get it for them.
Besides, this place is indeed very dangerous. I always feel uneasy if I don’t see them.
"good."
Shi Xin nodded.
Anyway, for Shi Xin, wherever Xu Ming goes, he will follow.
The two continued walking aimlessly between the mountains and forests.
As they walked, Shi Xin raised his head and suddenly asked Xu Ming: "Donor Xu, are you really not going to join my Buddhist sect? I think if you join Buddhism, you will definitely achieve great success."
Shi Xin still did not give up inviting Xu Ming to join Buddhism.
Xu Ming yawned and said, "I've already told you that if you practice dual cultivation with me, then I will go back to Leiming Temple with you and become a monk."
“…”
Shi Xin lowered his head and remained silent.
Xu Ming turned his head and looked in the direction of Shi Xin. He found that compared to when he first proposed the idea, Shi Xin's expression was more resistant. At this time, Shi Xin seemed to be considering the possibility of this kind of thing.
"Forget it, forget it. Seeing how resistant you are, I decided not to become a monk." Xu Ming quickly put an end to the matter.
If she really agreed and imitated the Buddha to cut her flesh and feed the eagle, I really wouldn't be able to bear it.
By then, the abbot of Leiming Temple would probably suppress me. But I heard that Shi Xin was not only a disciple to the abbot of Leiming Temple, he also treated her like his granddaughter.
"The journey is boring anyway, how about I continue telling you a story?"
Xu Ming changed the subject, trying to divert Shi Xin's attention.
"What story?" When Shi Xin heard that Xu Ming was going to tell another story, his eyes suddenly lit up.
At this moment, Shi Xin was like a little girl who loved to listen to bedtime stories, and her expression was somewhat cute.
Of course, this is not because the stories Xu Ming tells are so good, but because the stories Xu Ming tells contain some Buddhist principles and are thought-provoking.
"Let me tell you a story about an old monk and a young monk..."
Xu Ming thought about it and organized his words.
"Once upon a time, there was an old monk and a young monk. When they were crossing a river, they met a woman..."
Xu Ming spoke slowly and Shi Xin listened slowly.
The two walked between the mountains and forests. The sun was setting in the sky, and the sunset dyed the sky a dark red. The whole world seemed to be covered with a red makeup.
The red glow gradually lengthened the silhouettes of the two people...
